@@alienatorterminator1543 nah he definitely would not have gotten squashed. Guarding people starting at half court basically STARTED with curry. Dude would pull up from 30 feet and everyone on the court would have an aneurysm trying to figure out what the hell just happened. I mean the entire league changed the way they play because of Steph Curry’s insane shooting and ability to space the floor. In any era but this one he’d only be more dominant since people would just not know how to handle it
@@avataraarow yea, Steph back then would really hurt the game, because the reason scoring was so low in the 00's was because formations was better than man-man. But with Curry stretching it so far, it'd be unstoppable
I just realized Shaq’s deepest three was actually his best three and that was his record breaking three and it was his first three and his last three all in one
@@armanicollins3843 pretty sure he's talking about the Shaq three. Shaq ugly made one three his entire career. A worse team scoring the first basket at the start of a basketball game happens like almost half the time.
General Tempest I don’t think it should shock you. Shaq has a career free throw fg% of 53%. His three point percentage for his career is much, much worse at less than 5%. He has basically only made 1/22 of all of his 3 point attempts
Both of these dudes can hit threes. They're centers though, so the scenarios where they would need to are so miniscule and basically down to a trick play that most coaches wouldnt let it happen regularly.
PE teacher: who has the highest 3-point rate in NBA? Me: Curry? no Klay? no Harden? no ............ ............ ............ Shaq????????????????? PE teacher: CONGRATS!!!!!!!!
This is shocking considering Yao was an amazing free throw shooter, making around 85% once he hit his prime. If he were playing today (especially in Houston, go figure), he'd be one of the most dangerous guys in the league since it's nearly impossible to contest a shot from a guy who's at least a foot taller than most perimeter players.
I 100% think if Yao played in today's league he would definitely be one of the better and best big man 3 pt shooters. Clean jumper and he knew how to get open.
If Yao had played in this era, he would definitely be shooting a bunch of threes every game. Kinda like how Brook Lopez evolved when the Curry era started.
its very possible that it was someones first time at a nba game in the last clip and their mind was blown after they saw shaq hit a three, they were probably questioning reality
Imagine if Yao was a serious threat behind the arc? This would force the enemy team's center away from the paint, or at least the power forward. Basically someone that is tall or has hops. That would be a real hassle if Yao Ming Sam Perkinsnd that shit.
shaq 3 pointer he just chucked it up and it just lucky went in. if u play basketball u know what i mean.. no ONE i mean no one banks 3s , they try to aim for the rim but he missed so hard it banked in.
shooting is not a problem with Yao, he shoots turn around fade away in the post, he shoots long two, he shoots over 85% from the free throw line, but it was "wrong" for a center to shoot three back in the days.
Yeah. In today's game, if Yao is allowed to shoot 3s and practice 3s in training 500 times per day, he'd be the best shooting big-men in the game. Just look at the way he flicks his wrist.
@@youngbae5187 foreign big man usually have extremely good shooting skills, look at dirk, porzingis and jokic. traditional center rely more on power and footwork to play bully in the post, but still, it is not an excuse to not know how to shoot because you got to go to the line at the end of the day @Shaq
