I love that the payoff for the joke that Jonathan always gets his lines cut or gets stuck and can’t make it on stage is that he then gets to perform an entire number all by himself. Very clever!
It's my head canon that they couldn't let him onstage too often because his imagination is too powerful, as seen during the mime bit where he dismantles the set with nothing.
Kudos to them for that piano bit in the Nativity. It makes me laugh every time. The fact that they had to sing the lyrics to one song whilst having to sing those lyrics to the tune of another song (in this case multiple songs) is rather impressive.
I love that in the last episode Greg, aswell as being able to fully enter a scene, was the star and got to show off his skills. Is he going to go back to his old ways in series 3 (if there is a series 3)?
i really hope they get comissioned for more. I can't afford to go visiting the stage shows (mainly travel to the venues, tickets aren't unreasonable), but if they could do a version of them either incorporating elements into a new series or as films/features, i'd love to see it
I think Jonathan is the best actor in this show, but because of everyone else's incompetence, he doesn't get to perform much, and when he does, it's always messed up by something else.
Oh - My - God !! that circus scene deserves whatever the English Tony is!! that was absolutely brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!!!!!! thanks sooo much. from New York. theatre is the best ever. nothing matches it!! 🎭✨🤹🏼⚡️💫
I met Greg a few weeks ago after one of the stage shows, one of the girls next to me told him "My favourite part is when you never get to speak!" and he replied "Yeah, that's the director's favourite part too" 🤣❤️
The ensemble number is still one of my favourite GWS moments, the build up with him being cut off before, him performing everything, the irony of performing a song called "we are the ensemble" alone... it's just gold
Seeing all the lines together like this just makes the Ensemble number even better. Also every compilation I watch makes me more attracted to Chris Bean the dirrrecctorrrrr and I don't know why.
In “The tale of the caterpillar” he was the great stag that jumped and got knocked out from the microphone. He was not in the cocoon, that was Chris. Great video though! Such a great character.
