Thanks Brad for a very good informational video! It helps all of us fishermen appreciate the fact that we keep only what's legal so our kids and their kids will be able to catch and cook the same fish as we did in the future!!! My wife and I have already entered the tournament and plan on taking First Place in all spots! LOL Either way, we plan on catching a lot of Pompano! Really Brad! You know you were gonna catch hell for fishing right next to the "NO FISHING" sign. You can read right? Just because it was Kelton there doesn't make any more legal. 😠 Good job dad! 👍
I made the same observation. There is no fishing allowed on that side. The sign doesn't say it's contingent with boats being at the ramp. Brad was the only one fishing there. All the other anglers on that pier were in permitted areas. The same rules apply to all. It sets a bad example for Kelton, and it doesn't help other anglers either. I like Brad's videos, but this is disappointing.
100% Agreed Jenn. With this trio of guys making a good income off fishing videos, you would think he would absolutely obey every fishing law and sign. But now looking back on it.....Brad has been the main RU-vidr getting checked by fish and wildlife and pissing people off in general. Coincidence? Hmmmm 🤔 Beach Bum is doing it right! Sign says no Fishing. Not no fishing when boats are in the ramp. Don't know if it's a ticketable offense but if so, if they write you a ticket take your lick.
Maybe it's just me, but I love the videos when any of you talk to conservation staff. I also think it would be awesome if you could get DNR officers sit down and go over rules (boating, crabbing, shrimping, limits, etc.)
Had a thought, I would like to see one of you guys fish for carp and compare how they fight to saltwater fish. Never caught a lot of the bigger species in the salt but carp pull different from anything else in fresh. I know it's a long shot but just a thought
Just saw this...FWIW, I've caught more than a few 10-15 lb grass carp over the last several years...strong runs early, but then they get tired and they just get real sluggish and hard to get in because they get close and make a lot of short runs. For my money, saltwater fish, especially in the surf, are a lot stronger for their size...much rather catch something out of saltwater. Just my 2 cents...
@@iancaen2977 I agree with you on grass carp, especially if the water is under 80° but it is a totally different fight from a common carp. Even a little 4 pounder will scream drag like a redfish lol

Ah, dude, I don't want to hear about "windy. Swear to God, every time I trailer my big boat and point it toward the gulf, the wind starts blowing 40 MPH. A couple of years ago I went down there for a week with my son and a hurricane FORMED in the gulf the day I left Austin!
It's great that you take your kid fishing! If there were exceptions to the No Fishing sign, I'd imagine they would post it there. I'm thinking there are no exceptions. If you maintained a boat long enough, you'd realize fishing line floating around the marina is a killer to lower units.
Know what’s funny? Brad, Brant and Matt’s videos are all basically the same. Yet we cannot help but watch. It’s like swamp people. The exact thing happens every time but… yeah.
