So, the way I see it is like 2 super magnets were forced together with the same poles and the and them colliding is how Goku broke his limit. The magnets being Goku's maxed out power and the sprit bomb.
i don't care if broly is stronger than goku because goku achieve this level of power by training and developing himself and remember he is an lower class warrior but broly fall in elite class warrior.

Tbh Goku couldn’t even use ui in The broly movie since he couldn’t use it at will by the end of super and the broly movie is right after the top Goku could only use ui at will in dragon ball super super heroes and the dragon ball super mangas
It's not a mistake, Goku probably wanted to use UI but realised he's too fatigued/wasn't calm enough and went blue instead. Vegeta's green hair was a visual effect/reference to Broly's form. Mistakes of that magnitude don't go unnoticed by the animation staff
