Meet Lakeland Terrier Bertie - he’s a sweetheart who loves a good cuddle on the sofa. Treats are his favourite thing, next to getting attention from his owners Becca and Matt. Bertie’s a refined character and not a fan of getting muddy - which means getting him into a proper dog exercise program is tricky!
Matt and Becca entered Bertie into the Everypaw dog fitness challenge competition to help him lose a few pounds and get in the best shape possible.
He was a little on the chubby side, and was getting too much food. With some details about his diet, weight and current fitness plan, our vets can up with a programme to help Bertie get more exercise, but less treats!
Our vets suggested a change of diet - and slightly less food. He also has allergies and needs hypoallergenic food, which our vets kept in mind when coming up with his diet plan. They ensured he got special food to ensure it could meet his dietary requirements - without getting an upset tummy.
Over six weeks, Bertie’s owners kept up with the Everypaw pet fitness plan, with the aim of shedding a few pounds and getting him in the best shape of his life.
