This is really good evidence that Ki-Adi-Mundi is Jar Jar’s Sith Master.

This is rapidly becoming one of my favorite RU-vid channels. Been lurking for years, but lately, you’ve really been winning me over, my man. This video is just what I wanted to see - had a similar theory regarding Ki-Adi-Mundi and the potential to recontextualize his presence in the prequel trilogy by having him be involved in a cover up from the ground floor.

Yours is the only channel which has managed to 'thread the needle' on this retcon of Ki-Adi-Mundi. I don't plan on watching the series (more so due to the creator and how they helped their former boss), but you mad this plot point make sense.

Thanks for the video! For all fans that reject any production and proposal that the Jedi were flawed and corrupt, just a look at Ki-Adi-Mundi should be enough to change their minds. Yoda himself had many of the flaws he recognized the Jedi had (pride, over-confidence, etc).

Kaimir is 100% the master. Even if you ignore the obvious. If you take the masters voice and pitch it up 3 semitones the sibilance around the letter T is an exact match. That actor has an accent/speech impediment that's very very distinct.

I think Ki-adi-Mundi was subconsciously influenced the sith shrine under the temple. It just always pushed him to publicly deny the possibility of the return of the sith so that their influence could grow.

Mundi was a dogmatic psychopath in legends too, had his whole family die all 5 wives and 12 daughters and yet he felt nothing and even told Anakin to do the same after the battle of Jabim killed all his friends and Obi-Wan was kidnapped but looked like he was dead.

This is really a spectacular video and catch. I am embarrassed to admit that I haven't ever thought as critically and dubiously about Mundi as I do now having seen this. And this includes his Acolyte persona! Nothing is random. That doesn't mean everything is intentional either; but it really all fits itself together and you've caught an important idea here.

It makes sense that Sidious would have someone on the inside, to keep the council off his trail. At times i thought it could’ve been Windu except Windu tried to kill him. So Mundi would make sense

Ive been thinking along these lines since the episode. He is also just a great personalisation of the whole attitude of the jedi. Arrogant and dismissive and complacent. What an incredible retroactive addition to contuinity this would be. Take a small background characther (who everyone is now pretending was a major plot point in the prequels) and flesh him out in a way that really subverts expectation but also re enforces the shows message. Im really enjoying acolyte and all the theories. It really shows something is only as good as the lens you see it through. Cheers gen tech for all your discussions around this show. It seems Vernestra Rwohis so intent on keeping this instance covered up because she fears the backlash from the cover up of the Brendok affair. apparently, the cover up is somewhat successful (assuming there is no retcon taking place); since no one questions Ki-Adi-Mundi's assertion that "the Sith have been extinct for a millennia" during the first prequel. Some serious off the books damage control happening - one must wonder why.

2:22 to truly love a person you have to love them with there flaws not just the perfect image created in your mind. I think somewhere within star wars that lesson is hidden too. With how we just love star wars and so on ... And no one being perfect.

You brought up a good point about Absolutes, that is pretty much all the Jedi deal in. The scene in Attack of the Clones where Jocasta Nu tell Obi-Wan that if Kamino doesn’t exist in the Jedi Archives, it must not be a real place. Even though the evidence that Obi-Wan has saying it is there.

One legit observation. During clone wars season 5, there was an explosion in the Jedi temple. Ki-Adi-Mundi was not in that ep, just Yoda, Anakin, Asoka, and Mace Windu, at least for speaking roles. And EVERYONE is all worried about the political backlash of a Jedi being behind the explosion. There is even a minor protest that kicks up. I have to admit, while The Clone Wars is an awesome show, and right at the top of my list when it comes to Star Wars media, politics is often the weakest element in any storyline where it surfaces. I don’t understand the politics causing this turmoil. Or at least it doesn’t seem like the most logical set of circumstances. But the episode definitely also portrays the inequity experienced by the people that serve in the palace, not to mention the inequity experienced by most of the residents of the planet. But I definitely remember a couple of seasons earlier when Mace Windu unironically said to a politically motivated bad guy, “We ARE justice,” I could not tell if the writers wanted me to hear that as a good or bad thing.

Despite her high standing and long career with The Jedi (in the comics), Vernestra Rwoh's portrayal in the show makes her seem as if she's the head of a sub-faction, perhaps in charge of intelligence/investigative/secret agents. Without awareness of her activities in the comics, she seems quite suspicious and fearful.

Ki-Adi-Mundi suffered the same fate as many characters from the OT and Prequels. Disney ran out of ideas, so they murdered his reputation for a momentary synthetic “reveal”. He joins Han, Luke, Obi-Wan, Bail Organa, Annakin and Qui-Gon next to Leia under that dirty sheet.

I remember you mentioned that every army is built for the last war. The Jedi seemed to prepared for the potential return of the Sith by effectively recruiting every potentially strong enough force user they could. the thing is Ki-Adi-Mundi is kind of a really bad fit for a Jedi, yes i know this challenge is also the bash Ki-adi-mundi channel, he just so soullessly and emotionally detached to the point of it being concerning. But he was taken in and trained, and even reached sitting on the council because in order to fight the last war the Jedi want ever single potentially strong enough force user to starve the Sith of potential recruits.

Ki was so messed up that if Bacara had refused for some reason to execute order 66, then Ki would have probably just called him defective. Bacara hated him enough that it was barely a second thought to gun him down, before going back to the battle. It says something that while most clone commanders respected their jedi generals, even if they didn't like them much... Bacara and Ki never seemed to think of eachother with anything more than condescension and disdain.

The Council wanted to get rid of Yoda from the temple, somewhere far away, in order to bait out Palpatine's plan and make Palpatine see the Jedi as vulnerable to enact his plan - which is what exactly happened, however, the Jedi underestimated Anakin's influence.

Another question would be, why are the Jedi always thinking that at any sign of an adversary that is capable of taking them on that the Jedi must cover it up? What are they doing that could be constantly putting their entire order in jeopardy? Also, couldn't that be spun to show the relevance of the order? Normal people have no chance at taking on a force wielder, good of bad, so that is why you need the Jedi -- to protect people from the tyranny that would ensue. Maybe I need a second brain to make sense of this.

I do would like if in the end this series at least shows us a glimpse of why the Jedi Order during the Prequel Era is so defunct. Because until now we only have that they became like this between the Ruusan Reformation and the Clone Wars. Such an interim perspective would be very welcome to me personally, because it helps in drawing a clear trajectory of the institutional corruption of the order itself, which in turn caused people like Dooku and Qui Gon to turn away from them to find their own solutions and paths, no matter where it led them.

However, the writer (CK Kiechel) of the episode has come out and said Mundi didn't know about any Sith in response to "He's not supposed to know anything about the Sith" The writer responds "He doesn't know anything about the Sith? Why would he?" and "He has never known about any Sith at that time" So how could he be "covering up" anything? There's also the whole thing where he was only 70 in the prequels. Maybe he was a clone lol.

Alternate plot for Episode 1 "The Phantom Menace" Qui-Gon Jinn & his young Apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi, are escorting are escorting Queen Padmé Amidala to Coruscant and they get attacked and their ship is damaged. After meeting Anakin Skywalker and his Mom who are slaves owned by a Trader Watto. Instead of "trading" or gambling for the parts they need, Qui-Gon offers Watto the Naboo Starfighter in exchange for Anakin and his Mom and a ship that can get everyone to Coruscant. No one gets left behind and Qui-Gon Jinn is not killed by Darth Maul. Instead everyone arrives on Coruscant, safe and sound. Anakin's Mom is not captured by Sand People, ca using Anakin to Snap and goes out and slaughter a whole tribe of Sand People to try and "make up" for his Mom's death Padmé does not die in Childbirth of a Broken Heart. Inslead, Anakin falls and Padmé both in love and they live Happily ever after as Husband and Rich Senator Wife with Anakin's Mom as their kids Grandmother. Obi-Wan Kenobi is on the Jedi Council with his Master Qui-Gon and his Padawan Anakin Luke is not raised by his Uncle Owen, who is Anakin half brother on Tatooine Leah is not raised by Senator Bail Organa and his wife as a Princess on Anakin No Darth Sidious No Darth Vader No Empire. No Tarkin Plan No Death Star Anakin is not blown up by the Death Star. Just a happy peaceful Star Wars Universe.

I don't agree with your criticism of the Jedi as arrogant and unwilling to take on the responsibilities afforded them by their power. The council's perceived unwillingness to act is their, ultimately well-warranted, caution in the face of a threat they can't perceive because of the immediate problems heaped upon them and their consideration for unforeseen future repercussions. Criticising the actions they do take, stepping up and serving as Republic Army Generals because of their combat prowess, rather than their non-existent tactical acuity for a war that spans an entire galaxy, just feels contradictory. Arrogant and unwilling to act but also making the all the wrong choices when they do.

I have more and more the impression, that the Acolyte is in StarWars-666 regarding the Multiverse of Madness ... eh ... BUT where is Yoda??? :-D
