I wish the US had Park Runs within driving distance-it’s not particularly widespread here yet. They always look like such a wonderful way to bring the community together.
I had the BEST time, despite the key! It was beautiful and everyone was so friendly and welcoming and helpful. You've got an amazing thing going there! 🥰
Tia is so well trained, high five to you guys! What a stressful end to a fun day! There's only 1 park run within 100s of miles of me, and it's an hour away. I'm going to try it one day, to support and hopefully help grow it here in America. It's such a brilliant idea, and I love the idea of park run tourism... you can do one and get on with your Vaca, unlike longer races where you have to worry about taper/ recovery. And you are SO CLOSE to 50k!!
So nice to see you at Chippenham parkrun Flora. I was part of the volunteer team that day. Lovely video - it was a beautiful day for it 🥰 So sorry the key didn’t materialise after all your efforts 😞 I hope it hasn’t put you off joining us again - personally I blame the grim reaper 😉😆
Ahhh thank you if you were one of the amazing people who helped us search! We all kept saying afterwards how friendly everyone was - it made all the difference to our mood. Really enjoyed the run, thank you for volunteering!
As an RD at Stevenage parkrun love watching videos that feature parkruns especially ones I never have run at. Re: wedding, I did Beachy Head marathon in 2019, since done it 3 more times including this year which was pretty intense weather wise, and a couple ran the first 10 miles or so to Aylesford, met their friends in a pub, got married and carried on to finish the race where they gave out heart shaped cake to all in the canteen where we having our post-run meal. Pretty memorable way to do it I think. Aren't parkruns perfect for returning from injury etc?
What about people like me who love late Friday nights and can't get out of bed on Saturday mornings? I've been wanting to do a parkrun for years... Parkruns should be more inclusive for non-morning people 😂 Maybe a 1pm option!! But lovely running Flora, great to see you back at it
My apbt Ceasar and I used to do our local park run every single Saturday... Until someone complained about ceasar we stopped going to avoid any further "pitbull" misunderstandings... Really a nice community run great vibe lots of different types of runners and walker
I also 'lost' my car key in Monkton Park when Chippenham's Longest Day 10k started and finished there in 2021 because Covid was still preventing the event from using the High Street. I've never dropped my key at any other race or parkrun. Can't just be coincidence...
No waaaayyyy that's so weird! But the car wasn't stolen, and I was literally in the middle of hundreds of people for the whole time - I can't imagine someone could easily have pickpocketed without someone noticing! Spooky though 😱
@@FloraBeverley Same here! Maybe there's good money to be made in just stealing the keys and reprogramming them for another car as even keys are so pricey these days... then again, maybe I'm just too suspicious 🤔
@coops111s that's on the owner to sort the dog! That's why I've been so fastidious training Tia and as you can see, the only time she was in front of me was in order to get out of the way of anyone overtaking. Otherwise she trots nicely by my side! Parkrun should be open to everyone, so long as they're well behaved (and their dogs!)
Sadly I haven't done one since the ban, and before that the negative comments from people who think it is a race were a pain. We go CaniX at 0800 instead and do 6+ miles. A pity.
