Once you go E bike you will never go back!!! My friend Xylena and I took out our e-bikes to some local trails out in Aliso, California. The minute I hop on my e bike I begin to question myself on what features or even trails I can ride. It's like the minute our bike has a motor our brains think we can't do certain things we would do on our regular bike. So today we put this to the test. I wanted to see If I was able to ride my e bike on trails I would normally ride on my regular bike. Some sections did have us nervous but together, Xylena and I conquered our fears. We were both very happy to learn that the E-bike can handle a lot more than we think.

I ride a Trek rail 9.8 very well built. The ebike help my 71yo legs. Putting the 50lbs on a lift not so much. Heather’s perspective is great considering the negativity surrounding ebikes.

71?! How freaking awesome!!! I sure wish there was not so much negativity around ebikes, but I think it will fade the more people ride them. If you want to ride often and as long as possible, ebike is the way.

You have so much fun and your videos are enjoyable. My E-Bike @ 56lbs feels extremally light because I ride gas dirt-bikes too (Yamaha). The E-Bike gives me the opportunity to get up longer steep trails far more times in a day to get in more downhill runs for more fun. That's what riding is all about, to have fun.

Yup. Before coming to Colorado I bought a TTR-125 big wheel and did the fat boy upgrades (I'm about 200lbs). It's a toy of a moto bike but it weighs 200lbs by itself too, throwing that around for a few months before hitting the trails on a Levo and there was just nothing to it. My heaviest bikes are my favorites, the E and my DH bike.

Exactly. it's all about getting out there as much as we can and having fun. Coming from a gas dirt bike to the e bikes must feel so good!!

Love your videos! You have to be the most authentically cheerful RU-vidr on the planet. I have both e- and regular bikes and they all get ridden equally. Horses for courses. And at 63, the e-bike is starting to be the horse for more and more courses lol. Saw you at Jackson Hole bike park this past summer (or was it last?). ugh, like I said...

My 51 lbs Emtb feels like a tank compared to my regular mtb. For my riding limitations the right tool for the job. Your laughter through the rock garden is epic. Another great video! Chevere!!

I enjoy my epic s-works evo over my turbo levo. I find having a lighter bike is more fun to throw out the back on the jumps and gives me more control on the technical hills. Ebikes have to come down in weight a lot more.

@@_Jake.From.Statefarm_ I've tried it, don't feel like the power gains make it any faster than my epic evo in comparison. Plus the added weight force me to over fill the suspension so it doesn't sag too much. I want a 28 pound ebike with Levo Pro torque.

@@arcadialive4265 Haha one day! Yeah, having the E-tuned fork and a slightly stiffer spring to compensate def helps. It def isn't faster up the climbs on the steeps but it is on more mellow fire road climbs but it def gives you some leg juice for a few more laps.

@@_Jake.From.Statefarm_ the funny thing is that I find the e-bike has the biggest gains out of the sharp corners, into the jumps on the downhills. Which also had to a fun factor for bigger air. My dad is a former motocross racer and I can pass him on the uphills on my non-e-bike but on the downhills he gains. No way a human can match that quick torque response out of a sharp turn. But steady climbs is where I pass him.

Love your video's and antics. Love to learn from you although I haven't made it to these type trails as of yet. I'm a physically disabled 52 year old still biking all over town and I have 3 bikes currently. My Specialized is my commuter and fast bike for light rides. I have 2 heavy carrying bikes for stuff we need. Now I use delivery service mostly though. Don't like the so called bus/van system here honestly. It's jarring and noisy and there have been accidents too. But love the camaraderie, and I needed the laughs being stuck inside during the winter is depressing. Main difference I find is in the little things. A bunny hop or lift can be a little more effort. Or doing a slower tech / chunky climb. If you aren't balanced right or not in the right gear / cadence, the motor can shoot you forward and off line, or even pop the front on a steeper bit. But given the difference is less than 20 pounds between a normal bike and I'm 250, most things feel and handle basically the same.

I have a turbo kenevo expert! 200mm up front and 187 in the rear. And ride everything from dh, xc, trail, freeride and parks! It can and does everything!

In Germany, 10 times more e-bikes are sold than normal bikes. I belong to this group of buyers. Why? I ride further and am just as exhausted as on a bike without assistance. The grin uphill and the full feeling on the trail are simply mega.

I ride a Santa Cruz Bullit and it eats up everything with eaze. My enduro bike was 37 lbs and the e-bike is 48 lbs. It takes more effort to bunny hop but the benefits far out weigh the weight difference. I can explore trails that are way out of what I could reach previously. I thought it was funny you guys were second guessing the rock after sending the doubles. Nice riding.

My heckler sl handles pretty similar to a regular bike. I don't really think about any differences in between the full, half, and regular bikes anymore with the exception that if I'm going over rocks or rollers into corners then the back wheel comes up a lot more the lighter they go. Something I just feel on the trail. The more you go, the more you know.

FYI, I believe ebikes are void of bottom brackets as the cranks attach to the motor. That said, you were correct to check the clearance as you don't want to slam your motor into solid rock. 🙂 Y'all are too funny!

Weird to me that this is still a widely held belief. I had multiple friends that thought they would curse me on the climb and leave me for dead on the downhill. Not how that works. These things are stable, capable, and overbuilt. If you've ever rode moto you would think that going from 30lbs to 50lbs is hilarious considering a dirt bike weighs 250lbs.

ebike can it almost anything..on technical trails and jumps u feel the weight..unless u have an sl version...but with normal ebike u feel the weight ...but anyway u drive 2x more trails in same time😁

Better to say - can a MOUNTAIN e bike do it all. The answers is yes . an e mtb can travel easily on any road surface from asphalt/cement to dirt , rocks , roots etc . a road or gravel bike cannot do kamakazi downhills with mega drops , jumps and aerial acrobatics . well , unless you have a death wish .
