The Tau were better when they were unobjectively good. Being the tiny spark of hope that good still existed on a mass scale made the setting more grimdark. But, alas, this is Warhammer, where subtlety goes to die.

Lucius possessing thr Necron Lord was absolutely one of the absolute stupidest ideas of the GW writing staff. Chaos affects the soul, Necrons HAVE NO SOULS. How in the hell is a soul possession supposed to affect a soulless being?

Chaos is more than capable of affecting non-living things just as well as living beings, the criteria for his revival was for the being that kills him to feel pride, and Necron Lord’s arent exactly mindless automata like warriors are

Because the writers need remind us that no matter how garbage tier Lucius is, he cannot die. For f*s sake he resurrected through the body of the guy who manufactured the landmine that killed him. Hypothetically, if you killed him then yourself then the poor bastard who made the weapon would die instead. Never mind that he has been killed before by a guy who held nothing but pure contempt for him. Regarded him as less than nothing. And he resurrected because of course he did. Though to be fair, if memory servers that was his first death.

I agree with you, but the Dawn of War Soulstorm has the Dark Eldar Campaign stating that they do still have souls, their just bout as worthless as can be, as its damn near non-existent, and the taste is, awful. Again i agree with you, just wanted to play devil's advocate

You don't possess a soul... You possess the vessel. The only thing you need is the vessels capacity to retain a soul. That's how possessions work, they share the same vessel and overpower the original inhabitant.

There's a great example of Dark Eldar teaching the Alpha Legion who are truly the masters of ambush and misdirection. It starts the Alpha Legion patting themselves on the back, thinking they're the bee's knees after hitting a Dark Eldar raid. It ends with the Alpha Legion Lord's limbless, impaled body roaring and flailing within Vect's palace - solely for his amusement.

I remember the White Dwarf where Eldred kills Abaddon, however, they did mention they had to play the game multiple times to get this to happen, most of the time Eldred got wrecked.

This reflects in how the story was written too. Eldrad had foresee that specific ending blow to the throat between thousands of visions in which he died instead.

As one of the old geezers who was getting into the game while you were still swimming around in your Dad's ballsack, I first knew of C'Tan as just the mystery makers of those sickass blades Callidus assassins wielded. Should note Marduk and the Word Bearers who teleported from a Necron Lord did so because they were after a device that was messing with the Warp not just attacking it, and left once they got the device. Farsight finding the Dawn Sword was an interesting read Spoiler warning. Farsight and his expedition forces, including three Ethereals, fought Khorne and Tzeentch daemons, as well as Orks. there was also a Tzeentch daemon that had been commanded by Tzeentch himself to not lie. the things that Farsight found to help deal with Chaos were medallions, that not only hurt them but drove them back. each madallion had a six pointed star on it, the Star of David. the daemons could also see the Ethereals, who shoen in the daemons' eyes like bright lights and went right for them.

I've been thinking about it, and I believe the Astartes would accept Witchers into their ranks. Both Witchers and Space Marines undergo intense physical and psychological transformations to become what they need to be. They cull the weak through rigorous tests and trials. Imagine bringing the Emperor's light to the Witcher world and recruiting these skilled warriors into the fold. PS - I hope it would be the Space Wolves! Now, picture this: the Space Wolves discover a medieval world that has no knowledge of the Imperium. They come across "magic" (aka the Warp) and, naturally, they have to purge and corral these unsanctioned psykers, shipping them off to the Black Ships. The thought of the Space Wolves, the most ancient and traditional chapter, encountering a medieval world filled with magic and monsters would probably please them immensely. And the bonus? New Witcher warriors for their ranks! Imagine the Space Wolves in a tavern on this planet with a handful of Witchers and soldiers from both the Marines and the local populace. Drinking, brawling, and just having a merry good old time.

Instead of leading the Nids into a Ork Waagh, it seems a smart move to try and lead them to attack Chaos instead. The Nids afterwards aren't that much stronger, unlike when they chow down on _a lot_ of Orks. Now leading the Nids to the Necron would work even better, except the Nids aren't falling for that one and going to a Tomb World. And the Necrons might take it personally - and that's never a good move.

That would be a great alternate ending, like a reverse Ultron. After flying off SoE jumps to the Warp, encounters Chaos and eventually learns about the Emperor. It then jumps right back to the Imperials and says "never mind what I said earlier, I get it now. For the Emperor!!"

The Tau’s long range hit and run tactics are a near perfect counter to nurgle I also imagine battle suits are a greater protector against disease

Even in the tabletop the incredible firepower of Tau guns tends to nullify the added durability Nurgle corruption gives you. Yeah they don't go down as easily as Imperium troops against Tau guns but the Tau do a respectable job at killing Nurgle units.

honestly I feel like they make chaos marines less durable than they should be. Especially Abbadon the despoiler. He could probably still fight through wounds if he had some slaaneshi/nurglite help (which yes he does get help from all four often).

Each time the Inquisition clashed against the Loyalist Legions would be a great vid. Like everytime a Dark Angel "took care" of a Inquisitor, the Months of Shame, of course, the decimation of the Celestial Lions etc.

Here's some to consider: What if all of the Primarchs (save Alpharius because he landed on Terra) somehow died before the Imperium discovered them? If any one Loyalist and Traitor Primarch switched sides for the Horus Heresy, who would you choose for the best outcome for either the Loyalists, or the Traitors? What if the Silent King never got rid of his Command Protocols and took (almost) all the Necrons with him out of the galaxy to perhaps find a new and better one and come across the Tyranids? What if the Great Crusade had all the Primarchs and none turned Traitor, but there were no Astartes? What if the Beast Orks succeeded in defeating the Imperium? What if the Raptor Project succeeded/was never sabotaged? How would each Heresy/Crusade-era Primarch and Legion fare against the modern Tau Empire?

A video about, what if there were no loyalist elements in the traitor legions ,this would also count for omegon and magnus. So there would be no need for the culling at isthvaan and weakening of the traitor forces.. this would be very intresting to see what all the effects would be on the succes of the heresy.
