Funny story … When i watch these videos especially while traveling I try to conceal my phone from nosy people who sitting next to me who might get weirded out. I ended up sitting next to a young man 30ish and I guess i wasn’t doing a good job concealing because he started speaking to me and asked what I was listening to. I lied and said “atc videos”…. and we went back and forth for a few minutes then finally he admitted he liked to listen to atc videos as well. I finally told him what i was actually listening (the atc and video from the 9/11 flights) He laughed and said I love to listen to plane crashes too!! We ended up talking most of the flight about different crash videos

Aviation is generally a safe industry, but for the love of all that's good steer your husband away from piloting any Boeing aircraft built after 1991, ESPECIALLY the Boeing Max, those things are death traps and it's nothing short of sheer luck that they didn't kill anyone at my airport this year. The amount of corruption that's been allowed to rot at Boeing's safety standards based solely on nostalgia is shocking and horrifying.

A few months ago prior to going to Hawaii I watched dozens of plane crash videos. The worst part about my flight was when the pilot came over the intercom telling us that we were soon going to be experiencing some turbulence because we were scurrying around the edges of an unexpected hurricane that hit the Pacific. We did hit a little, but not too bad. Nonetheless, the entire flight I had this impending feeling of doom. I was fairly certain we had a significant chance of heading straight into the ocean, so I read all the safety information on the plane. I memorized all the details about a water landing and how to open the doors, inflate the slides, and get the rafts out of compartments. I obviously survived my flight there and back, but man was my anxiety through the roof. Although, the plus side is, I’m now an expert at airplane safety procedures. Not that you’d live anyway because I also read the statistics on water landings and they aren’t good. Most don’t end like the landing on the Hudson. 😂

@@markunavail8510 It's not dependant on just that. There are several independent sources for air speed to ensure that if one fails it's not the end of the world and the flight can continue.. No, the tube cannot become clogged at any second for any number of reason. If this was the case, it wouln't be used. You clearly do not have any kind of knowledge regarding aviation which is completely fine. Throwing out claims and statements that are unfounded and untrue is not. Instead of saying something that isn't even true is insane, ask questions. The truth of the matter is that the pilots fucked up. While the situation was confusing, there is one rule that should always be followed: You get a stall warning, you drop the nose and increase throttle. The first officer did the opposite and pulled back on his stick. Lots of other terrible decisions contributed to the crash but they pretty much sealed their own fate when the FO pulled back on the stick.

Ive never gotten the opportunity too work around these planes so forgive me if i sound stupis but couldn't tower check flaps as well
@Mcat78
@Mcat78 11 месяцев назад
No. Tower watches radar and planes coming in and going out on it. You're not going to see anything from that far away
@sharoncassell5273
@sharoncassell5273 7 месяцев назад
The tower in most cases cannot see the planes. They are underground in a room with no windows. Only screens. The ATC upstairs in the glass enclosure can see planes and possibly view positions of flaps whether they are retracted or extended. With binoculars. It has happened.

Yes but planes ✈️ have been in the air since the 50s. True investigators learn from each crash but there are still airlines that put off needed repairs to save money. And you’ll never know…until it’s too late.

This is why I am so skeptical of Boeing and Airbus these days. The lack of maintenance oversight and Boeing’s determination to outnumber Airbus. This only leads to safety oversight.

I can't imagine what goes thur the mind on a plane all of a sudden it's going down and theres nothing you can do but sit there and be ripped apart on impact you know it would be nothing short of a miracle to survive a plane crash and would you really want to survive maybe to spend the rest of you life as a living ball of flesh i'm 63 now after finding videos like these on youtube I won't be flying again I figure I can spend the rest of my life on 4 wheels or 2 feet.

I'm 70 & fly all the time even 737 max 9. Airbus 321. To Hawaii on jet blue & southwest. AA. It's fun and safe. Modern jets have more computerized control. They learned from these old accidents and corrected many of glitches once scary. My aunt 84 retired as a stewardess and just stopped flying.

Why are many of the cases cut off before the conclusion? The case about the 2 planes crashing over the grand canyon said they were near one another and then switch to one about Air Mexico that wasn't involved with the previous case.

The Portland, Oregon plane ran out of gas because of the crew's preoccupation with the fact that the landing gear lights did not indicate that the gear was down for landing. However, the gear was down. The plane kept flying a pattern while the crew tried to solve the problem. The captain ignored cautions from the other flight deck staff about the fuel until it was too late. The plane found a "dark area" in which to land, but rather than being a field, it was a patch of trees with 2 unoccupied houses within it, both of which were destroyed. How do I know? The plane passed over our apartment complex and crashed one street away. They had to disassemble parts of the plane to get it out of the neighborhood.
