@@RichardYangPiano lol that’s a tough question Richard. In no particular order, I think these are some of my favs (without including everyday world): Mixed Nuts (the left hand is so cool and I love the energy throughout the entire song!) Grand escape (the song is so technically difficult yet manages to not be “noisy” at all. Definitely one of Animenz’s best arrangements imo. When that climax hits I feel like I’m floating.) My dearest (I got emotional in my first listen. I love how much musicality Animenz has in his performance.) Butter-fly (The switch from ballad to rock to acapella is so amazing because he makes the same melody sound new and refreshing every time.) Ao no sumika (This is personally a really biased pick because I like the original song. Animenz basically summed it up with his own description: I love how “blue” the song is. His arrangement really elevates the song.) Crying for Rain (I really like this song but I’m not really sure I can explain why! I did notice Ao no sumika has a similar left hand pattern, so maybe that’s it?) With your drill, pierce the heavens! (A very underrated Gem that I haven’t seen anyone on RU-vid cover so far. I love the part where it builds up to a climax then suddenly becomes unexpectedly calm. It’s only 2 minutes long so I’d love if you do a cover on it!) Change the world (Some bias here, since I’m currently practicing this one as my first Animenz arrangement because it seemed relatively easy. Still, this is another arrangement that made me emotional in the first 10 seconds. The feeling of nostalgia in this song is only matched by Butter-fly, and I’ve never even watched either inuyasha or digimon!) Black catcher (Pure energy! This arrangement always gets me pumped up, and watching Animenz play at 200bpm tempo is cool too.) Sincerely (I actually heard this one very recently, but I fell in love really fast. The fast runs sound so nice and I didn’t even realize it was 8 minutes long because of how engrossed I was) I actually have way more that I like, but I won’t bore you with them anymore (unless you’re curious). I’d be thrilled if you ever performed any of these someday! (PS, I’m the guy who replied to your cruel angel’s thesis performance on Reddit)
@@aidenchoe4971 Looks like i covered a good number of these. I’ll probably eventually cover everything on your list, some are in the works already. Just keep monitoring my Animenz playlist. I hope to be the channel with the most Animenz arrangements.
@@RichardYangPiano honestly, I think you already achieved that goal! I don’t know anyone else that has done as many Animenz arrangements as you, other than Animenz himself of course.
A lot more difficult than I imagined. This is one of the few that relies on muscle memory. For the fun of it, I have an unreleased version of the original Bios, looking for some feedback. I kinda messed up near the end, so when I have time I’m gonna re-do: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bOxOVf-K-lE.htmlsi=v1i2J_80EMXTwrj1
@@RichardYangPiano @RichardYangPiano Thanks for showing me this - I'm sorry I didn't see it until now! I think your rendition is looking really killer at this point. Of course, you know what to fix regarding the missed notes at the end. Apart from that, I'm just worried about how you handle the melody in your left hand at 2:44 in the video - think you're seriously bending the rhythm away from a standard in-time 3-3-2 (some rushing, some pausing). And in general, I think working on your micro dynamics like James Chou is a sure fire way to elevate a good performance even better. Either way, I think you're on track to a performance that beats Animenz's original (he rushed it a bit to get it out asap back in the day), and think you've done a great job!
@@boredPianoAdv Good point on the 3-3-2. I had just learned the notes in that section. I don’t quite have the mental capacity to take care of the 3-3-2 yet. I actually ended up with a different recording. I recorded a MAX speed version. 3:25, beats original by about 30 seconds. Will be very exciting when released.
@@RichardYangPiano didn’t have a certain ordering when I commented but four that come to mind are idol, colors, my dearest (the newer version) and souls refrain (tamashii no refrain). Honestly there are more than 5 that feel “top 5” lol
Are you using a USB A-B cable to connect your piano to your computer? If not, are you using a MIDI-USB cable? Which one has the advantage in terms of delay & sound quality? And are you using a non-resistive 3.5 audio cable? Sorry for the many questions
MIDI to USB cable and a regular 3.5mm audio cable between laptop and piano. Nothing special, no audio interface. You install ASIO4ALL driver, that’s what reduces the delay to a minimal.
thank you for the reply! I received delivery of N1X yesterday. It's a very fine instrument. It's all thanks to your kind answers and amazing performances. I may not be as good at playing as you, but I will try my best to play like you. Thank you Richard. God bless you!
