The full Interview Clip on CBC's As It Happens, Go Support Christopher's Social Medias!!!! christopher... / christophersaintbooth #ekt #everyoneknowsthat #80s #interview
what an absolute legend, the man is gonna release the song but if he dont find the recording he's gonna RERECORD IT. most song writers probably wouldn't do such a thing.
@@rooksmuck I have little doubt that the amount of people involved in this AND the fact that this artist is being cooperative might very well lead to a documentary. If Winnebago Man can get a documentary, so can Chris Booth. Lol
I'm glad that's the case. there's a lot of musicians that make neutral sorta music that companies can buy and use in whatever they want so who knows this song might have actually been in some other media that hasn't been found yet
I dont usually make these sorts of replies however i just liked it bringing it to 500 likes....and almost immidiately it went back to 499 Which one of you's did it? stick em up
*You know,* we got the perfect ending. We found out in such a funny way, Everyone Knows That Carl is a gooner and the author of the song is an amazing person.
So they are gonna release the master for free and if they can't find it, they'll RE-RECORD the song to release! This is what it's all about. Giving the original artists the credit they deserve. He sounds like a great guy
@@radanju3 They found the original lyrics they wrote down so I doubt it was tossed but it's possible the track was given to the movie studio for the movie and THEY tossed it.
It’s insane to me how people were so quick to judge, make memes of, and discredit the song just because it was featured on an adult film while completely disregarding anything else about it.
When I first heard that it was from an adult film, I was amused for a brief second, but was still really excited we had *finally* found the song. It doesn’t take anything away from it.
I thought that fact was amusing at first but yeah like the above reply said, was mostly just overjoyed to see it found. It makes me sad to see people like. Discredit it, like you said. Idk I think people get more antsy about adult entertainment than maybe they should sometimes bc they feel shameful about it when it's really not very unnatural or anything. Art is made from emotion and horniness is indeed an emotion lol
Such is the case for any song involved in adult entertainment. As if it were an easy joke to make, an "if you know you know ;P". Anything from Video Game Music to songs by Sandy Marton and Caro Emerald
“Ohhh, i remember, ulterior motives!” Thats so insane to hear i cant even comprehend it. Like part of me still doesnt believe that they really found it
I knowww it's amazing 🥹 I was afraid this song may have been lost forever or taken 10 years to find. It was kind of like Christmas when I first found out they finally found it!
They are pretty successful now because of the horror movies they work on which one in fact is coming out sometime this year. And they still work on music too.
@@miragebangbravern2024 If this random attention helps them sell their current work then that's even better! Especially considering they may release the old song for free. :)
@@miragebangbravern2024Well Christopher Saint Booth is absolutely incredibly talented in music, but every single one of their movies are terribly rated though 😭
Imagine if we get a documentary about the most 80s song lost to time and found in a porno. Then it ends with the process of them re-making the song. That would be absolute cinema!
Honestly if the brothers produce it too it could be seen as an opportunity to promote what they've been doing more recently. I can't imagine some kind of documentation by them not being made in the next 5 years, it's simply way too good of a deal to pass up.
I've been sollicited and made music for adult video games, it's not that uncommon when you need some quick cash, often it's already composed and the customer gets to pick
Christopher S. Booth be speakin Paul McCartney-talk If this song gets released on Spotify I'll just forget that it has been creeping me out for days, forget about the lostwave and embrace the banger that the song is.
"you're counting all the sheep in disguise" this part of the lyrics made me laugh because it's just two of our possible lyrics mixed into one, fucking ironic. im happy it got found cause it's such a nice song ahhaahaha
First Asif gets interviewed with "World Was So Easy," and now Christopher S. Booth for "Ulterior Motives?" CBC must be the place for found Lostwave artists to be interviewed.
That is actually legendary stuff. The guy finally gets the recognition he deserves with such a banging (no pun intended) song. And the dedication to even re-record it if he can't find the original track is really cool, not many would do that.
I can speak for everyone when I say thank gawdddd Christopher is alive and well, active on social media AND willing to release or even REMAKE ulterior motives!
Never thought it would be found. I can’t believe the very guy who wrote the song which everyone has been trying to find for years has gotten involved and is so eager about the whole situation and agreed to search for the original recording and re-recorded the song if he can’t find it. I love that. Listening to everyone who is a fan of the song. If feels so cool to be a part of this whole thing. Can’t believe a lost song from 40 years ago has brought so many people together.
I’m not a musician, so it fascinates me that songs someone recorded could be forgotten by the musician, seen as “another day in the office”, and a master recording could be lost like a “misplaced” folder. This is by no means an insult, as I’m not part of that world and never thought of it that way.
I don’t think it’s an insult! I think it’s perspective. When you’ve been in the production industry for so long, you end up creating all kinds of works and many are forgotten, especially in this case where they didn’t receive any acclaim for work. To them, this was a bygone era of trying to break into the industry at a young age when every aspiring musician has mixtapes coming out of their ears. I’m a creative and have both written short stories and done numerous drawing/art pieces (of which the latter successfully runs deep in my family) and I can barely recall three of my works out of dozens. Add that they were cranking out pop songs to try and get one to catch on - I can totally see it becoming monotonous even. Also for what it’s worth in this case, we’re talking physical media back then and I’m sure they’ve moved a bunch in the last 40 years. Old master tapes can add up pretty quickly and then when the digital recording age came, you’re suddenly stuck with boxes and boxes of archaic, comparatively low quality media that one would think doesn’t really matter anymore because it’s dated. That is probably the likely outcome with “Like The Wind”. I absolutely believe that the band got a radio station to play their tape, it went nowhere, they gave up, their master tapes and mixtapes were lost along the way, and life went on.
This happens with actors too. A fan can easily remember way more about some obscure movie than the actor who starred in it, since the latter regarded it as yet another opportunity to get work.
To think that the artist of Ulterior Motives was just one degree away on the Kevin Bacon meter from Bryan Adams and the fact he was in Sweeney Todd too. Certainly not the first time some of us have heard of that band.
Class act musician, and the reason why the search was so intense is that the song is a legitimate banger (couldn't resist). I'm looking forward to the clean version and hope their career gets a second thrust - now that this mystery has been laid to rest.
Amazing. Literally the best possible outcome. Not only was the song found - but the songwriter is still alive to talk about it, and may even have the original studio master! And if they don’t, they’ll re-record it! Every once in a while, the internet works miracles.
I didn’t even know about the search for this song UNTIL it was found. I was like “OH, what”s this?”. Unfortunately, I heard the NSFW version first and was like “😳…………”. Also, the fact that the song wasn’t made just for this SPECIFIC thing makes it even MORE baffling that it was lost all those years ago.
Wow, hopefully they can find the original recording and that they’re willing to completely remake it if they can’t find it is just beyond amazing. This search was absolutely worth it.
It still feels strange to think that the complete song and the original composer were found after 2 years of searching, many disappointments and some false hopes. And that the composer also agrees to try to find the original recording or re-record it. The perfect timeline!
I think a lot of people had thought this song was just about a toxic lover. Interesting to hear from Booth himself that it could be about anyone with ulterior motives, lover, friend, or family member. I've only seen one video with the other interruption, where it's sung by a girl who's suspicious of her own mother (shout out to PaperWizard)
he's working on redoing it!! hearing the bass beats and SEEING him make it on the keyboard, ugh. mister, i woke up every day and tried to fall back to sleep while your 20 second song played in my head. i spent a traumatic time tired, now i have what i wanted.
this is probably the best and most wholesome outcome of all possibilities we had. it was strange that out of all theories, that is the one that turned out to be true, but after all this is what media should be used for, a community to grow so big, that the songwriter actually found out and even said he feels honored and appreciated the whole audience. awesome guy, i'm so fascinated and so happy of this outcome.
I believe that Carl92 was just a troll. They picked the exact part of the song that did not contain any moans in it, made some silly backstory and then disappeared completely. Like a classic troll coming from the early 2000s. That's what they did back then, one post and people wasted months on something that could not be found or solved. But it is awesome how it all turned out in the end, giving the Booth brothers their five minutes of glory. Maybe even more.
what a cool story. makes me wonder how many lost songs' artists are still around and and just arent online enough to be aware of the searches for their music. i hope we find alicia's song next.
YES! YES! YES! So glad it's been found. I hope they release a whole album with songs from that time. I take it they have enough material for that. Next up: Like The Wind! ♥♥♥
i was in the car with my mom this morning and i wanted to see if she’s ever heard this song, so i played it on spotify and i didn’t know there would be moaning in it 💀
Dude lowkey I think kinda what makes it so good of a song for me is the low quality, old sound of it, just a full length version of it that still sounds like an old lost media song would do it for me
I’ve said it before on Reddit and I’ll say it again here that thank you at the end is so heartfelt and touching it’s not only towards them but to all of us ❤the man the myth the legend
@@halva_dosh From what I gathered (might be biased tho), Hervé Roy tried to sue the folks behind 2 Girls 1 Cup for using his music in something this vile, but sadly passed away in 2009 before he could go through with it.
I am so happy this song has been found and this guy is still alive and well to be interviewed! It's so cool to get closure for a beloved lost song that I quite frankly had no idea if it would ever be found. I knew it could either have been found the next day, or in 10 years. I'm so glad we didn't have to wait that long! 😊
Aww that makes me so happy to hear. All of these lost songs and searches really makes you think more and appreciate smaller artists to be honest. I think we often get kinda lost with what's popular
These guys are awesome!! You gotta love artists who love the work! I mean, he says it over and over again, but he really loves music! And you can tell cause they’re gonna find the original that’s FOURTY years old or RE-RECORD IT. Spectacular!!!
Can't believe my ears I'm hearing, I just hopefully he will upload his full song very soon, and wondering if they ( maybe ) might have more songs from the 80s as well, I'm so happy to they still around & hear their voices for the first time, Can't wait to hear it. Also, Lorie Salvatera was also interview on radio, from another old channel ( which there was no comments or more likes ( just 6? ) , but sad that no one ever knew her songs, including it was a forgotten and lost ) and it's also great to hear her voice on the interview too, but it's kind of little bit hard to understand, due to some staticing sound ( if anyone understand what she is saying, just in case, please leave a comment ). Also I never thought that there is a live show from 2019 that's called " Bring Back from the 90s " or is it "Back to the 90s", which is already passed, but that was when I never heard of her song in 2023, and I'm hoping to see her singing on live show as well, but who knows, bummer 😔 . Also hopefully you guys enjoyed this interview radio as well, ( just going to leave it there lol ) just in case. TYSM for uploading this amazing surprisingly interview of the mysterious EKT!! 💖💖👏👏👍👍🥳🥳 ⬇️⬇️⬇️ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EHZN8VK0bfE.htmlsi=kRNkb0SIEenRiKQb
