i dont know about this one. it should have peaked by now but they just hit another all time player peek in settlers. That man just cant get bald enough
My first 200-300h were absolutely f2p, could go on but decided if that's my "main" game now apparently I'd be down supporting the team behind it and make my life easier at the same time, so it's absolutely a free game no questions about it.
@@nuudelz3711 lmao at the time max I've got were red maps and surely I had no idea about at least half the mechanics, also after d2 4 tabs seemed more than reasonable, just don't hoard useless stuff.
I was a huge D2 Andy I played in the POE beta but never explored it much until recently. It's been fantastic experience. It definitely feels like a D2 predecessor
@02:30 my brother had an Amiga 1200 and was writing A4 handwritten back to back programs in Basic when he was 9...definitely on the spectrum and interesting to grow up with
What's good about poe is the health and mana potion qol. It doesn't hindered your attacks while replenishing your flask. And the diversity of skills for every characters
Okay, I'm calling it now. The reason Chris has stepped back from normal POE, is because he is behind the scenes creating a POE world inspired card Game, like Hearthstone. They've joked about this several times, would not surprise me if it was actually true! Gigachad Chris!
I think the neverending kickstarter campaign actually is what keeps the soul of GGG alive. When people stop being happy with the company, they will stop buying supporter packs. It's not a subscription, there's no malicious gambling
When you keep asking about the card game there is an employee at GGG who made the card game Sorcery TCG that launched about a year ago. Its doing the same thing that MTG did in the 90s where it only uses handpainted fantasy art for its games. It will have an new card expansion I think this year or within the next 6 months or so
Honestly, to me, Kripp was the father of PoE *AND* Twitch. Never a fan of Twitch, but honestly, Kripp was the definition of the golden age of Twitch. He was *LITERALLY* that dude who you watched gaming. Like, you'd just watch his gameplay, and he'd talk about the most mundane shit while streaming... and it was awesome. But yeah, this is coming from a dude who shared their playstation / computer with siblings and friends, so it was nostalgic to a degree. Watched Kripp enjoy no life PoE, to transitioning to ???? Hearthstone gameplay. Kripp dying to DD is still so fucking iconic. Some more obscure shit is him talking about buying budget coca cola and budget OJ... to which he kept under his table, because cool air goes down, so it's like a mini fridge there. (A joke I still constantly use whenever it's appropriate, lol).
played Diablo when i was 6 years old, it was one of the coolest games of its time, i use to watch my brother play this game all the time and when he stopped i would hop on and stay up all night in the basement playing Diablo, my parents where at Bingo and we always had baby siters and they would bring over the coolest games of all time, and Diablo was one of them, D2 is King and will always be King, back when there was no internet no hackers dupes or cheaters just you watching ur boys play and they watching you play, and then the Lan Somtimes Not Even Death Can Save You From Me
" we thought everyone was bad at making ARPGs and we can actually make a good one" and so they indeed did, what a GIGACHAD. No empty words or promises, just delivered facts and the best ARPG ever made.
Actually the game is free and also comes with the same storage space for free that D4 has but also has 12 free character slots and the 4 free stash move to standard after every league so you don't even necessarily need to empty those tabs out after each league if you still want to play that toon in Standard you can the tabs are just converted to remove only. Could you imagine if D4 did that? Oh wait they have trouble with an amount of stash you only need 1 hand to count... Why are some of you guys ok with the shit storage options you have no option to increase in d4 but whine if you have to spend like $40-$50 to get plenty of custom storage options. Some people I swear.
Another thing on people arguing about having to buy stash tabs is that they will transfer to poe2 so you get twice the value out of them. I think you only "need" to spend $30 to get the tabs you need. So $15 avg for 2 incredible games... complaining about that would be insane
As someone whose bought 3 big boy supporter packs no i dont think its weird. I do it to support an amazing game. Nobody HAS to buy anything. $40 for stash tabs IF you love the game. If not its free.
The packs and MTX's are how they continue to make money after people buy their stash tabs. That's why the MTXs have gotten better over the years. Seems smart to me.
everything would be OK if they learned how to do boss fights. currently it's a mess, balls are flying and the boss sits in the bushes and shits. there's no fighting there, it's just pissing off players with bosses that can't be hit
@@zeimon2 making new accounts is free, i know there is free character cap, i thought people smart enough to understand that i am talking about mule accounts when i said "game is free to play". You can multibox PoE.
I wouldn't say that some kids are just smart as hell very very early on my oldest daughter was at a 7th grade level when she was in the 3rd grade. By the time she was in 8th grade she was awarded a presidential certification of educational excellence signed by the president that year (Obama) at the time that they only gave to the top 3 students in the school. But every year of school she had perfect A's and was also in several other activities like Choir, Band, and a sort of club for kids that wanted to get into the health industry like doctors nurses surgeons and researchers, and this was before high school even (here high school is 9th -12th) She ended up getting a 87k scholarship to a somewhat local University to my State. And is now interning at a medical facility in Romania of all places. But when I was in school back in the 90's we def had some very very young kids that spent every spare minute in the computer lab making simple games for the Apple IIc before basic came out.
if they add a card game to the game I think it should definitely not be purely cosmetic. They could just give us another way to earn gold while winning card tournaments or something
I get a little triggered with free to play when they have pay to win tabs. I understand them doing it but just own that is kind of the small fee everyone has to do to compete. I'd literally not play the game and trade if I had to mule. Saying it's a 10% advantage is laughable. Most people aren't professional streamers.
it is not about self controll with spending... for me it is form of showing apreciastion of their good work on essenstialy free game and secondly - it is fun just have option of aquireing physichal memorabilia :)
When i first saw poe in my freshman year of college i couldnt stand it and stuck with d3. It wasn’t until i had finished school i felt the call of the raeclast.
28:20 - He plays every league lol but some hold his attention for longer than others. Every few days there's a stream on his youtube channel and he's killing it in Settlers.
19:10 I have been asking GGG in G1 to do environmental destruction and dematerialization of entities so it just looks like the nebula tileset hideout when using really strong skills that could be considered cataclysmic [mostly when reaching endgame and could include special interactions with the camera, illumination system like they do in poe1 with solaris and lunaris... winter storms, smokes, terrain modifiying skills to take advantage of the hydrophysics that they have been developing. The tilesets themselves could be more dynamic and be of harm or of aid to player. Think something like doryanis 2.0 with a lot of traps with projectiles, being able to disable the the mechanics or the machinarium itself if powerful enough and synergies met, using the projectiles shot at you against enemies, destroying ground traps with a slam... etc, it would be just an example of tileset design, others could have eldritch themes, like when you fight Malachai, tentacles could try to grasp you and you have to quick react pressing a button... monsters falling of edges on elevated platforms and that could synergize with chance to flee / terrorize support - lava pits, etc... so many stuff. I really need to try getting these to them through something more formal but Im not sure how lol
The only thing that will surprise me is if they resurrect the Hellgate London universe and make a new game like Hellgate. I'm only waiting for 2 new games, a continuation of Hellgate and Sacred (pls not console game).
Hellgate redemption (probably a placeholder) was announced this year as far as I remember? Quite funny that this an TQ (different team though) got some more to show eventually.
You are missing the point - it is a free to play game they have to make money to continue developing the game. It is a totally ethical mechanism to facilitate/sustain the company.
@@MrRafagigapr You can feel immersed into the world, you don't necesarily need to feel like you're the MC for that. D2 is pretty good at that, PoE... not so much for me.
@@MrRafagigapr This is not completely true, some are. Granted though, audio does a lot of the heavylifting when it comes to immersion in isometric games, but there are still plenty of things you can do visually in an isometric game to try to immerse the player. Try branching out from the normal isometric games you play and you might realise that.
@@Windsouls Not gonna lie I've never felt "immersed" in any arpg. Nor do I care to. Its a game where I make fun builds, kill things, get loot, craft, etc. Immersiveness is near the bottom of me caring about.
My opinion is: PoE 2 will more than likely have a rough launch (it's inevitable), but I also believe, given time, PoE 2 will shape itself into being a really good ARPG ultimately. Just think it'll take a bit of post launch support to get there. Regardless I'm probably going to have fun with it day 1
you lost me there: 23:50 you say it's a lot of money to support our beloved free to play game, but it's ok to spend 25k dollars on a shitty diablo mobile game. Also people are free to choose either they want to donate money to their beloved streamer like yourself.... hypocrite
PoE become not enough grind in my mind, way too many ways of getting good gear nowadays. Used to take a couple of weeks before a character felt somewhat geared out now it's maximum a week before you can faceroll all content. Maybe it's due to powercreep or simply all deterministic crafting, fracturing bases etc. Anyway still top tier game but somethings amiss for me.
To quin question why is WOW dogshit..you are a milionare streamer with a good take on a streaming you understand how it's done..so how do you not understand why WOW and diablo is bad? Let me tell you It's because it is for EVERYONE why GGG has a success? Because they target specific group that you and I for example are part of and that is a group of peopel that likes MINDLESS GRIND in games WOW doesn't do that wow does all for everybody with a little investment Diablo is on the same page It's like IPHONE vs ANDROID? why people buy iphone talk about iphone like it's something GREAT because they also target specific Group of people
GGG and PoE is over rated. PoE ripped off Diablo 2 so hard. PoE is Diablo 2 with crafting, bosses and infinite dungeons. Thats it. They are not brilliant or original. They copied D2 and made it live service. Wow cool story.
