#FreddieMercury #Queen #BohemianRhapsody
The Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody now rules the roost as the top movie in America, as every true Queen fan could have told you it would.
It is wonderful for the legendary band's legacy - proving to everyone that their music is famous all over the world - however, this also means that so many untruths are now enshrined as the biography best known to the moviegoing public. Yes, many things you saw in the movie were tweaked for the audience.
Now when you dig into Queen's actual history, the true version of their tale is, in almost every instance, far far more interesting. Freddie Mercury led band Queen, was larger than life and certainly larger than the standard-issue music biopic cliches that populate Bohemian Rhapsody.
Here, we talk about tales of music that your school classes probably never covered. In here, you will find discussions about some of the worlds greatest artists, stories about their personal life and the untold weird parts of their history!

The worst thing is they never broke up. The works tour 2nd leg ended in may 85. Live aid was 2 months later, not 2 years. Yes, they were tired and jaded, after tour but Freddie was never out and had to ask to be let back in band. The music is what made the film. Don't know why they changed so much, when their real story is so fantastic. I was very disappointed and wondered why Brian and Roger went along with so many things being untrue. The band was the best ever songwriting, arranging , performing and very hard workers. For 10 years they produced albums and toured til they finally took a break in 83. 👑 Queen best band ever!!!

here are some things that i found: 1. they didn’t sell rogers van to make an album, they were allowed to do demos in the recording studio allowing then to make their first album. 2. freddie didn’t know he had aids before the live aid concert. 3. he never told his queen mates that he had aids until days before his death. 4. he never disregarded mary. 5. roger was the first to do a solo album, they never ‘broke up’. annoying how roger and brian depicted freddie to be that bad guy. 6. freddie didn’t live in his parents house during the 1970 period. he lived in a flat with the band he was in before queen. 7. he was good friends with roger before they became a band. they owned a clothing store too. 8. mary didn’t just magically meet freddie after the smile concert. they were introduced together by brian, who had been dating her for not long.

The main storyline was wrong, Freddie was the 3rd member to make a solo album and Queen didn't break up before Live Aid, they finished the a tour in May of 85 and Live Aid was July 85, so having Freddie asking to come back to the band was not only completely wrong but incredibly insulting. Brian himself said in some interviews that Freddie was not the diva people might expect but usually the peacemaker. Also British people don't say "counter clockwise" they say "anticlockwise" 🙂

In terms of historical accuracy it's almost completely ficticious, however what bugs me the most is Malek's performance as Freddie. In some scenes he is very good (like keep yourself alive song), but overall he misses the point. Freddy Mercury in private life and Freddy Mercury on stage were completely different people. In Malek's performance they are one and the same. And add to that that Mercury was a masculine guy. Malek makes him a stereotypical, sometimes to dangerously close to parody, effeminate homosexual.

Long time I hadn't listened to Queen and each new song I was like "ah yeah that's true, they also came up with that one". And it was absolutely ridiculous to "fudge" so many facts and events in Freddie's life then have Malek recreate every tiny move Freddie made on stage during live aid. Screenplays adhere to a fairly strict three-act format with events that generally happen at a certain number of minutes into the movie. The biggest problem with trying to make a movie based on a real band or person is that real life NEVER plays out exactly like a screenplay demands it to. That is why stretching the truth for drama's sake happens in virtually every movie based on real people and events, and why documentaries are the only type of film to watch if you want accuracy. That said, as a Queen fan and someone who is generally forgiving about the inaccuracy of biopics, I was pretty disgusted by how far off so many things were in this movie. It was hard to watch.

This video made no sense like the point of the movie wasn’t to make a documentary it was to have some fun make drama and just make Freddie happy. U can say all u want about oh Freddie would be so disappointed but no he wouldn’t he would love it even if the dates of the music were wrong. He did say I don’t care what u do with my music just don’t make it boring. And fun that movie was I old people just need to relax learn to enjoy some music. Don’t like it watch a documentary about queen

Brian said they wanted also to make a movie not a biography so some things were changed.

Let Freddie Mercury's Spirit Rest In Peace!! All This Turmoil Now, 31 Years After He Passed Away, Is Wrong. If There Were Any Controversies, They Should Have Been Addressed, While Freddie Was Still Alive!! This Is Very Wrong, To Smear Freddie's Name, And Queen's Too. And To Degrade Freddie's Character, And His Personal Life!! If He Had Been Anyone Else, All This Rubbish Would Not Be Spread All Over RU-vid. And Why Are So Many People Dissecting And Degrading Bohemian Rhapsody For Anyway?? All The People Who Did This, Are You Perfect?? Freddie Mercury, Was A Human Being, Like All Of Us Are. And We All Have Sinned, And We Do Everyday!! God Says, Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged. God Also Tells Us, Take The Plank Out Of Your Own Eye, Before You Remove The Splinter Out Of Your Brother's Eye. Not a Queen fan but I believe it is important not to rewrite history. A similar thing has happened with Pistol, the series about the Sex Pistols. Looks like lots of liberties have been taken with this Queen biopic. I thought Mr. May was an executive producer, so it's a bit baffling. My bro' is the Queen fan and I'll ask him what he thinks when he sees it.

Freddie was mega awesome, but they should have got one of our Bollywood actors to play him. We have some great actors who would have been perfect.. Rami was good, but a Bollywood actor could have brought real magic to the film. That's what Bollywood actors do.

I did love the film, but feel like Freddie was played as a lot more flamboyant and diva-like than he really was. I obviously never knew Freddie but in all his interviews he seems extremely humble and just nice. Im not sure he was played quite as he should have been, but i think this was down to the writing more than the actor. It is quite shocking though how many things the film got wrong, considering Brian May was executive producer and him and Roger were jnvolved in the film!! I just dont get it!!

While you're on about correct information, who told you English people don't say 'Beverage' or 'Period', I'm English and I've always used those words. You talked about the headphones of the sound engineer but what about the bigger issue that Jim Beach didn't change the settings on the desk!. It's a film and lots of things are wrong, real fans know the truth and the rest probably don't care.

Watching the movie now and watching old interviews with Brian May and Roger Taylor and finding inaccuracies in the movie. If I saw this video first, I would have skipped the movie. It goes down from 5 stars to 2 stars for being factually inaccurate.
