Here is the next episode in web gear basics going on each ammo pouch issued to us army soldiers in the vietnam war from the beginning to the end (this is basic so I am not giving grease gun pouches,1911,m1 carbine or anything else nor am I covering USMC)m1956 m1967 vietnam war small arms universal ammo pouch

What do all the canvas pieces on the sides do? I have two slightly different ones but both 2nd pattern and have the quick release hooks and snaps on both side and slits almost on both sides. Not actual slits I don’t know what it’d be called. Like you could put a Alice clip in it

Those canvas slips on the side are for Grenade Spoons. The snap is for locking it in around the fuse.

Why in black ops they have 30rd alice pouchs 😅 or is that a m67 with grenade tabs like a alice? I only use m67 stuff for my sog impressions

Alder is shown at times with LINCLOE ammunition pouches, they have individual flap covers for each magazine compartment. LINCLOE (Lightweight Individual Clothing & Equipment) was the program that lead to the ALICE system.

All M1956 gear was in OD. You might be able to re-dye, but khaki is not right.

It was too vast for this video hence why I left out anything experimental or not specific for the M4/M16/M14 platform.though it would be a couple hundred different pouches and not just US made it would be a interesting topic for the future

Rocco bro Canada wasn’t in Vietnam... Canadians fought in the US armed forces but Canada was never officially fighting in the war. also the only soldiers in 1974 were marines at the Saigon embassy.

Nuthin. Its just if you're going for accuracy most troops didn't get 1975 ALICE

ALICE was never fielded in Vietnam. Production started in 73, fielding started in 75, and it was not fielded to the Marines on embassy detail. The only even remote possibility of ALICE in Vietnam was with SF and Rangers in 1975+ who "weren't there". So no official documentation. ALICE is a good system, but was never in Vietnam. Hence why he says no.
