One of the biggest surprises on the album. I think these are some of Keith's most personal lyrics accompanied with one of his best vocal deliveries. Easily one of my faves off of the album.

Forward observations

I was a little skeptic about how I felt about this song until Keith gave context in an interview. Now it's one of my favorites. It's an emotion and circumstance many of us can relate to, and I haven't really seen it captured so well in music until now. "Something very unfortunate happened to someone I love very much while I was away from home. It left me feeling angrier and more helpless than I have ever felt, and yet the person who it happened to completely transcended the experience. I tried to follow suit and learn to forgive but I could not. I still cannot. This song is about the karma and the undeniable human desire to seek revenge.” -KB

This went from being my "wtf?!" track to my favourite. The lyrics at the end "There's so much beauty and love, and when I eat his beating heart, I can bring it back to us" (may not have heard 100%) are absolutely brilliant.

This quickly became my favourite ETID song, powerful music.

Sounds like every inch of Keith is angry.

Man, I can always relate to this song. Having an abusive (ex)step dad to my mother, this just hits home, and how I feel about the whole situation.

Not only is this unlike any song I've ever heard, but the fact that it deals with an important issue (sexual assault) at the same time just makes my love for this band grow exponentially.

These lyrics emerge from a very dark place, rife with unsatisfied rage, and I find them to be extremely gripping. Clearly the inspiration for these lyrics left a chasm sized gouge in the poor mans existence. The lyrics cut straight to the point, yet rife with double entendres. Its f&%king brilliant!

Whenever I listen to this song or ETID in general my body becomes compelled to move

I love how with every album I question, "I wonder what they could possibly do to make their next album better and different from the last?" And then they blow my expectations completely outta the fucking water, like getting my ass handed to me in a game of goddamn Battleship. This is by far my favorite track on the album. Don't get me wrong, others are phenomenally written and remind me of the good ol' Hot Damn! days, but this is just so simplistically eerie and dark. Not necessarily the lyrical content, but the music makes me imagine the World's Gnarliest Carnival Sideshow. Those strong-man twins doubling as buffed-out bearded ladies, a human cannonball being shot back and forth in the background, Keith is center stage belting out his shit like a sadistic carnie ringleader, surrounded by contortionists - circling him like tangled spiders - all the while gymnasts are performing in Aerial Silk around the ring. Then, right at 2:05 or 2:17, the gymnasts fucking drop, swinging with the silk wrapped around their necks like nooses.

this is definitely my favourite of theirs.
