It’s one of the most nonsensically goofy sketches ever, and it’s absolutely hilarious. I can’t imagine how this skit was pitched to Lorne, but it’s one of my all time favorites.

The David S. Pumpkin skit was also Keenan's. He seems to have some mystical power to convince Loren to let him do the most esoteric skits with the biggest of A list stars, and they always seem to work. But watch his earlier All THAT work, this is a LOT like the stuff he use to do there as well.

Who would have thought at the first table read of this sketch, that they struck SO MUCH GOLD, that they actually had to reprise this skit in October 2021 when Jason Sudeikis hosted just so people could watch him dance IN THE BACKGROUND AGAIN? Even Fred came back, JUST FOR THIS SKETCH. At this point, Lorne must be like “I won’t even question it. Just do it guys.”

I'd never seen the "What up with that" skit until watching the October 2021 Jason Sudeikis version, then of course had to do a deep dive and watch every skit they made. Was chuckling until 2am last night! Keenan is a treasure and so talented! Love the guests and casts. One of my favorite SNL skits now!

He was not fond of musicals in general, probably because he felt like the plot and characters were constantly, senselessly interrupted. So the way that this sketch spoofs that amused him to no end! Guest are shown previous skits. They don't get to rehearse with the cast. They tell them that he will cut them off and to go with it. When you hear the music, just go with it. They know what is going to happen, but they don't know what is going to happen . . .

My FAVORITE Kenan skit hands down. When he never asks any questions & just starts singing is too funny. Also, Jason doing the "running man" & breakdancing is iconic.😂😂😂 Also, the celebrities are just sitting there looking.
