Honestly I’m kinda sad they put Steven in the free rotation cuz then people are going to find out how good he is and more people are going to play him that aren’t in our little community. But we can always destroy them as Steven cuz we have way more experience!
I only played Steven because I wanted to max out all the characters. He's actually really fun. The watermelon perk is so funny because it gets bigger and more annoying.
my Steven is ranked 3k in 1v1's, and it really makes me wonder whether its because no one plays him or if its because im actually good at him idk though, now that hes free we'll see alot more Stevens popping up, cause fun fact is that i've never foughten a Steven in an online match, not in a ditto, not as Reindog, not even on my tertiary Velma have i foughten a single Steven main. still underrated i guess..
How often do you play? I would love to have some games with you and maybe do some 2v2s as Steven! I love your videos and it feels like your the only one making good Steven content
I'll try it out, thanks!! I was considering swapping out triple jump, actually - since he needs to return to the ground to refresh his air-specials anyways.
@@Gordypow I would keep triple since you can always use up special then jump immediately to refresh, so if your in a combo you can save your last jump to land on your platform quickly. jump->up b->jump->up b->jump->up b lets you use more than 2 specials without landing on the ground, but you have to fall momentarily and can lose your combo, so I usually just use it for early kills or to suicide at top of map as a taunt after wins. If you want to use your tether and side special shield a lot tho then I dodge you dodge we dodge is really strong you get them back really fast, usually 50% faster
I'm usually a Batman main but, searching to a little change of style, I started play with Steven and it's really satisfying. Generally I would like to use Caffezila and Tazmanian Trigonometry, the third perk is combined with my partner.
It's something I've recently been trying to mix in more - I hadn't realized quite how useful it can be for movement as well and that's changed a lot for me lol
If you're above the enemy when you do the kick itll sort of pull you into them. And even when you're pulled the wrong direction, itll still sometimes land lol
