Thanks for being a voice of reason. I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to investing. But what I do know is that right now all of the stocks out there are available to pick up for a lower price than normal. That's a good thing. All that money that you already invested will change. It goes up and down. And if you weren't going to take it out this year, then what does it matter? It's not money in your bank account. It goes back to the basic investing principle: buy low and sell high. Things are low right now. So don't bother selling, only worry about buying, and in 1, 2, 5, or 10 years you'll thank yourself.

I personally love this market. I don't have access to a distributor but in this market with pokemon I can get case by case of new product for distributor level pricing if not less.

When I got back into buying Yu-Gi-Oh cards and a few other collectibles when the TCG boom happened in 2020 I luckily got in right before things really started to take off and prices went into the stratosphere. Last year around probably September october-ish I was telling all the people in the small community that I was in that there's going to be a small recession prices on all collectibles are going to dip a bit and I don't know if or how well it's going to recover. I said it was based on multiple things including nobody wanting to work / there being a labor shortage the housing market prices increasing day by day, the eventual war in eastern Europe, etc. I was telling people to hold off on buying because when it comes down to it the super huge mega collectors aren't really going to be affected because they have money invested in multiple things even outside of collectibles and even then they probably have money on top of that so they're fine but the middle to lower and collectors are going to start selling their stuff and they're going to start selling their stuff for lower and lower prices because at the end of the day it's either they sell their collectibles and get quick money out of it so that they don't go homeless or they go homeless. Or they lose their car, etc. I was laughed at. A few people semi agree with me but didn't think it was going to be nearly as bad as I thought. Well here we are. And while it's probably not going to hit 2008 levels it's still getting worse day by day. And NOW the crypto market (Bitcoin particularly cause that's really the only one that matters) took a nearly 40% dip in the last 3 months. NFTs are becoming worthless. It's all coming together and I'm sitting here waiting to throw my money at all these low priced collectables that people are going to get rid of so they can feed themselves and their potential families

Assets have a chance for a brief run soon. 2023 should bring a noteworthy drop in the usd, but if it doesn't then 2024 almost certainly will. Agree, different times are good times to buy certain assets/investments, but it is always good to diversify. Dollar-cost-averaging also helps lock in the 8-12% historical increase average with stocks, as almost everything will be on sale compared to 5 years from now, just like the 2008 crisis. Most things are down right now and more so with inflation as Rudy states. One area that isn't down right now is being a landlord. When the economy is down, people still need a place to live and are less likely to buy a home. Being in a city with lots of jobs, rent hasn't gone down in over 40 years. Even when interest went from 8% in the 70's to 18% in the early 80's, rents stayed flat or increased. Even during the dot com bubble burst and the 2008 financial crisis, rents went up. Supply and demand will still work... so unless we reduce the population... It is true that you lose some value from your static rental income when there is inflation, but your mortgage and most related taxes are also not as much. Plus, you also get 5-10% (or more) appreciation... this can be disrupted much more than rental income.

After the Fed announcement on raising rates, I put more money into my Roth IRA in Fidelity, knowing that the markets would probably drop and whatever moves the auto managed account would make would equate to buying the dip and hopefully turn out good long term. Yup. Up 17% last year, down about 12% so far this year lol.

I'd assume, a good portion of the card sales plummeting, are due to bigger distributors allowing streamers to biy whole sale, as well as certain channels purchasing absorbent amounts of product, creating false supply shortages, making millions and the dumping at ludicrous prices has something to do with it.

I'll talk about my stocks, I did very good fighting the losses. It's changes per day but it's near 0% loss since Thanksgiving when it all went down which is a big achievement if you ask me. I shorted oil allot and did a bunch of flipping and bought some good calls and puts. I'm still short on oil, but I also have long positions on oil & gas as a shorter term hedge. Times are terrible in the market even the best lose moneys right now.

No "buy when assets drop" this time.. this is getting scary. But 100% agree to just make no move at all atm.
