I love that Lucy was the only rookie who called their T.O. by their first name on the regular. She’s said Tim’s name almost four times as many as he’s said her name.

He called her Lucy ONE time the first whole season! He was such a hard ass. Honestly so surprised he let her get away with how many times she calls him Tim in the early days!

I think it is because he was so focused on making her a good officer so she would be safe on the street. So calling her “boot” conveyed that she still had much to learn. However, her calling him by his first name didn't have an impact on her role as an officer, but rather on how their relationship would be moving forward. I think Tim always wanted a personal relationship with Lucy (platonic or not) which would be hard if she addressed him formally or as her boss.

This is so weird. Bradford is a hardcore hardass you wouldn't think he'd let his boot call him by his first name. Even someone more laid back like Lopez doesn't go by her first name with her rookie.

i never realized how heartbroken he looked at 3:16. no wonder he was so emotional when he said those tim tests don’t make him like his dad, he needed lucy to understand he would never do that to her
