The competitive aspect of all physical sports is tainted by PEDs, unfortunately this objectively disqualifies any of them from being 'the greatest sport'.

I know they don't understand and don't care about it. But, I'm going to do it anyway. If I have to listen to them talk about things I don't like nor understand, they do too. And if you can't abuse your friends, who can you abuse? My closest friend is obsessed with mopeds, for god's sake! I'm talking to old school ones with pedals and two stroke motors. He has about 20 of them! So, he can listen to me talk about my last gravel race or the new crankset once in a while.
So true, no point talking about it to normal folks. Everyone that meets me nowadays questions me - "Are you still Cycling?" I just twist and respond - "Yeah, I still workout a little" mere mortals don't get the real feeling of being on a bike, wattabombing on a slope.. let them be.. !
I truly believe that, even considering that I am absolutely that annoying cycle-boy that constantly talks about cycling, that bros talking about their jiujitsu thing is absolutely the worst example of this phenomenon. My theory is that they catch some organic neurological parasite from a nasty mat that makes ‘em stoopid.
I believe that nobody cares about my cycling ventures, the same way nobody cares about any other hobby except for the person speaking. But we can't just be quiet all the time.
Racing and watching taces can be utterly boring. No, it is boring. I have been bired shiftless IN races. But cycling is a beautiful thing. The fitness, speed, new places, bikepacking and Z1/2 pleasure rides are a blessing. But my apologies for talking about cycling…🙄
