So,this may be a silly question for you but forgive my ignorance on this subject,lol.How would one go about finding out the information needed about one of these mirrors and also,I have some old Art pieces that are not signed and cant find them either online but one is at least 90 to 100 years old bc I have pictures of my grandparents with it in the background.Also,one of the frames is a bright gold and very detailed,anyway thanks so much for sharing your wisdom🤗✝️🤩

I have a nice 4' x 4' 1994 Mirror and your video has me thinking about listing it on ebay. It would be nice to see a video about freight shipping and how you pack fragile items like this. I watched your video on the stained glass you packed to ship. You are really getting some fantastic information out to your viewers.

Thanks once again for great info, finding you on here after many years of watching resellers on RU-vid gives me that same feeling as when I find a home run item in the wild. You are the best kept secret on RU-vid, idk how you weren’t recommended to me earlier the algorithm needs to smarten up. Thanks Don

I bought a brand new old fashioned mirror for $5 in 1962 and it continues to hang on my wall, a favorite piece in my home. HOWEVER, it needs to be reguilded. IF you have a second, are they worth much when you refinish them? GORGEOUS MIRRORS you are showing...I love mirrors!

How do you take a photo of a bar mirror with advertising on it without having a reflection in the mirror?
@digicthus
@digicthus 5 лет назад
For bar mirrors I always put a sheet up behind me and take the picture on an angle up or down. You see the sheet but no camera or people. Also make sure to use a diffused light source and no flash, it just makes for better pickup of any lettering on the mirror. Hope this helps. Cheers!

Mirror mirror on the wall, which one has the biggest profit of them all? People pass on mirrors all the time. I accidentally passed on one nice beveled. I tried to get others to take it and no one would. Any kind of damage scares away 95% of resellers. Wow. Shocking how people won't even pay $ for art or posters as well. I found a poster Goodwill and a thriftstore missed that was flipped over and jigsaw puzzle glued on back. $200 poster from a Jazz festival and $40 worth of frame..

Was just at an estate sale. I had a box of letters postmarked 1917 with 1 cent George Washington stamp. I had a nice older gentleman tell me the stamps werent worth much so I left them. I will never let someone talk me out of buying something again. So mad at myself. Im sure he grabbed the box after I left.
@TheAuctionProfessor
@TheAuctionProfessor 5 лет назад
In all honesty he was more than likely correct on the stamp. That sort of thing was made by the millions. We have been into stamps for over 40 years, and would have more than likely told you the same thing. The letters themselves though could be worth something. Old love letters, or soldiers mail for the war could have carried a value.

Just be careful, and make sure you look them up. Looks alone aren't the determining factor, since some are modern repros, and others are vintage reproductions of even earlier times.

When you have them pick it up either on local pickup or for freight how do you prove that it was received without any tracking number? Thanks.

If they pick it up in person you have them sign a pickup slip, and add their drivers license number to it. If it's picked up by freight you have a pickup slip as well as a delivery signature from the freight company.

Anyone ever sell vintage matches? I just inherited a boatload. I assume I should be looking for famous hotels, restaurants, anything related to historical events? And the rest I will lot up & sell in bulk. Some are very cool to look at, I think an artist could have a field day. Secondly.. any special precautions to keep in mind when it comes to shipping?
@TheAuctionProfessor
@TheAuctionProfessor 5 лет назад
We sell them all the time for good money. The best ones are Feature Matchbooks. We've sold some of those for hundreds. If they have matches in them then they must only be mailed via ground. It is illegal to ship them via any other means.
@MK-ih6wp
@MK-ih6wp 5 лет назад
@@TheAuctionProfessor oh ok. I assume they sell better if you keep the matches intact, which I prefer to do, simply because I don't want to run the risk of ruining them. Great to know they can only be shipped via ground. Makes a lot of sense. I'll let you know how it goes & if I find any premiums! So far the coolest ones have been from Sweden, really delicate packaging detail. Go figure!
@TheAuctionProfessor

Do a comp search on eBay for Feature Matchbooks. Those are the ones you. Most foreign matchbooks don't sell very well as a general rule.

We've done this for almost 30 years, and experience is the best way. Research, and constantly looking things up is how we learned. The back of a mirror usually tells the true age. That's the first place to start.
