For those that disagree: I am happy if you think Goro is OP, more good kameo's the better! give it time, i think people are just wanting to use the new dlc. Also people will soon realize that her mix is fake most of the time. Cancelling into any move from grounded ferra stance on block leaves a huge gap you can jab or poke through. That being said, I do agree with you Diff, Ferra is still a better kameo for most of the cast than Goro.
@@DiffI am surprised more people dont play scorp/janet more, she doesnt help in neutral or give mixups but provides +damage and conversations off of everything with scorpion including his armor and back throw!
Ferra with liu kang has some crazy tech like a combo from full screen and new combo extensions. He also can stay safe on block for his new bicycle kick with ferra
one thing that i found while playing against a buddy of mine is that, as your going for the overhead or low mix up right after the pain and gain, your opponent can actually interupt you and just press buttons, and they can get a full combo in turn.
The most satisfying thing about Ferra for me so far is landing a 51% combo online as Omni-man. Now did it take the full kameo meter and 3 bars of meter? Yes. But the dude rage quit so it doesn't matter 😂😂
A trick I do with ferra scorp is I do his mid, mid, summon up+ferra then TP. Ferra will jump on your back as soon as you switch sides then you can either use the jump atk, pain and gain or land and 50/50. it punishes D1s after the mid, mid and kombos and if they dont D1 most ppl the first time will try and punish the TP but ferra gets on your back so fast that you can instantly use her jump atk.
most of the time, canceling into anything from ferra stance on block leaves more than just an armorable gap, it leaves a gap large enough for a jab string so if you see ferra come out on block(grounded) just jab for full combo. be careful about her armor after damage buff though, she gives armor during the gap if used quickly after buffing.
@@Diff to my knowledge, the only string you cant jab or poke through is Geras’ f44. Most of the time characters have enough range with their d3/d4 to interrupt even if the string has pushback before the ferra move, and if it really is too much space between you and the opponent, chances are you can just backdash and proceed to wiff punish.
@@Diff Still labbing Ferra, I am finding some strings/buttons that make the gap small enough but a lot of them arent worth using. but scorpion has his b2 that makes the gap small enough so they cant jab/poke :) Update: Yeah Ashrah is busted with ferra. I would check out that team if I were you.
It's important to note that ferra's let me ride ambush kameo does not need a full kameo bar to work. Even though it uses a full bar of meter when it's full, you can still use it at half kameo meter. I can't remember if this was explicity stated in the video
I think he could use a cooldown buff if he ever wants to see the same level of play as past khameleon, stryker/lao, and cyrax kameos - 40 seconds is WILD
I’ve enjoyed goro and baraka because I still use the half kameo move to make the special safe but try to save my full kameo for a late round rob cause goro does in fact do insane damage
Ferra can also do a throw, even though it’s not shown in the move list. So technically Ferra has a 30/30/30 mix but you can’t combo from the throw 🤷♂️
I've done a whole season w/o using kameo other than the grab (12%dmg) and was in the middle of demi god. So im sure they're players that can wait for goro when they need him
The pain in gain is good on set up noice. I played this morning and my opponent tried to use it but on footsies and he’s always get speared out so projectiles can stop pain and gain from armor.
4:39 yeah you’re right that combo with shang does take 4 bars BUT on Reiko it still does 81% which is ridiculous and without the upblock punish it still does 70% off a mid command grab Also, to beat the pain and gain after hard knockdown, they could wakeup with 12 or another fast string and probably break the armor depending on the knockdown advantage
The only real exception to this rule is imo Shao. He gets 50-60% off of literally any touch, it's easy to do, AND on top of that he does benefit from base Goro by checking zoners and making certain mix ups safe. Overall insane.
The new Sektor stuff is fun, but wow, he's definitely of more moderate use with some characters. I think Goro's 1 kameo 1 bar uses are where a lot of the flexibility comes in. It's obviously fun messing around and finding stupid damage, but he's ALMOST got the flexibility of Mavado now thanks to summon punch walk improvements, depending on the character, but that stuff is regularly in the 40% vein and that's pretty cool. But yes, there are indeed some Ferra nerfs on the horizon. I wouldn't mind more self-damage from Pain and Gain, which would be cool for the "high risk high reward" factor, but making SOMETHING fully neutral on block would not be a surprise. Possibly slight damage scaling increased on those launchers. But it may turn out that she's got some easy counterplay that hasn't been figured out yet. She definitely came out seeming very strong and has a lot of fun options regardless.
Hey diff love your videos as always man , I don't know if you heard but mk onslaught got cancelled and removed from play store it was the only way to get sub zero announcer voice i want it so bad , I was hoping some big mk yters could get this to the attention of the devs so we can maybe see about getting it added to store even ! Starting to see more and more Players hitting these big combos online and stealing matches. I just can’t justify it not being busted. Cooldown isn’t a problem for many characters who strive without a kameo. Liu, Mileena, Li Mei, etc…
I hear your points with the cooldown, but these big combos are consistent and practical which is the main takeaway. If you have 1 bar and get opened up, you are now holding 60%+ if not 70%+ with Fatal Blow. Many characters get big damage without a kameo so it’s not a deal breaker for many characters not having a kameo after hitting for 60% lol. You can’t base the judgement off the Competitive scene stats, because that doesn’t take away the fact it’s Game Breaking. When NRS decides to scale the damage down will we all then agree then that it might have been broken to begin with? Competitive scene doesn’t defy the games principles.
Considering the damage u get on hit n setups u can do it with it trust that recharge time ain’t as big of a problem as u would think I’ve already seen a lot but f wild stuff with that move goro has slone
Sadly ferra and have havik have almost no synergy, your can do his twisted torso but besides that your getting 30 percent most of the time and if you do manage to get a pain and gain off most players aren’t dumb enough to just armor or attack straight away.
The thing about ferra' 50/50 is they are kind of slow and react able compared to other cameos, it's just that she is new, though still being plus even if blocked makes her right best top tier cameos, goronin the other hand as you said just made characters like tanya feel oppressive, tanya already was annoying with goro but now even more so with throw cancels and the regular ambush, and as i tried to use that goro move that takes 40s to recharge i came to conclusion it's not really worth going for unless you are on final round and opponent has no break available and just spend everything to guarantee the round.
From a reiko main Reiko and goro are valid . yes u have kameos less but u have more breaker , cause with tremor u need to use bar for every combo . goro gives u meterless damage higher then reikos metered damage combos with tremor . Plus his fb combos have ridiculous damage
I can’t believe more people aren’t saying this. His cooldown is insanely long, but I think that’s okay. A kameo having a one use super move that gives you the opportunity to dish out absurd damage is kinda interesting.

At this point, I think NRS makes new kameos broken so people buy them and can use them for a while and eventually balance them cause I refuse to believe that an entire development team didn't realize how op this kameo is 😳
Goro is incredibly strong. No doubt, however, his recharge rate is so slow. It's like a 1 round kameo at times. I reckon khameleon will still be used by Pros or darius. Mix ups are massive in fighting games. Sub gets 50 percent with darius to. Gonna see more sub zero get that Movie skin on people. It's beautiful.
I honestly cannot pair general shao with ferra. Her openers are good, sure, but they just do not optimize good for damage. Mavado allows me for more options in terms of damage
So many votes of takeda saving the game, all the “my boy is back takeda” “my new main” I have yet to play a single one lmao, like I said, they all stuck to Sindel, ash, Johnny. Hell haven’t even played a homelander since his bug was fixed, and I’m champion in ranked.
Idk if anyone else did it yet but one game i called in goro while i was in the air and he punch walked sub zero and i also hit sub zero for 450 damage i still dont know how i did that
I think it’s a great opinion if you think Goro is strong, but out of the top 100 Kombat league players right now (You can go to the leaderboards and look) There is 4 Goro player’s and it’s 2 Tanya’s, a Kung Lao, and a Takeda Goro was already good with Tanya and Kung Lao There are at least 50 Ferra’s So he’s really not changing the game at all high level, like all these combo videos on social media would have you believe (:
@@Diff keep in mind though, ferra is the new kameo so of course shes going to get high play, also I'm not saying ferra isn't strong, she is, but there is fair counterplay, there is a complete gap in the low, mid, and overhead, the jumping overhead can be upblocked for a full combo, and the grab is duckable, nothing about her keeps you safe or plus if the opponent knows how to face her. I just think people haven't labbed her yet, and I think the devs knew she isn't as strong as people think because they gave her high health gain and low scaling. People just need to lab her honestly. You can stand 1 any of her moves except the grab on block and it will connect
People see a combo doing over 500 and people thing it's broken, but they forget that you have to land the hit first, and kameos can help you, but you would have to wait for the bar to fill again. More then 3 bar and full kameo bar just to get over 500, is a lose, lose bc you can get hit with some 💩 after that 500+ combo and lose the game.
He is not op i Hope He stays like that he is so good that He gets used more often but Not so good that he is a Tournament must use even tho its too early to know if some crazy tech is found
They should not touch Goro damage it is actually balanced if u think about it cause you spend all your resources and you have to wait for a long time fighting without a kameo so your literally leaving your self vulnerable in a gave where kameo are a big deal
What you don't realize is that several characters are capable of quite practical 700+midscreen combos. You think people are stupid, but in reality, you are the biggest one.
