I only have an experience with Spyro Reignited Trilogy what is really good trilogy, but about of games Spyro 1 is good, 2 is best and 3 is good too the reason why I like 2 the most is Elora she's so nice and adorable Spyro character who kissed Spyro LOVE Spyro x Elora! ❤
@@michaelaugust4313 no. The first game is in third place. I find it a bit bland compared to the other two. The second game is second place. The third game is first place.
“Dawn of the Dragon” THAT low on the list!? That hurts, that really hurts. It’s an absolute gem to play, great gameplay, cast and soundtrack to boot as well. 😔💔
Agreed. And not ground breaking? The flight controls on the wii were super unique. The graphics and art were really good for the tech too. I still bust the game out on my wii, its on my list of all time favs.
Agreed! "Eternal Night," GBA or otherwise is THE worst Spyro game ever! Even "Spyro Orange" was better than that mess! And including the Reignited Trilogy, I'd put Spyro 1 at #5, Spyro 2 at #4, Spyro 3 at # 3, Dawn of the Dragon at #2, and Reignited at #1! In short, Dawn of the Dragon does not get the LOVE it ABSOLUTELY deserves!
I'm sorry having Dawn of The Dragon THAT low is criminal. It was fun, the story was good, the graphics were pretty good especially on the PS3 and Xbox 360. It tied up Spyro and Cynders adventures perfectly.
I agree. Did you ever do the glitch in the game, where if you 100% the game and unlock the permanent fire breath upgrade, you could carry it over to a new game slot and play again from the beginning with it unlocked?
Ripto's Rage was ok, but Year Of The Dragon was the best game in the original Spyro Trilogy, especially with all the new playable heroes like Sheila The Kangaroo, Sgt. Byrd, Bentley The Yeti, Agent 9, & Sparx The Dragonfly even had some wavy bonus levels 2 check out & play through, NO DOUBT!!!💯💯💯
Definitely Ripto's Rage. My problem with Year of the Dragon is how skill based Hunter's skateboarding was. You shouldn't have to 100% a game with something like that unless it's Tony Hawk or Tje Simpsons.
@@zachtwilightwindwaker596Year of the Dragon is great. But Riptos Rage has a better villain, more memorable levels, and has easily the best home world (Autumn Plains) out of the original trilogy
Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage for the PS1 was my first time playing any videogame, amongst the likes of Digimon World, Digimon World 3, Cubix, and more. Consequently, Spyro 2 is my favorite. I always loved the glitch in the game, where if you 100% it to get the permanent super breath, you could save it, exit to start a new game, and play through the new game file with Super Breath permanently unlocked from the beginning. It was, and still is fun.
I hope Spyro 4 borrows elements from Enter the Dragonfly like the ability to use different breaths. I love the idea behind it and dragonflies being the next collectibles
1st game I've ever played,I've been collecting merch from Spyro the dragon...still makes me feel like I'm a kid again. Every year I play Spyro The dragon and complete it in 120%. Special to my heart
I enjoyed playing the videogames "Spyro: enter the dragonfly", "The legend of Spyro: dawn of the dragon", "The legend of Spyro: the beginning", "Spyro: a hero's tail", "Spyro: year of the dragon", and "Spyro: reignited trilogy"
I remember coming home from school being idk 6 years old. My dad was working evenings that night so he wasn’t home unfortunately. My dad had gotten my sister and I a modded PlayStation and would always rent every single game from the video store, burn them, then we could play them. The exception? Riptos Rage. I remember playing a little bit of it as SOON as I got home. Got to idol springs and had to end because I had martial arts class. To this day. Ripto’s Rage is still my absolutely favourite Spyro game. I had played the first one as we had a burnt copy of it. But this blew it out of the water for me. I will never forget the influence my dad had on me with gaming. That being said, Riptos rage is MY favourite Spyro game! Rest easy dad 💕

Spyro Attack Of The Rhynocs and Spyro Season Of Ice and Spyro 2 Season Of Flame and Spyro Reignited Trilogy is my personal ranking for the Spyro series on the switch or on the Gameboy advance
Spyro the Dragon is one of my all time favourite video game series ever! I’ve recently been on a crazy replaying a lot of the older games like a hero’s tail and the legend trilogy. I can’t get enough of him. I really hope we get that 4th proper mainline game someday as well.
Strongly disagree with Spyro 2 being the worst of the original trilogy. Anyways I'm liking the video because I'm always happy with more Spyro content. Hoping we get a Spyro 4 some day.
14:27 I really liked the orchestrated music they used in the background during the video, it really shows how important the Spyro games really are! 🤩🎻🎺🥁
I was going crazy about your number two until I saw number one. I totally forgot about the remaster. So awesome and technically is the same as the last few lol
I remember playing Spyro's video games. I have Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy, Spyro: Attack of the Rhynocs, Spyro 2: Season of Flame, and Spyro: Season of Ice.
the Spyro Trilogy should be the only ones unmentioned or even considered "bad". Insomniac birthed him. we can't blame mom and dad for what little timmy does after graduating.
Putting my bias aside, Spyro 2 is my favourite of the original 3, if you had put it 4th, I could have handled it being along side Spyro 1, 3 and Reignited but having it behind a GBA Spryo game is criminal
Ripto's Rage (Gateway to Glimmer in europe) was my introduction to Spyro's franchise, and even though, objectively, Year of the dragon is a better game, something about Spyro 2 will always feel special to me, and it's the one i've replayed the most times. Such a shame that we might never get a new Spyro game after recent statements from greedy publishers.
Putting Dawn of the Dragon lower than Eternal Night is INSANE to me. The difficulty curve in Eternal Night is ridiculous. It's so bad that I never fully beat the game as a kid. At least Dawn of the Dragon is fun to play. I personally haven't played EN's GBA port either, but I've heard it's good. Also, putting Season of Flame ABOVE Spyro 2 is a WILD take, but a bold one. Season of Flame, for those who haven't played it, REALLY is great! I wouldn't say BETTER than Ripto's Rage, but it's still great!
Spyro stopped being good after the series left Insomniac. The original trilogy are still some of my favourite games ever, especially the first game. How I wish Insomniac would take their franchise back and develop a sequel to 2000's Year of the Dragon
Spyro 2 is no way the weakest in the original trilogy, I'd say the first game is, even though its still good and it started the franchise. 2 and 3 got better, 2 focusing on new mechanics and 3 on the new characters. Still hoping for an announcement for spyro 4, he deserves so much more love then he gets
As a BIG fan of a 2D Platformer games i'm really surprised to see Nintendo Gameboy Advance The Legend of Spyro The Eternal Night I've learned so much new about Spyro the Dragon in the Year of the Dragon WOW! 🐉🔥
Reignited was pretty great especially the best game of that trilogy, Year Of the Dragon. Though my favorite Spyro game was the Original Skylanders:Spyro’s Adventure.
I was thinking what the hell is number 1 but can’t argue the first 3 are my all time favourites I probably prefer playing gateway to glimmer (2) than the other 2 but that’s more nostalgia than anything but adore all 3
Ripto's Rage being FIFTH is bonkers. It's easily the best of the original trilogy and IMO the best Spyro game period, both the original and Reignited versions. But yeah, pop off
The Reignited Trilogy and the PS1 Trilogy are indeed the best games of the franchise. I do have a soft spot for the Legend Trilogy, especially what a frightening & sinister villain Mark Hamill was as the Dark Master.
The thing I like about Spyro 1 is that you can 100% each level when you enter it. In Spyro 2 you have to unlock abilities and go back and forth. Not a fan of that. Playing through the Reignited trilogy now. About halfway through 2.
That’s why Spyro 1 is my favorite. Spyro 2 and 3 are still good but they both have a lot of backtracking and it gets so repetitive and stressful. Especially in Spyro 3.
What’s the one where there was a crystal system and you found a floating pirate ship in an arena, and there was a forest area with giant walking forest beings
Here is the correct list: 1. Spyro 2 Ripto’s Rage 2. Spyro 3 Year Of The Dragon 3. Spyro The Dragon 4. Spyro Reignited Trilogy 5. Spyro A Hero’s Tail 6. Spyro Enter The Dragonfly 7. Spyro Season Of Flame 8. Spyro Season Of Ice 9. Spyro Dawn Of The Dragon 10. Spyro A New Beginning 11. Spyro An Enteral Night 12. Spyro Attack Of The Rhynocs 13. Spyro Orange 14. Spyro Shadow Legacy
Very interesting how the game boy advance version of the eternal night is highlighted here. I haven’t played that one and don’t think I ever will. I’ll just stick to the PS2 version. I know it’s just DLC for a new beginning but I like how it improved upon the breath abilities in the previous game and gave them more depth too.
Like half of this ranking is a hot take😂 Dawn of The Dragon under A New Beginning and The Eternal Night? Even under A Heroes Tail is questionable. It's a tough call amongst the original trilogy as to which game is the best, most people have their own preference, but putting the re-ignited trilogy at number one is such a cop-out😂 Though I will say that Season of Flame is definitely the best GBA game.
I think we need a new spyro game, like Crash Bandicoot has had so many new games while Spyro only got a remake of the original 3 which was still good but come on, i think at least make Spyro catch up to Crash Bandicoot in quality and quantity of games before making more crash bandicoot games, I would hate to see if Spyro is forever grounded before his potential revival ever got a chance to soar. Also I hope they keep Sparx as Spyro's life indicator and not his health bar from the Legend of Spyro games or Skylanders. And I also hope that like Crash Bandicoot 4 it's about time that Spyro 4 makes it where the player can choose if they want to have unlimited or limited lives it could appeal to both newbies and veterans to the Spyro Games. I also agree with Reignited Trilogy being the best as it is not only 3 games packaged together but also they even made a lot of the challenges less frustrating and also they fixed Spyro 1's gem problem because if you couldn't find a gem and you searched everywhere you could be screwed as Sparx would not show you where they are as that idea was not implemented back then, so glad they made it where you can finally find those pesky straggers.
I grew up with the original trilogy and the other games I'd played since then haven't quite held up as well. Although Reignited was really good. I'd still place the original at the top spot and Ripto's Rage 2nd... possibly hero's tail above Year of the Dragon, but it depends. I'm not a big fan of the games when you play multiple characters and it still sorta bugs me that the 2nd and 3rd installments of the original trilogy involve backtracking. The original I could easily play through in over 3 hours in one sitting because it doesn't have all that backtracking/unlocking nonsense. Enter the Dragonfly could've done with more story and definitely lesser glitches
How can you forget to mention the console version of The legend of Spyro the eternal night if only you play all the way through the end you will see the end credits it has an emotional song
Spyro 2 is by and far the best game in the spyro franchise. no way that ANY of the GBA games come close to the amazing game that spyro 2 is. Really any of the spyro games after the OG trilogy hold no candles to it.
now next they really need to make a spyro a hero's tail remake and İ don't even know why spyro enter the dragonfly is very low on the list İ loved playing that game back before İ had ps2
Gateway to glimmer is miles better than season of flame wth? Clearly this guy's nostalgia got in the way of his ranking...for me Year of the dragon has it all between it's beautiful worlds & great challenges, it just edges spyro 2 and then spyro 1
My most favorite Xbox-Activision's Spyro games are.... 1): Activision's Spyro Reignited Trilogy (2018). 2): PlayStation & Universal's Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon (2000). 3): PlayStation & Universal's Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! (1999). 4): PlayStation & Universal's Spyro the Dragon (1998). 5): Sierra's The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning (2006). 6): Activision & Sierra's The Legend of Spyro 3: Dawn of the Dragon (2008) the final chapter of the Legend Trilogy. 7): Sierra & Universal's Spyro: A Hero's Tail (2004). 8): Sierra's The Legend of Spyro 2: The Eternal Night (2007). 9): Universal's Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly (2002). And my least favorite Xbox-Activision's Spyro games... 1): Universal's Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy (2004). 2): Sierra's Spyro: Shadow Legacy (2005) the final chapter of the Classic series. 3): Universal's Spyro: Attack of the Rhynocs (2003). 4): Universal's Spyro: Season of Flame (2002). 5): Universal's Spyro: Season of Ice (2001).
Spyro the dragon would be my favorite of all time ever, I’m glad Toys for Bob brining the trilogy and made it special for all three games before they’re were taken by Activision😢
I did not like the GBA Spyro games. I don't think Sparx could point to were the missing gems are. Spyro was good until the original trilogy ended. We need a proper 4th entry. Enter the Dragonfly was disappointing. We also need a proper 3D crossover. I think Spyro did make a cameo in one of the Crash games. Ripto's Rage is my childhood.
Oh, man, I live Spyro. Back when Insomniac made great original games and not some boring as fuck superhero games. I always thought Spyro was Sony's best platformer series, at least the first trilogy. Not as good as Nintendo's offerings, but really fun nonetheless. I think the remake trilogy is really good, but I'll take PS1 games over them every day. Remakes control better, of course, but something about the PS1 look and soundtracks hit different. I personally like Gateway to Glimmer the best, but Year Of The Dragon isn't that far behind. The first Spyro is a good game, the follow ups are just better.
Eternal Night the worst of the legend trilogy? Gimme a break! Now there's a popular opinion I'll never get. It improved a New Beginning gameplay-wise in almost every way. More enemy variety, improved combat, way funner elemental attacks, better balance between fighting and platforming (also with way better platforming sections), the awesome timebending ability, actual collectable stuff other than experience gems. I feel like many who played Eternal Night just got frustrated at its difficulty, which is definitely high but not unfair, and left the game unfinished after the first few levels.
