Vesper Peak Garnets! I had the most amazing opportunity to hang out with the two miners who run the Vesper Peak Garnet Mine in Washington state while they clean up the garnets they mined last season. These are some of the most beautiful garnet specimens I have seen. These specimens will be sold by ‪@AvantMining‬ to mineral collectors for their crystal collections. Mike and Nolan are amazing, and I loved hanging out with the two of them during my trip to Arkansas.
If you would like one of these garnets contact Avant Mining on Facebook or Instagram.

Thanks Reg for dealing with all the Spam Bot replies today. Sone nefarious person was trying to scam people into giving up personal information by pretending to be me in the comments. I think Reg dealt with them all. Just a warning to everyone a lot of this type of thing has been happening all over RU-vid lately.

Hey Dan!! Beautiful gemstones. My mother's (RIP) birthstone was garnet and until several years ago, I only knew of the red/wine colored garnet. Then I came across JTV and found out garnets came in an array of beautiful colors. I love Spessertite, the orangey brown garnet, the raspberry pinkish Rhodolitie garnet, the brownish red Almondine garnet and the beautiful green colors of Tsavorite and Demantoid garnets. These look so much like Imperial Topaz at first glace because of the color. Just beautiful specimens. Thanks Mike and Nolan for sharing your beauties with Dan and the rest of us.

Hi Dan, Nice video about specimen cleaning you show here. What you got wrong though was the name of the host mineral which is Hedenbergite (not Hindenburgite - the latter doesn‘t exist). In recent years you could purchase nice Hedenbergite lapidary on mineral fairs like the Saint Marie show in the Alsace, France…

Well, I think I know where my dad got his garnet from. He was up in Stehekin in the late 60s to early 70s. I have a HALF of a garnet thats about and 1-1/2 long and 1 inch wide, deep deep red color though. Not orange. But, who knows. It would make a heck of a lot of sense if he was in the area at some point and got/found one.
