@@micahfurlow2624 I don't fully count that one but true. That one was made as a MK8 DLC rough draft so in this case it's not fair to compare those two especially with the rough draft also being on mobile
Not so much a shortcut but funny enough on the glider section, you can go to the right behind the statues and there’s a ring of coins hidden there for you to get. Not worth it though since it’s so much slower than just gliding straight or into the grass on the left.
There's one more skip at the end of Wii Rainbow Road where the zero grav jump happens, you can drift into the turn to completely eliminate the section. However you do not keep your drift boost.
You actually do lose your drift, but if you’re skilled enough, you can not only get a jump boost from the ramp, but also start a new drift from that jump, which can allow you to easily take the left most Boost Panel.
There is actually a shortcut in dk mountain where, on the final ramp at the top of the mountain, you can go over some of the rocks to the right by using a mushroom. Also Mario kart 8 was an absolute blast and I’m going to miss the updates.
Bye the way, there is actually an additional new cut in Wii Rainbow Road. At the mandatory halfpipe after you get launch by the Star Cannon, start drifting and aim for the ring on the left after the railing has ended. You'll get a trick and land on the other side of the road. It shaves off a good few seconds and can be done shroomless.
At the end of the day, the Booster Course Pass was a blast from the beginning to the end. The only disappointment I have is the lack of Airship Fortress (well also Toad's Factory and the Wuhu tracks, but since they weren't in Tour I figured they would never make the cut).
4:17 you missed a shortcut here. On the right there are toads in chairs but there is a open section that you can drive through between the tables. Although it is very precise it is faster than what you have suggested.
in Rosalina's Ice World on lap 2 you actually don't need a mushroom to get to the upper ice area, just hold down on the stick and trick and you can make it, not sure how consistent it is though cause I have only played the track once but I did it on my first try so it cant be that hard
In the second section of Piranha Plant Cove you before you go back into the water where the Thwomps are you can skip that part of the section but you have to be on the right side. Btw only 200cc. I found out that one myself
There is a shortcut on the half pipe with the giant golden ring surrounding it. If you drift in right past the gold ring you can skip the half pipe. Sometimes you will need to start up a quick drift to get back up to speed, but other times the boost panel will still give a boost after clearing the gap. I figured this out while trying to squeeze out a small drift on this section. If you get good at this you can be fairly consistent
You can do any shortcut in Rainbow Road shroomless. You have do hold down to fall slower, and your speed boost from the shaking bridge will boost you into the first ramp and hole, and then the trick boost will boost you through the hole. Then, start a left drift, release a blue MT, hop and hold down to do the corner cut.
Hey hey hey!! Notice about some the piranha plant cove and rainbow road shortcuts! The ones that are corner cuts out of the water can mostly (or completely on 200cc) be done without mushrooms! Veterans of some entries before 8 will remember that holding the control stick up or down used to control the direction of your kart in the air, holding up making it go down quicker with the risk of an impact bounce, and holding down to make the kart stay in the air longer, and this is the important one here. Air and anti gravity physics still have this feature! So on the cove shortcuts where it's a corner cut right after a big jump, just hold down and the direction you want to go to skip most of that turn! This is also how youll see people take the rainbow road jump much deeper in without a mushroom!
Personally Im at peace with the DLC we got. Im just glad we got a MarioKart game with Coconut Mall, Waluigi Pinball, 3ds and wii rainbow roads, baby park, maple treeway, koopa cape, sunset wilds, cheese land , ribbon road and so much more all time greats in one game. I dont even care if we never get mariokart 9 at this point.
I learned that going off ramps with characters has unique animations and its because thats how you see the fun animations with the mii costumes like the dolphin mid-air dive for the dolphin suit.
My favorite tracks in this final Wave has to be DK Mountain and Wii Rainbow Road. But yeah this is sad like Mario Kart 8 has been here since 9 years and it's just sad seeing it go as well as the characters they didn't add like Captain Falcon and Kirby in the roster but yeah it's sad seeing this game done and over with it's really sad. So since you are gonna do a ranking on all the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tracks maybe in the next Mario Kart 8 Deluxe video you should talk about the Mario Characters and Nintendo Characters that Nintendo did not add in the Booster Course Pass like Hammer Bro, King Bob-omb, Dixie Kong, Nabbit, Captain Toad, Chargin Chuck, Monty Mole, Poochy, SNES Mario, SNES Donkey Kong Jr, Kirby, Captain Falcon, Samus, Sonic, Pikachu, and all the other characters like you should do that video next after the ranking of all the tracks because I know that they did some changes with the character select screen with the Inklings and the Villagers but I mean just imagining what else they would added or what they could add in the next Mario Kart Game since both Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Mario Kart Tour are both done.
Danm young buck!! Lol I was 34 with 2 kids and married when u were in high-school lol. Now my daughter is a senior. You aren't much older then her 😂. I remember the snes mariokart release and playing it at target for hours. You weren't even born yet👶🤣
You forgot one. In the section with the crack you can do a gap jump with mushrooms. And also it's not necessary to use a mushroom to reach the normal route on the 2nd and 3rd laps. You can just use the halfpipe on the right and trick off the ramp to make it on the ice and avoid the water.
I found a little cut in Wii rainbow road if you drift really hard (but not too hard or you’ll fall off the track) at the antigravity jump near the end of the track, you can save like a second and a half because you don’t jump as high
New shortcut: on the half pipe near the end of Wii rainbow Road you can skip the part where your flung in the air by driving of the side of the half pipe - no hop or mushroom
You forgot one in Wii Rainbow Road to. The mandatory halfpipe isn't really mandatory. You can drift toward a part of the ring around it and clear the gap to skip the halfpipe.
I was hoping that there would be a lot more short cuts in bowsers castle 3, especially with the big lava square that looks like you can pop the corner skipping the Twamp and some of the booster panels.
Theres a cut on the half pipe in rbwii. The big one to be specific. You just aim for the corner and hop when you reach antigrav panel. You'll go straight to the other side skipping the balf pipe. Idk if that was in wii. I don't play it and haven't in a while
bro have 2 shortcuts in wii rainbow road u dont demostred one in the part of the 8 you use the ant gravity jump and cut this part and can use in the shortcut of the S and this I descovery it's in the part before the star launch in the gravity jump if you in the firt booster do a drift for the left you can cut the jump.
Anyone else notice you can now pick up stars … dropped from someone after being lightning bolted? Or has that always been there and I’ve just never noticed 😂
Wait what ? The final wave is already there ? People just kept talking about the DLC almost everyday since the first wave that I don't care anymore about this game lol, I'm glad it's over because now many of my friends will finally move on
For some reason, every time I see light blue Yoshi here I _swear_ I'm seeing Squirtle and have to do a double take. I don't know why; I know full well I'm looking at Mario Kart and not Pokemon Snap, but that's immediately what my mind snaps to when I see him in the background there. It's weird.
They nerfed rainbow road... All the memories of my mates being trash at this course and me having no issues with the track... They made it noob-friendly.
Anyone else disappointed with Rainbow road? It is far too easy and nearly impossible to fall off! Nowhere near the challenge of the Wii version, so why bother bringing it back? It's so bland!
I like how faithful they were to the track's visual details but yeah, they scaled it a little too big and added some fences that I don't think were in Wii? Either way they definitely made it easier. I'm not as bothered, but it is definitely a little disappointing.
