It's faster, but less efficient. The upper sides and the roof are un viewable. Meaning diamonds get lost.

Regular strip mining is still much more effective. It's faster if you have a good pickaxe, and it uncovers almost twice as many blocks.

For bedrock the only way to crawl is when you sprint in water, trapdoors don’t work.

Back in the day diamonds weren’t only at Y12 but from (correct me if I’m wrong) Y10-Y15 this meant that mining two block uncovers 3 blocks more and is more affective, mining a two by two is the most affective as you uncover 8 blocks in total, this way you can uncover more diamonds, travel the least, and still be efficient

You can also just do this with a boat or an ender pearl. This method is already used by speedrunners to build a portal to get to the stronghold.

Here in bedrock, swimming into a 1x1 hole lets you go as fast as swimming without any hunger usage whatsoever. Seriously, you guys have the worse version.

I don't know if this still exists, but in bedrock edition, me and my brother discovered that you could crawl before the crawling update came to bedrock edition. If you swim into a 1x1 tunnel, you'll keep swimming, even though there's no water. You can even sprint while doing this.

Bedrock has sprinting when crawling with swift sneak. Combined with the edge-of-reach instamine glitch, you can mine deepslate as fast as you move with a diamond/netherite efficiency 5 pic while crawling

On Bedrock Edition if you have swift sneak you can just sprint and sneak or sprint crawl by just regularly sprinting and it’s much faster than what you showed.

Pretty common for the last couple months for speed runners to use a boat setup into a sprint crawl . The method allows them to move faster while crawling but also to jump to go even faster , k4yfour has a video demonstrating how the same concept can apply to bridging.
