Jonathan has said Blast Doors is their hardest song for him to do live, due to the extreme changes in vocal dynamics and long sections without breathing. For that reason (he said) they tend to put it at or near the start of the set, while his voice still has the resources to manage it. He does look like his head's going to explode during it, here.
makes a lot of sense/ I learned how to sing the song and its really fun but holy shit is it hard to sing. If I have already been singing a lot that day theres no way Im pulling it off.
They sound like they’re all doing their own thing the lead singer looks like a one republic reject who can’t sing....it’s basically jazz meets one republic and you can’t dance to jazz... simon cowell would have a field day with these guys!
Almost impossible to reproduce the sound of the album (Get to heaven) but they give it a bloody good shot. I'm 60 and I have listened to the album 300 times.true story.
the mix of stellar musicianship and awkwardness here is perfect. all the yells, grunts and the way Jeremy moves while playing the synth, I love all of it so much
I think Fever Dream is fine, and could definitely be better, but GtH is just so, so good that it was always gonna be hard to follow up. My point being: no need to hop off the train yet!
A Fever Dream totally topped Get to Heaven. Night of the Long Knives, Run the Numbers, Put Me Together are some of the best songs they've ever written for sure
This is absolutely mind-blowing live both vocals and back up vocals on point! The fact that only 80K people have seen this is criminal, what an amazing band everything everything are!
I was lucky enough to see them at a street festival in Chicago last year and I was blown away by how amazing Jon's vocals were live and how few people were there!
@@georgetexstel5837 Hi I'm litteraly 2 years late ! But yeah I've attended one of their shows in Paris. Maybe they do have a lot of fans in England but here not so much. I think they deserve more!
My favorite part of this set is the fact that they're all wearing the same cute space jacket. There was a conversation wherein they all had to CHOOSE a cute space jacket.
I love Jon's reaction to that funny little whistling sound at the beginning of Distant Past. I've always wondered what that was, looks like he doesn't know either.
That rendition of distant past, is absolutely mint! The second pre-chorus vocal, sounded even more fun filled than normal. And the taps... taps are always peng. Shitting myself in anticipation for what they bring to the floating table of the future!
Wow, typically I find it hard to listen to these guys live, which is always upsetting because I adore their studio work, but this, this is really well performed.
Pretty cool how Jeremy (on bass) switches straight from a pick to fingerstyle for the chorus of Blast Doors. You see it clearly at 1:12. I watched this live when it went out, but only just noticed lol
This is the best live performance I've seen from ee, by far. What I love in particular is how assured and confident Jon seems. The whole band doesn't put a foot wrong. I can't wait for the time they're able to tour again
I don’t know who organised and/or set up this gig but what a brilliant job you have done. Blast Doors was absolute knock out. Incredible audio quality too. Thank you!
I don't understand how this band is not the queen or u2 or whatever super massive rock band of our current generation. Though is not my cup of tea, they are simply genius.
Man, these guy are incredibly talented. Been listening to their music since 2014-2015, I think. Absolutely love it. And now I see how awesome their live performances too, great stuff!
get to heaven will always be my fave album of ALL time. I saw these guys when I was one of four in the crowd and have compared any good music to them since, amazing.
You've prob heard them bc they're more well known than EE but please check out TV on the Radio if you haven't yet. I hear a lot of similarities between the two bands. Check out the album Return to Cookie Mountain. Fucking masterpiece.
Everything everything are in my opinion the best band ever. They inspired me to play music. Their music is right up my street! Indie, Alternative amazing!
Every time I come back to this video I'm puzzled at how it hasn't reached a million views yet. It's an incredibly recorded, incredible performance by an incredible set of musicians.
Hey Low Four, your GoGo Penguin set is absolutely killer. Could you please get them back on for their new album? We all could really use some high quality live tunes from A Humdrum Star
