What other franchises would you like us to rank from worst to best? How far down the list do you expect LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga to be when it comes out and dates this video horribly? Should EA stop making Star Wars games now that there's a nice round hundred? We want to hear all your thoughts!
Battlefront II (2017) got much more than a little update. The game now is fantastic and worthy of the name for sure. All characters are unlocked, and tons of modes, maps, and even a campaign chapter were added for free. Fantastic video, but you did my boy dirty, lol :)
More of a multiplayer game than a singeplayer game people only touch the story mode once or twice than they play arcade or multiplayer so yes they should rank it how it is now since thats where most of the content is
@Cyberpunks Witcher It's absolutely how it should work. The antiquated idea of how games are at launch vs. how they evolve was left behind a generation ago.
I'm kind of disappointed that you never mentioned the fighting game aspect of Episode 3 on Xbox/PS2. It was the only reason I played it. They could've just made that a game in itself. Also, the OG Battlefront 2 should have been higher on this list. At least in the top 10. Other than that though, it was a great video and I enjoyed watching it.
Kudos for putting Rebellion as high as you did on the list! In my opinion one of the most underrated Star Wars games out there. Even as a child I had a deep appreciation for how complex the strategy portion was. Nothing super controversial from my perspective on the games I played either. KOTOR well deserves #1.
I kept waiting for it and waiting for it and was happy it was so high. I spent so much time with Rebellion as a kid with it on cd, plus I think another 100 hours with the Steam release.
Yep agreed, Rebellion is really good. A game which combined the best parts of Rebellion and Empire at War is what I've always wanted. EAW improved a heap in terms of the battle/combat side of things but the galactic overview part didn't have anywhere near the scale and micromanagement that Rebellion's did.
It kinda feels like the Battlefront 2 (2017) entry was written by someone who played it on release day and never played it again, and that the Squadrons entry was written by someone who just doesn't care about it and has never played it.
I understand there's a lot of games to get through but a lot of these ranks miss the whole point of some of the games and their key features. Can't really rank much off base level play time
I absolutely adored the GBA Revenge of the sith Game. I’m very happy it actually made it to the top 20, it looked great and the gameplay was buttery smooth and epic
I pretty much agree with this list, but for me Battlefront 2 Classic is the definitive star wars experience. It has lightsaber and force power action, memorable ground skirmishes and epic space battles and to top it all, Galactic Conquest. The game is still very much alive with online servers and insanely good modding community.
Yes but it was missing one thing that was important, a grand story set in the Star Wars Universe :) Battlefront 2 Classic is decently number 2 for me after KOTOR.
EA battlefront 2 really changed with updates , the game launched as a cash grab , and became a great game with a lot of content and a strong community. It’s a real shame that EA moved all the devs to 2042.
I actually enjoyed Jedi Academy quite a bit. It was the right game at the right time. I was really getting into Star Wars as a franchise and just cool movies. It was a barebones game with a simple story that was mainly an excuse to visit other planets and fight. It's like a one trick pony that knows how to do its trick so well it doesn't get old.
Jedi Outcast has the better story, but Jedi Academy has the better gameplay. More force powers. More lightsaber combos. More enemy and location variety.
And it's objectively better than the first new Star Wars Battlefront now. It deserved all the criticism it got when it released just as now it deserves all the praise it gets from people who actually take the time to try it.
I actually very much enjoyed Yoda Stories - as well as Indiana Jones and His Desktop Adventures - for the PC, not the GBC. I got them both at the same time, when I was 9 or 10 in 2000. I remember as there’s “new millennia” memories attached to those memories around that time. I think for a young kid, they’re not _that bad_ but, I should probably try to replay them and see what I think now that I’m 31!
I wonder how many people appreciated and caught all the double entendres in Republic Commando, done on purpose, or not. One of the best reviews, in my opinion. You could even hear how it was impossible to stop the double entendres, even when they hit the next entry, Battlefront.
You done revenge of the sith dirty here, i know its quite a simple, easy game. But the fact it had the optional ending for Anakin to be the guy to com out on top with obi wans death was such a cool aspect of the game. Aswell as you could 1v1 if you played 2 player, always slaughtered my brother as Anakin lol
I think the Force Unleashed 2 gets a lot of undeserved hate. Was it as good as the first one? No, but it was still entertaining, and in my opinion, should still make it to the top 20, and the first one is in my top ten.
Same. Really sad to see it so low. Maybe objectively it isnt so good but goddammit me as a kid loved it and played it just as much as I played the first game. Still love it
Agreed. I rarely play games through more than once, but I've been recently replaying both Force Unleashed games. They should both at least be in the top HALF of this list, if not top 20. These reviewers seem to prefer vehicle games though. Pod racing and Tie Fighters over Lightsabers and Force. I'm the opposite.
TFU has many flaws that got never improved, other games are much better at what they do and at being a good SW experience. You can enjoy the way the force works in TFU but that doesn't fix how unplayable the game sometimes can be.
For Revenge of the Sith you forgot to mention the dueling multiplayer! That was actually the only part of the game I remember because it was more of fighting game. Good work on the list btw 👍
Republic commando is still to this day, my favorite video game. I played it again when they brought it to ps4 and then beat it a 2nd time on hard. I'd love to see more of delta squad
The top two choices are right, switchable dependant on mood :) KOTOR defo a more chilled, varied and immersive experience with a good storyline, with Outcast giving a great action experience with awesome Jedi powers in real-time. Decent story as well, but more of a straight line than KOTOR. Outcast was tough though; Level 2 get your Lightsabre, cut through your enemies with ease for a short while. Then hop out on a ledge and almost instantly get cut in half by snipers which use some weapon Lightsabres don't block. Forces you to use guns again and not for the only time.
Star Wars has actually had pretty good games compared to the majority of Licensed games out there. Star Wars Kinect is criminally underrated. It is a great dance game with Wierd Al level parodies and the emperor participating in a dance battle. That is hilarious. Yes other parts of the game are basically unplayable but there is some real fun to be had.
I feel like it does bf2 2018 a disservice to not mention all of the post launch love it received. Dice seemingly really put their heart into fixing the game, and I would argue they did a wonderful job. From removing the pay to win microtransactions to reworking and tweaking the game play systems to be less grindy and more fun. Along with a whole heap of content on the way. Its just a shame that E.A pulled the plug on the game this year.
Its more than a disservice. This was an outright lie about the games current state. Either they were so butt hurt that they never returned to the game after launched. Or they simply ignored all of the good DICE did, just to air out their grievances
Agreed. I find it was disheartening to knock the game down solely on the lootbox controversy over other concepts that they use to grade games (graphics, environment, content, game gameplay, etc.).
I'm sure that is true, but the game became the poster boy for why EA is terrible. At this point, it is what it is famous, and it will be the game's legacy. If that pisses you off . . . good! Make sure to let EA know how mad you are at them foe destroying the game's reputation in order to prey on whales.
Star Wars Empire at War and its dlc forces of corruption are excellent RTS games. Their only major flaw is the pathfinding can be a bit buggy at times and some missions can be challenging but other than that its pretty great. It actually has a huge and active modding community thats keeping the game going and pretty strongly after all these years. Some of the mods even transform it into almost an entirely different game and its very impressive. If you like RTS's its definately worth the checking out.
@@heroinboblivesagain5478 just because something is popular doesn't mean its good. Republic Commando is a mushy, short and agonizing experience, yet many remember it fondly.
@@heroinboblivesagain5478 - pea shooter guns, feel terrible - like 3 maps, Geonosis, Acclamator, Kashyyyk - the game looks mushy, the colour palette is monotonous. - no emotional connection to the ugly looking Clone "Commandos" - the game annoyed the heck out of me right around the Acclamator mission, stopped after that Like srsly? KOTOR1, Battlefront 2 2005, Galactic Battlegrounds and you choose this game?!
Really didn't do Battlefront 2 justice, only really talked about the mtx but not the game itself especially after they took those mtx out and supported it with free updates for so long
This video feels like it was written in 2017, when the prequels were hated and Battlefront 2 2017 was terrible. But it's from 2020 when people realized the prequels weren't that bad and Battlefront 2 was updated and now it's one of the best Star Wars games of all time.
Hard agree. The amount of prequel hate jokes feel like the timeless ones that have been beat into the ground. Did he forget yhe sequels exist or is he a defender. I still love the list but god the overused prequel jokes
I mean, generally speaking the older generation still dislikes the prequels. The idea that everyone changed their minds about the prequels is a bit ridiculous, the younger audience that grew up with the movies simply got old enough to be a louder voice online.
I’m 2 years late, and I still feel personally offended you didn’t review the jar jar educational disk. I know you must just be saving it for it’s own video because it’s so legendary.
Fantastic work yet again guys. I'm so proud of how far you have come since 'name redacted'. Easily two of the best voice over list..thing..type.. guys on RU-vid. ....keep it up! 👍😂
I feel like you should have mentioned how Revenge of the Sith on PS2 and Xbox also allowed you to either play as Obi-Wan in the final duel against Anakin and end up getting the canon ending, OR play as Anakin, kill Obi-Wan, and get a non-canon alternate ending. I thought that was worth playing it. Granted I was also 12 and not allowed to play similar games like God of War, which was only better due to the violence and the puzzles. Otherwise, they were basically the same type of game to me.
Seeing the original "true" Battlefront games waaay ahead in front of the crap that EA did as well as seeing the glorious Super Star Wars SNES Trilogy so high up is a massive delight ❤
I am appalled and insulted that Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga isn't on this list, arguably the best Lego Star Wars game ever made, and it's not even acknowledged on the list
Oh man now I realy want to find my Star Wars Rebelion disc again. The game aged really well except for the space battles. I wish someone would make a remake and put the roundbase spacebattle mechanics from BSG Deadlock in.
The Force Awakens did not give us another serving of something we really liked. What it did was take out some key ingredients and threw is some unnecessary ones then tried to give it back to us and pass it off as the same dish.
You almost had me with that Empire Strikes Back "worst film" comment... But I was too stunned to believe someone said that, I just sat there thinking "that was a troll... That was a troll..." And yeah, that was a troll xD
Same here 👍#4 is a very divisive title though, just like they said. But for me, that game, with a small handful of pc mods, is my favourite game of all time. It was a bit unfinished in Console form though, I hate to admit.
@@bassman0704 I'm dying to ask, but I won't give any spoilers to the video for those who haven't finished it yet 😄😄 It definitely gave me a couple of favourites too. It's harder to pick characters we don't like rather than ones we do for #4, which speaks volumes to the character lineup's strength 💪
Jesus when you got to #2 and it was showing the blaster combat...I was about to go insane. Can ONE BLASTER SHOT PLEASE LAND?? It's like the ongoing storm trooper joke, but it looks to be the whole game. That bugged the hell out of me. lol
No Knights of the Old Republic? No Dark Forces or Dark Forces 2? No Shadows of the Empire? No first 2 Super Star Wars on the SNES? There is so much out there than this video.
I'm so surprised he put the force unleashed for ps3 and 360 so low on this list. It's a great game. Arguably one of the better non lego games on this list
Great video. You’re a funny bloke. But did you record some of the VO on your phone? It was fine until about halfway through and then switched back and forth from potato to good.
I'm pretty sure it's a crossover with a board game. That doesn't count towards the list. Apparently, it only goes through original games. Sorry from someone who also owned that game.
Personally I think the new Battlefront 2 is a lot better nowadays now that it's been "fixed", the inky issue I have with it is that it's ssooo slow loading on my PS4 lol...... KOTOR is legendary, I even downloaded it on Android so I can still play it in my phone! Jedi: Fallen Order really surprised me in a good way, really wasn't expecting it to be as good. All the STAR Wars games releases on GameCube were amazing, Bounty Hunter, Clone Wars, and Rogue Squadron will always hold a special place in my heart. But for me, they'll never top the original Battlefront games on PS2 and PSP. Just my opinion lol...... Great great great video though guys, really enjoyable, appreciate it.
You're tripping if you put EA Star Wars Battlefront 2 on #59 and you underrated Squadron by alot. Sure SWBF2 have a shitty launch but the game have gone through alot of changes. The progression microtransaction hasn't been relevant since 1-2 months after its released. It's a really good game now. Even better than Battlefront 1 by EA.
What I'd really like to see is someone take the ridiculously complex, but likely more "realistic," space combat and piloting system from a game like Elite: Dangerous, and slap a Star Wars theme on it. Of course, without the space mining simulator and endless grind of actual Elite: Dangerous.
I found the force unleashed genuinely enjoyable - fun gameplay and an engaging (for me anyway) story. Personally don’t think it should have been so low down, but what do I know?
Battlefront 2015 is my favorite multiplayer game of all time. Put close to 1000 hours in it. While I am very biased and it is my favorite Star Wars game, I appreciate the FAIR review you gave it, it wasn’t perfect, but damn it did not deserve the hate it got in 2015. How naive people were. Thank you for the unbiased review of MY favorite and one of the best multiplayer games of all time. AND YES THE DLC FOR THAT GAME IS GOATED! Outer Rim and Rogue One DLC were sooooo good. One of the last games to make good dlc.
Right before I started watching I said to myself "I will accept no less than either Rogue Leader or KOTOR as number one" and I finished the video puzzled as to how Rogue Squadron could ever rank higher than Rogue Leader. Rogue Leader was the reason I had to have a GameCube. Also, I own the cartridges of all three Super Star Wars games and was the nerd that actually completed them all back in the good ol' 90s. Hot damn were they difficult.
Wow, they weren't lying on the podcast about this being a beast of ranked list!!!! Edit: "That place where all the wind is" I genuinely had to pause while I stopped my laughing fit lol...
I understand your criticism of Star Wars CHESS, But man it’s so nostalgic. I loved the chess battle animations and played it so much when I was a little kid. I was in chess club btw
You are trolling if you think the Force Unleashed had clunky controls, the only thing clunky was the jump, the force was easy to use and throwing enemies and objects alike was fluid. Also yes the first was better than the 2nd, I played both within the last year.
50:57 While I'm a little sad that you rated it so low, I'm still glad that you correctly placed the Wii/PS2 version of The Force Unleashed above the 360/PC version. It's just the better version of the game in content, pacing, and combat.
I love the effort in these lists but cmon. At least try to have them make sense. Number 70 you almost entirely praise, and then number 69, which is HIGHER by your logic, is entirely pooped on. Wtf is the logic here boys? This happens regularly. You praise a game 30 places worse ranked, far more more than you praise the game 30 places higher than it. Makes it a bit hard to take it remotely seriously. I get seriousness isn’t the point… but I thought “ranking” was?
#57 That's my childhood, I remember back then playing every single "open world" game like if it were a GTA. Always trying to kill everything I could before being struck down
Omg I LOVED shadows of the empire when I got my N64 (that might be a litttle bias cause I loved EVERYTHING That N64 released haha) . I think a lot of kids these days don’t quite understand how HUGE N64 was as a jump in gaming technology. I’m not saying that in a derogatory way at all, I just think kids growing up with ps4,5 and Xboxes just can’t understand how HUGE of a jump N64 was in technology when it came to gaming. When I was growing up N64 was just an absolutely MASSIVE jump in gaming technology
Knights of the Old Republic is still one of my all time favorite games. I loved the 2nd one too. The story in these games was 1000 times better than anything the movies have presented.
Both of those games are amongst the top 5 ever, yes! (I personally find replaying KOTOR II is more satisfying and complex) But saying 'The story in these games was 1000 times better than anything the movies have presented' is a simple minded OVERSTATEMENT! Only true vs the utterly meaningless dribble of the Sequals perhaps, otherwise not. Those games were made around the time of the Prequals and the more complex mixed messages of the games is grounded in the same logic and theories as the story of Anakins fall and his redemption via Luke's love. The same as the fact that it is Qui Gong who by rejecting the 'purity' myth of the council is the wisest. Balance and wisdom is the point in all of them! Of the 6 films I consider actual Star Wars I think III and V are the very best in which good does not just happily triumph, just as in real life, the struggle is eternal, without and within.
