As a student pilot at AOA, I can say instructors and DPE want student pilots to use e6b, plotter, vfr sectional chart, and chart supplement for their cross-country flight and during oral exam. Old school, no foreflight or Garmin pilot, no electronic.
It's good to learn both ways. Managing computer systems is an important part of being a modern airline pilot, but it's always good to have the base of knowledge you build with the paper charts and E6B. For my PPL exam, I showed my DPE a paper flight plan, but I didn't have to calculate it in front of him or anything like that. For my IR exam, I just showed my DPE my flight plan in ForeFlight, explained to him my thought process behind whether to attempt the flight or not, and that was good enough.
Hey Garrett, I have a request. Could you possibly make a video regarding the best and useful degree or skill for a pilot to hold? for example if a pilot were to not be able to fly anymore due to unseen circumstances (such as failing medical, what degree would be best to get a decent job they can fall back on? I am currently considering between mechanical engineering and accounting and computer science. A video like that will be very helpful for hopeful pilots. Thanks!
100% iPad Pro 11”. Not the biggest iPad Pro if you want a do it all iPad for professional pilot, typing emails, creating study notes, consuming aviation study materials. The mini screen is a bit small for serious iPad usage. Mini is great for casual usage and GA flying.
Hello Garrett! What you do is great and very helpful. This week I've had to fly a lot and thanks to you I'm not afraid to do it anymore. Best wishes. Peace ✌️
Hello Garrett , I am from Viet Nam , someone pretended to be you to make friends with me , since then I have found out and known you , I reported him . I have watched all your videos on RU-vid. You are so talented and I admire you. Wish you have more flights, more videos and always successful in your life . Wish you good health . Stay with you and support you! Have a good day, Garrett! Big fan of VietNam
Got a maroon TUMI laptop bag in Singapore. Expensive but quality wise yes, highly recommended. You can have it personalized by putting your name on a leather bagtag that goes with it. They do the job. It has been 5 years now and it still look good.
I love your videos because your amazing way of conveying is very inspiring to the viewers and I love the creative way in designing all your brand products, very smart and convenient for the users. Wishing you peace, good health and a speedy recovery from your little finger injury so that you won't be hindered in your work. mThank you "beautiful assistant Bella" who is always behind the scenes cheering for you every time a youtube video is released😂 Wish you both always have a good time. I will forever enjoy watching videos of your channels and posts on social networks.♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
What’s up Garrett. I like the in ear aspect of the pro flight series 2’s they look super comfortable but I’m concerned they will let in too much noise during flight training in the Piper Archers. Do you recommend going with the A20’s for the time being? Thanks
G Man - AirClips RU-vid channel has fantastic actual cockpit heavy jet procedures approaches and landings . No body on that channel is taking off their shirt , doing lat pull downs or hawking flyte gear out of their garage or dad hanger
Hey Garrett great video I know I am year late to comment to answer your questions it depends on the Flight schools and DPE preferences of use Electronic E6B or a Manual E6B
Hey Garrett , i was wondering if you could do a video in what apps would help to study and that are free for use thanks it would help out , also if you could list what kind of case u use for it
Hey garrett , first of all what u do is amazing so good luck man , but i think it gets sick sometimes coz ppl are using your pics and stuff trying to scam people .. i've seen few fake profiles before on Instagram but yesterday i bumped into a huge one on Facebook .. now let me explain , that guy is doing it perfectly i don't know how but it's working on people and i think he's even taking advantage of them collecting donations for some weird ass association or something .. i couldn't track more coz he blocked me but it's sick and this is exactly why i hate using social media or let's say i became afraid of using social media coz i don't want anyone to use my stuff to scam or catfish .. have a wonderful day
@@ramzi_8000 I understand all the excuses, trust me. Ask yourself, what are you willing to trade to get what you want? Is it that important to you? Go read up on or listen to Napoleon Hill. Perhaps that might help you.
