I think their scenes on the boat were the most sensual captivating thing I have seen on a tv show for a while. They had amazing chemistry on this show. It’s bs that he wouldn’t come back!
I love how you can hear the overwhelming change to affection in his tone near the end, especially when he finally starts calling her Charlotte, his Charlotte. I wish they didn't end their story like that.
His tone really transforms over time when addressing her. It starts out firm with even some mockery to it, then becomes so soft and tender. Thanks for putting this together!
gosh this shows overwhelming evidence of his transformation from guarded to soft. to the people who say he was disrespectful and full of himself, I say learn some observation skills. he was a man who armoured his deep feelings. who he was with Charlotte by the end was gentle, affectionate, felt wholly accepted by her, and would have cherished her had they been able to marry. I think people fail to understand Sidney was carrying massive burdens for others (Tom, Georgiana), plus the history and ramifications of those, plus a lot of personal hurt & guilt. Charlotte accepted all of it. she gave him a safe place and that is huge. like this dude's nervous system was lit up all the time, he needed a calm trustworthy person to help him reset. and you see that in how he starts to put down his guard with Charlotte. so the compulsion to slag him just shows a refusal to understand the soul under the protective facade. I see quite a shy man who is loyal and very emotionally complex. maybe he's too much for some to handle but actually this character went through the wringer and for that he remains relatable and a fave ❤
It is so disappointing that Bridgeton that isn't half the series Sanditon is gets a rushed second season and we are left wallowing in heartbreak over the unfortunate ending of this wonderful story.
My favourite: "Charlotte, my dear Charlotte". Very well acted and said. I love you both Rose Williams and Theo James. I just want you both to know, you touched my heart and made me to love Sanditon S1. There's only one thing missing, just a happy ending for these Jane Austen's characters. That is all.
This is amazing!! Thank you so much. New fan here... I just watched the show for the first time last week...July 2022. Binged both seasons in 2 days and now cannot stop fast forwarding and rewatching only Sidney scenes and Sidney and Charlotte scenes. S2 doesn't compare to S1 in the least when it comes to this romance and the chemistry between actors. I love how they wrote Sidney, I was shocked at the ending and him not coming back, but in all honesty, it was also validating for me... seeing such a great love story not be able to live it out...I have that in my own life, too 💙 What an amazing sacrifice he made to save his brother and family. That is about 2M in today's currency... i just can't imagine. And then in S2, I was so angry with Tom for being so ignorant of what he had done and the sacrifice that Sidney did make. I was eagerly waiting for it to be addressed and finally Mrs. Parker did so.
I want more :); Well, I believe that when they were rowing and Sydney was giving her instruction, he referred to her directly without Ms.Haywooding. And then when commenting on Charlotte's preference of Heraclitis he used her first name as well. He may have beeen encouraged by their small encounter on the river :).
I would have said the same until I heard that he was pleased with ending of Sanditon, and he was not going to be in the subsequent seasons. He doesn’t like ‘fairy tale’ endings. He obviously is ignorant of Jane Austen’s novels to say such a thing, shame on him.
It’s me!! I requested this video, and you pulled it off brilliantly! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. Well done, sister!! Now do you know how to make him say my name instead of hers? 😂🤣. Jk. You’re da best! ❤️Sidney’sGirl
@@denifermoreti2021 Sanditon. Essa série é incompleta(não tem final, nem tentaram dá um, pq Jane Austen morreu antes de concluir o livro) e vc só consegue assistir no telegram.
Still not over it. The acting and the actors-it was great. And we deserve better. But seeing that a show like Bridgerton is renewed instantly just emphasises what’s wrong in this world
Its a shame they will make Sanditon another Bridgeton by doing a series 2 and 3. It should be one story with the normal happy ending for the heroine as Jane Austen always created in her novels. Her novels weren't meant to have complex endings. They were neat endings like Dickens works. Good conquers bad. Love conquers all. Full of morality. They weren't meant to mirror true life - that was the beauty of them. Jane Austen was a feminist and she wrote about heroines that got the full happiness they deserved - independent of their status. That's what made them stand the test of time. I'm so disappointed that another series will occur - how boring and 2000's. Theo will not even be in it. I hate Bridgeton and Downton Abbey - Just period soap operas - that are money makers. Let art like Sanditon be left alone - one series only.
@@carollonyx8934 I agree totally. We are living in a money hungry society these days. No art for arts sake. True literature should have no dollar value.
Oh i so agree with the messages - a sensible and decent ending would have been Miss Austin's choice for Miss Haywood. A second and third season will not suffice. And its only for monetary gain. Perhaps this was why Theo James left the show? Won't even bother to watch the next season's. Miss Austens novels were plotted and structured to show that honesty and sincerity prevail against snobbery and societal conventions. That true love would triumph in the end and that nobility and strength of character would be developed by virtue of the protagonist and antagonists difficult experiences. The ending of this story is a travesty - not a tribute to a great writer of 19th century literature!
