Nothing changed, it's still the best way to level up until you reach rebirth 5+, after getting rebirth 5+ then the fastest way to level up is just doing the highest level quest you can

I already had 51 pumpkin souls and was assuming that they are for the scythe but then I actually got my first soul drop and had to double check which one is needed for the scythe turns out my luck was so damn amazing it ended up hurting me because I already have the spirit and need the scythe rather than resources for a couple dozen more spirits

The Meteor Event that spawns, when a meteor is crashing down at the church you can accept the nun's quest and destroy the meteor to complete it

Just going through the quests as fast as possible, go to the next quest area as soon as you get the level to go there :)

you can try to buy it for the seller npc located in the city next to Cell. Other than that there is a low chance to get it as a drop from defeating a summoned/spawned boss
