I remember being 16 years old with a heart bursting with feelings and music, singing, playing keyboard, composing for a choir, and transcribing 4-part arrangements for a little band. We were good, making a couple of parochial inter-school stage performances, but not a soul cared and no one helped. Not one iota of encouragement. Not even a tape or a photograph remains. It was a long, long time ago, yet it is still felt as a kind of loss. But here Hayley's Dad is giving her the chance of a lifetime, cultivating her voice and gently nurturing her talent and natural musicality with his own subtle arrangements of great material that suit her mezzo range, abilities, and emerging individuality. I feel privileged to be witnessing your unfolding natural musicianship, Hayley, and I can only thank you and your Dad for so generously sharing something truly special - not just the music, which is wonderful, but a unique musical collaboration. I sincerely wish you every success in your music studies and future career and all the joys that a life lived in music will bring to you.

You have such a beautiful, original sounding voice. I love how beautiful you can sing in a lower key. I personally like that more than those who try to belt out entire songs and hit their hoghest notes. It sounds overdone like that and like they're trying soo hard that it's stressful. I believe singing is supposed to be comforting to you not cut throat and stressful. But you have such a beautiful natural voice. And you act like it's easy peazy. Thanks for doing this song. You'll go soo far. :-)

The combination of your dad's wonderful playing - He is awesome by the way, how many instruments does he play? - and your absolutely beautiful voice are one of the finest musical combinations I have had the pleasure to hear. I have watched a few of your tracks. I think you are very good and bring an original sound and interpretation to songs that are hard to cover (because they are so well-known and popular). I think you could be even more powerful singing your own songs. Good voice, smooth sound, good control. You keep it smooth and controlled at the extremes of your range too, and are always in tune. Those are good signs. About my only criticism is that I notice that you often slide up to your higher notes with a quick step-up from the note below it. I would try to get rid of some of that, and practice reaching - jumping from a low to those high notes and hitting them square-on instead of sliding up. But overall, I'm impressed. Good job.
