Marie is unusually quiet by the stove when Ray puts the pieces of the plan together, then smiles sweetly and offers him eggs🍳. I like when Debra & Marie plan together 😂
One of the rare times I agreed with Raymond. Debra & Marie truly did a messed up thing by tricking Robert & Amy to get back together that way. Raymond was right in this episode. Thanks for uploading.
I wish you would’ve showed the scene where Gianni came in and tell her how Amy and him hit it off n want to invite Debra and Ray to a double date. Thus making Ray happy that Marie and Debra’s evil plan is failing, and Debra panicking lol. Lol it was so funny seeing their evil plan going down the tubes.
@@matthewthompson6908 Yeah. But for me, I knew what Marie and Debra were doing was wrong. And I wouldn't have submitted like Ray did and let Marie manipulate me.
In the Italian Families it doesn't work that way. The mother has control over the whole family - same thing like the Jewish Families. With one single statement, they can issue a guilt trip that weighs so much on everyone that people actually end up not doing what they were supposed to be doing lol
@@tombailey837 what's lovable about her? Her delivery is hideous but she genuinely loves her family & wants the best for them. She's also VERY capable of (when told, she's wrong.) apologizing.
Marie: I wanted to see my two boys grow up, get married and give me grandchildren No Marie you wanted Robert to get married and give you grandchildren, and you wanted your precious Raymond all to yourself.
Yup, that’s a fact, that’s why she goes over Ray’s house all the time. She wants to be the disrupter in Ray & Debra’s marriage. She’s never been able to deal w/ their marriage because Debra is the #1 woman in Ray’s life and she isn’t.
I think she wanted them both to have children, the more the better. She described in another episode her dream of "raising her robins to leave the nest and then bring me back grand-robins". As Ray and Debra's kids got older and more independent, she longed for Robert and Amy to have a baby, preferably several..
Debra is a lot more like Marie than people would admit. She's opinionated, judgmental, speaks up, loves & protects her family & stands up to her lazy husband. Even though Ray is a good guy, a really good guy but never, ever lifts a finger to help Debra. Marie & Debra's deliveries are very different but Ray married a version of his mom.
@@irshgrl500 true..........just like Debra still being a terrible cook after all these years. I get it's for comic relief but in reality I would take her to the Doctor to check for brain damage.
The thing is, Marie doesn't want grandchildren per-say, she wants grandchildren that shower her with unconditional love and affection. Once they stop doing that, they are of no use to her and she seeks to replace them.
That was literally the problem all along. Their whole arch was Marie learning to accept her own mortality and begin preparing her successor, while Debra finally accepts her Barone-ness and the fact that she's next in line to run the circus.
A LOT like Marie. Sometimes when they stand side by side you could see they were the exact same height and had the same expressions when they were scolding Ray, Robert or Frank about something.
That's no lie. For me it was especially true because I was born prematurely with health problems in my youth. I heard about it regularly. I hated it growing up. It felt more obligated to care her when she got old than my older siblings who got to experience her life longer. In retrospect I'm grateful because she prepared me for my health challenges I'm experiencing now.
I would actually rank this as one of the top 10 episodes of ELR. For once the roles are reversed where Debra is the snake and Ray actually wants to tell Robert the truth because he actually cares about Robert’s happiness. Debra claims she’s doing this for Robert and Amy when all she cares about is being the one to make Amy happy and helping her marry Robert. You may notice throughout the series that every time Robert and Amy break up, Debra ALWAYS takes Amy’s side even when she dumps Robert for no good reason. This episode tackles the issue on toxic relationships as if their plan had worked, the marriage most likely would have ended badly as Robert would always have jealousy of any other guy who so much as looks at Amy looming over him. Marie even proves this doesn’t work as he discover she pulled the same crap on Frank and look how they ended up.
@@Person-mh6xq In “what’s wrong with Robert” the episode opens with Amy crying over the fact that she dumped Robert on her birthday just because he didn’t give her an engagement ring. In “Lone Barron” they break up because Robert hasn’t even settled into his new apartment yet and she’s already decided to move in and redecorate the whole place without even talking to him first about it. And in “Confronting the attacker” when Roberts dealing with PTSD, she dumps him again just because he’s going through a really hard time instead of trying to support him and in the end, he’s the one who has to beg for her forgiveness. Robert defiantly screwed up at times in their on and off relationships, but there were times she just wanted to blame others for the fact she wasn’t getting the wedding of her dreams when she wanted it.
And as later in the episode proves, if Amy and the other guy hit it off, Robert will feel worse and she won’t go to him. There wasn’t even a guarantee they would get together.
@matthewriley7826 My Mom just passed away; my family just had her funeral over Mother's Day weekend. My Dad and my brother made it clear that my sister-in-law is not to set me on date because it would tick me off.
when raymond says something witty and intelligent you know it is the writers not the character as raymong was and always will be an IDIOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
