thank you! Your accent and smile are both adorable ! I'm french and I don't feel our pastries are this heavy after watching your ingredients ! Gosh, it has to be very very good !
This is just custard and pastry. Dont call it Vanilla Slice. If you're going to make it, do it traditionally. It needs custard applied in a slab form not fancy splotches and its needs icing on the top. I WAS going to make this but now I'm not so keen. Disappointing
Maybe in your country that is the advice. In the UK, The Food Standards Agency says "Lion Mark" eggs, which include almost all of the eggs produced in the UK, are virtually free of salmonella. for further reading on UK egg use, check the following pages on the egginfo site: www.egginfo.co.uk/eggs-safety/salmonella www.egginfo.co.uk/egg-safety/storage-and-handling
This "custard" recipe is a joke on so many levels. The ingredients are all completely wrong for a proper crème pat. To anyone wanting to sample a proper vanilla slice, ignore this video completely and look for one where the chef knows what they are doing. The Da Malat video shows how it's done.
