EVERY SINGLE BOOK ON MY PHYSICAL TBR (aka all my unread books) 

book buying/collecting and book reading are two very separate hobbies and I am a lot better at one than the other👀🤣

How could multiple shelves of unread books that you really *want* to read EVER be a bad thing?!🤔🤔🤔 Plus, they're work related! See, you're off the hook!!🤣🤣🤣

Having a dedicated TBR shelf has changed my life 😅 before they would blend in with the other ones and never get read, now they have the deserved attention

I'm exactly the same, so don't worry about the number too much. It's just such a nice feeling to have an unread library at home to chose from. :) Try to prioritize Project Hail Mary when you're in the mood for scifi. It's sooo good.

I love having a large TBR. It keeps me reading because I will look around and there is always something that I really want to read within arms reach. And when libraries and stores closed down during Covid and Amazon was not keeping things in stock, I was SO thankful to have a fairly large selection of books at my disposal!

Don't worry about that number! I also have over 150 unread books (and I'm not even a booktube/bookstagram person I just really like books lol) but I find it really helpful to know proportionally how many unread books I have- for me, so long as more than 50% of my collection read I'm happy. I think my scales have tipped though, as I've continued doing a 5-10 book haul every couple months but I've gone back to school so my reading pace went from 5-7 books a month to 2-3 books so I'm officially outpacing myself lol

Ooh, I used to have 200+ unread books and it took me 2-3 years but now my unread shelf sits under 20! It feels good to have a small tbr, but I like knowing I have options to read, too. 🙈 Maybe you should do a reading vlog themed after finishing series! Apollo & Magnus Chase & Tristan Strong would be great to include in it. 🙌🏻🙌🏻

I would love to see you do the Books with Emily Fox "One week one shelf" challenge! Basically during a month you randomly choose one of your unread shelfs every week and pick one book and one audiobook. ❤️

I read about 150 books a year and my TBR still stays around 250ish. I love having a lot to choose from at any given time since I’m a mood reader. So you’ll only find support of large TBRs here 😊

I'm scared to even count the number of books I own that I haven't read. Kindle Unlimited really has me in its clutches and keeps me from reading my owned TBR lol.

My reading challenge for Goodreads this year is to get my unread books to under 15. (And theoretically keep it there.) I made categories which helps. 10 unread books, 3 unlistened to audiobooks and 2 unread devotionals. To reach this goal, I need to read 44 books this year. I’ve read 17 so I’d say it’s working. (Technically I did just receive a dozen old classic Nancy Drew books but I’m not including them in this year’s goal.) I also made a bookshelf on Goodreads of all my unread books so I can see the total go down as I finish books:)

David Mitchell's book usually have some speculative/fantasy/scifi elements to them. They are also all connected. That's good to know if you ever decide to pick them up. Also I think it's best to start with Cloud Atlas (Please ignore if you have already read some of his books)

Honestly, I see unread books as a good thing! Books are for reading, after all, and now you have books to read. Sometimes it's a lot of pressure but I like to think of it as possibility! Potential! Positivity! Denial! (Btw, A Deadly Education and Half Sick of Shadows are adult books, not YA, even though ADE is set in a school it's published by an adult imprint)

I’ve just started this video and already know I’m going to be adding so many books to my TBR.

I realized when you said you unhaul a lot of your read books that I'm doing something similar right now (the house is a chaos of unhauling; two weeks of listing on Pango and I'm only bit more than halfway thru my titles, only like another 100 to go 😫) though I do have quite a few unread I'm letting go of, too. I'm super tired of having such an extensive tbr and there's so much I just know I'm not actually going to finish. There's a huge difference between being excited about the idea of a book and actually staying engaged with it until it's done. At least for me. And letting go of what I'm not super excited for just makes me more enthusiastic for what's left. Like you said, it's great to have options!! (Sorry for rambling on, but I'm literally thinking about this every day, so this video could not have come at a better time 😁)

I love the confidence with which you say everyone’s names! For the most part I wouldn’t have even noticed any of them were wrong if not for ariadne hahaha. I spent *time* learning how to say that one so now it sticks out 🙃 I definitely think you could do like a translated books challenge, an Asian author challenge (Chloe just did koreadathon which was fun) or like every month do a weeklong challenge for authors or settings of a particular country

She is gonna love those Rick Riordan books when she gets around to reading them . THE TRIALS OF APPLLO : THE TYRANT'S TOMB is a great book for a Greek and Roman mythology fan . My copy was signed by the author !

Lol if it makes you feel any better, I currently own just over 1000 books, of which 540 are unread. I have no shame. I love buying books, I love owning books, I will never stop. I just see it as a life long library hahaha

I'm reading Master of Sorrows atm and it's soo good! It seems to have inspiration from Greek gods in the way the gods of the world are set as well as a very interesting take on magic and how it is viewed. It's meant to be a villain origin story as well which I am loving

I think I have you beat.. My wife and I got the library collection of discworld, and I have not yet gotten through many of those (Sanderson needs to chill), so that's like 34 books in One shelf. Then I have started Abercrombie, but Still have 3 tbr, I have Robert Jordan, and 4 unread Sanderson and six of Bones and yeah, the list goes on. We probably have 400-500 books. I have Read a lot of them (and sometimes I get stuck re-reading faves). In my defence, my wife is as Huge of a fantasy nerd as me and she also loves buying books 😂 Edit: meant in the fantasy/YA section lol

PLEASE read Circe! It is one of the most beautifully written books I’ve read, and has quickly become one of my favorite books ever. It has beautiful metaphors, themes of feminism, self-growth, and the price of power. I loved it so much! It’s a must read!

Books with Emily Fox does a challenge where for one month she will read 1 shelf a week . I love when she goes that challenge

I use my Goodreads to keep me in (pseudo) check. I only add to my "To Read" shelf on January 1st. The rest of the year, I'm doing my best to work that shelf down (so I keep reading the stuff I've had for a while without "adding" new things to it until the end of the year). The problem I run into is that I still buy new books as the year goes along, but I don't really notice how many until I have to update my shelf with the books I own. I'm currently at just over 100 TBR's, and I have now made the "I'm only buying books for my Book Club (we meet once a month, so that's only 12 new books a year) and if Stephen King comes out with something" vow. Haha

Read Dry, its so good. I read it during early quarantine. While reading, I went to get a glass of water, and the tap water came out all foamy. I almost had a panic attack. It was the aeration just needed to be adjusted. 🤣

Haha I did that at the end of the year last year and decided to not buy books this whole year, just read off my shelf and unhaul to the Little Free libraries in my neighborhood. If some don't fit then I take one, but otherwise I just drop off. Cause yeah lol I hear ya 🙈🤣

I have a stack of unread also at my bedside and a slue in my Kindle ugh I have had to put myself on a read a book buy a book diet. LOL!

I don't understand why this is a bad thing. Most of my owned books are unread. That's why I have them, because I want to read them. If I've read the book, I don't need it anymore (unless I love it so much that I know I want to read it again, which is pretty rare). I don't keep books I've read unless I plan to re-read it, or very rarely, because it's so pretty that I keep it more as decoration for my bookshelves (Dune falls in this category, and I need the whole beautiful paperback collection, even though I don't have any interest in reading the rest of the series 🤦‍♀️). You're fine. You do, however, own a couple of titles that I'm a bit shocked you haven't read yet, because I think you'd love them. The Golem and the Jinni and A Gentleman in Moscow, specifically.

i have over 350 unread books (i made an excel sheet so i could keep track haha). Honestly, i've been strict with myself the last 2 years to only buy new releases that i plan to read ASAP or special editions. I hope to get it below 50 eventually. It's just very overwhelming to me because i do want to read all of them. 😅
