These cats were truly revolutionary! By this time of the late 19th early 20th century, jazz/swing hadn’t even been invented yet, let alone found its way to Paris! Ragtime maybe, but this swing was truly ahead of its time!
No. The song is underrated. The movie is awful. It begins in the premise. We have an absent-minded rich woman who inherit all of her money to cats, but throwing her life-long loyal servant to the wolves. Can anybody blame him? He wasn't even a true villain. Villains are cruel. All he did was throwing them outside, while he could've easily poison them. Even in the final battle, he never attempted to kill them. Just restraining them. A normal story would put Edgar as the hero, with the douches as a rich woman who wants to kill her servant when he outlived his usefulness. What does this story tries to tell us? That rich people are the elite and people of poverty should be grateful when they get as much of a sideway glance from the fat cats. Overall, it's one of those movie you watch as a child, but no one who was born after 2000 would watch it by choice.
@@anttwo IKR. I assume Disney wanted to take this poison out of his system. Otherwise, i have no explanation why would he give permission to do this movie. Even Phil Harris wasn't worth the while.
You know what I find funny, people always comment on how the siamese cat is playing with the chopsticks and how that's supposed to be quote on quote "extremely racist" for a kids movie, but they never talk about how Duchess literally says "if you want to turn me on"
@@romanvalgo not really the way they talk really but the siamese here slamming a cymbal on its head and playing piano with chopsticks and singing about fortune cookies is worse and the "sex joke" wasn't really even meant to be sexual it was a saying as "if you want to get my attention"
I know this is a lyrics video but i had to come here to listen because no one ever hosts the version with the intro anymore but the beginning slaps :///
In Italian, this song was translated as "Everybody wants to play the jazz", and lyrics are TOTALLY different too...don't ask me why 😂 maybe only the last part is pretty similar to the original XD
@@kianwelsh4451 I know. I used to listen to all the Disney soundtracks growing up. Not sure why I’ve never watched this movie. I think I will today. I’ve had Disney plus for a year now. lol
aww, you cut out the siamese's lines... why's everybody do that? That made me laugh my ass off, as a kid. (yes I realize it's not PC, but it was self-deprecating, anyway)
@@hurleyfrancois4060 Darude Sandstorm is a semi-meme song from the early and mid 2000s. I'm not super familiar with the joke of it myself but i'm pretty sure the joke is just saying that when a person asks "what's this song" or "who's it by" people would respond with "Darude Sandstorm." Yeah, I know it's weird. No, I don't understand why people did/do it.
