@@FallenOne669I think he did it on purpose, not only to send Heimdall to collect the object that captured the moon of Vanaheim, Odin is almost unaffected by Garm being loose, he took care of that by making Asgard a safe place for him. I think he sent him there on purpose so that when Atreus returned home everyone (including Odin disguised as Tyr) would belittle and insult him for that mistake, but Odin proves to be kinder in that sense, only so that Atreus would be tempted to return to Asgard because Odin was more understanding of him.

Kratos is many things but a hypocrite is not one of them. He may be cagey about his past, and insist others be better, but he does not pretend that he's a saint, nor does he give people grief over mistakes he himself made once upon a time. Atreus fucked up, he wasnt pretending he didnt, so kratos was fully supportive. Yelling at an already guilty atreus would accomplish nothing.

Kratos was the only one wise enough to acknowledge that Atreus had made a mistake; and that Atreus was fully aware that he had. Him supporting Atreus and offering to help him fix it was what Atreus needed at that time instead of judgement. But Kratos also realized that he made a mistake in how he was parenting Atreus, which lead to him being driven away. I love the relationship between these two; and I would never think that I would be looking to Kratos for parenting advice.

Yeah, the 9 realms were in jeopardy with Garm being released, Atreus made a serious mistake. But: - Neither Mimir, Freya or Tyr mentioned Gram _at all,_ prior to this. (Mimir had _plenty_ of time beforehand to at least mention him to Atreus) - Odin could've at least _informed_ him of Garm before sending him to Helheim - Everyone was quick to judge but were as slow as snails to offering help for Atreus (except for Odin and Kratos, Odin let him do what he had to do and Kratos actually went to fix his mistake as father and son). _Everyone_ was at fault here for their own reasons, not just Atreus.

@@itsharibonph I still believe that Tyr, Mimir and Freya could've directed their words to him better (I know reality-wise, it's just their Scripts doing the work that could've been done better). It was fortunate Kratos was there to shut them up because _none_ of them were helping with the situation. You should only be pissed at something or someone for so long before thinking of ways to remedy, if not eliminate the issue at hand. Especially when it's this big of one. (Even Ratatoskr tells the Duo to hurry up back to Hel to undo what they've done instead of pinning them there for longer with a verbal tirade [you can speak to him after closing the hel-gates at sindris house]) Atreus came back seeking help _first_ before getting reprimanded, because there wasn't enough time for him to sit there and be yelled at. (Kratos knew this. He was _better_ than that) When someone admits to making a mistake, big or small, fix it first. Speak to them afterward. They've punished themselves in their mind for it already. (Any person who owns up to their mistakes will always be ready to take responsibility of their consequences once the immediate issue is resolved)

The sequence with Garm is what proved to me that Odin is not the 'kind old man' he pretends to be and that he and Atreus seek knowledge for entirely different reasons. He never tells Atreus or Thrud about Garm despite knowingly sending them near him when all he needed to say was, "Hey, there's a giant wolf in the area; call Hugin if you see him." The only reason I think that he wouldn't is that he didn't consider the possibility that Atreus, a kind young man who could communicate with animals, would want to free a creature he knew was hurting. And, after Garm is freed, Odin never offers any solution to the problem. All he does is chastise Atreus and say Asgard is the only Realm safe from the effects of the Tears. The fact that Kratos is the first one to try and fix the problem speaks volumes about how much of a better person he is than Odin.
