stefan didnt flip the switch, hes just putting on an act. you can tell by how emotional he got with elena on the phone, if he had turned it off he wouldnt have cared. damon just thinks he flipped it because he killed andy which is exactly what stefan wanted, he needed damon to think he was far gone. RIP andy
You’re definitely right. Stefan’s humanity is clearly still on because he also went to stop klaus from talking to damon. If he didn’t care, he would have let klaus kill or hurt damon.
stefan’s struggle is so overlooked. the ripper in him is the opposite of his real life wants. he’s basically got a split personality when he’s on the blood.
stefans struggle isn’t overlooked it’s literally one of his most talked about traits in the show 😭😭 & the ripper isn’t really the opposite of his real life wants it’s more like an uncontrollable side of something he does actually want but normally resist and restrains because he WANTS to be good despite everything
@@grlsluvlunaWhat's overlooked about it is how great of a writing it is. Because you usually see the blood thirsty 'vampires' or whatever are usually the villains of the story but in this case it's a compassionate person cursed with this fate and any help he needs is not exactly accessible and it's very annoying that some people in the fandom hate on Stefan and call him evil for the bad things he did when it was never what he wanted. I also think it's great that they show how his "signature move" started later on in the seasons. His reaction to the people he 'accidentally' kills, sums up his personality.
@@little7redify i love the show but the writing for stefan being a “compassionate person cursed with this fate” isn’t unique it’s a common trope for characters similar to him personality wise. & it’s arguable that most of the vampires were “compassionate people” before they were vampires. stefan isn’t exactly special in that regard. stefan having an extreme bloodlust to the point of being a ripper is the notable difference for his character. but a lot of vamps throughout this show WANT to be good despite the fact that they are a vampire but wanting to be “good” doesn’t necessarily make you good especially in the terms of vampires where some things are uncontrollable so of course things happen
One of my favourite Stefan and Elena scenes and favourite musical moment in the show. Stefan’s nod when she says “hold on to that” gets me every time 🥺
RIPPAH STEFAN!!! He is so scary but you can see he's really struggling. Paul Wesley honestly does such an amazing job at playing this side of the character. That ending scene with Stefan and Elena on the phone is one of my favourite scenes EVER and I became obsessed with that song (A Drop in the Ocean by Ron Pope). Poor Alaric as well 💔 And then we have horny Caroline & Tyler, his crazy mother, Jeremy seeing ghosts of girlfriends' past and Bonnie nowhere to be seen since she's not needed for some witch stuff 🤣
my stelena heart 💔 they really do love eachother. you can tell how much him being away effects elena and how much the necklace meant to her bc of stefan.
16:23 This is one of my favorite scenes in the entire show. The look of pain on Stefan’s face is heartbreaking. And the music just makes so much more painful. This scene is perfect. I have no notes. Paul Wesley’s acting is great. I’m a Delena girl but Stefan absolutely does not deserve that.
The music in the whole series is absolutely perfect, especially in the phone call to Elena, and most are artists that I would have never listened to before I started watching TVD. Now, I actually have an Apple Music playlist of TVD songs👍
I remember when you guys first started the show and said ‘we’ll review every finale to see if we want to continue the show.’ And I just laughed at my phone like ‘Right… If…😏’
When I first watched this I didn't like evil Stefan but now I prefer that to how he was in the first two seasons. He's more interesting and allowed Paul Wesley to show more range.
YES. i understand that stefan is supposed to have the "good boy" personality in comparison to damon. but seeing him as the ripper made his character so much more interesting. he was less uptight, more carefree, and was reckless at times. in fact, him as the ripper seemed to be the most human version of himself throughout the whole show. obviously, that doesn't justify the things he did. i feel like that's a huge reason as to why i'm not a stelena fan; stefan is a sweetheart but he doesn't just ... live life if you know what i mean. whereas damon is the complete opposite. he pushes & challenges her. love paul as an actor :) couldn't see anyone else playing his role
I love how shameless Damon could be when he walked out butt naked in front of Elena. It’s one of the things I love about him. you can also tell that when damon yelled at her, he clearly regretted it, but it was what Elena needs to hear in that moment. She was in denial that the victims were Stefan’s. They have grown so close during the summer and I can’t wait to see what happens in the future.
nothing better than to watch your brother get hugged and kissed in the bed by your girlfriend and while your suffering your bro is shamelessly naked and dancing with your girl. this show is cancer. elena and damon r the worst
Guys I just found this channel and binged 2 seasons of TVD reactions in two days and was actually having withdrawals so thank you for this! So refreshing seeing how invested you guys are into this 🥰🥰
One of my most rewatched episodes of TVD. I remember how the break between season 2 ending and season 3 premiering felt SO long and we would just watch the first two seasons on repeat and finally this episode was dropped and I watched it so many times that week until the second ep aired 😂 have been a huge fan from day one.
this is the moment where we see the tension that is growing between damon and elena. Especially, during the necklace scene with the way they looked at each other so intimately. They honestly looked like they were about to kiss. My delena heart was shook when this scene happened.
idk man damon was using andy over and over. he also killed stefan’s best friend of 100 years on his birthday. and elena’s brother right infront of her, i don’t think he has much room to be like “ STEFAN IS TOO FAR GONE “
Damon just think that because he has seen Stefan without his humanity and he knows how he acts when that happens and Stefan is putting on a act for him and fo Klaus, so they think he's gone. And *Spoiler alert*. Until this point he never really tried help Stefan to resisit his Ripper side, Lexi was the one who always did and he knows how difficult it is and how it takes years for him to be able to control himself again. At this point of the ahow Damon really think Stefan's control is gonne, at least for Elena's human life time
i mean damon does know his brother better than anyone & has seen stefan at his worst so if anyone has the “room” to say it then it would be him. if you’ve seen someone at their worst then you would be able to recognize the pattern & stefan is playing the role klaus wants him to play to purposely seem too far gone so if anything it makes sense for damon to say. we could list off every inconsiderate thing stefan has done even tho stefan always says damon is “selfish” which anyone who watched the same show knows is not even close to true
@@grlsluvluna It is true though. Damon may grow and change as the show goes on, but let’s not act like we haven’t seen Damon’s selfishness on multiple occasions during the show. Both of them have done some messed up stuff. We don’t need to pretend like either one of them has a leg to stand on, because they don’t.
@@sunlo2954 & besides all that it’s not about having a leg to stand on. My comment was about the person saying damon had no room to say it. & he did. they are brothers & if anyone would know when either of them were too far gone it would be each other. too far gone is a phrase & I think that’s being forgotten. he said stefan was too far gone in elenas life time because he truly believed it which was the literal point of the performance stefan is putting on
That necklace scene is important you will see why , that even where Stefan didn’t say anything is so sad everytime felt he was being held hostage and she let him know she here
stefan is the proof that if you chose to be a nice person, don't ever do anything bad in your life cause people will hate on you for that. but if you chose to be a bad person then it's okay, you'll be forgiven once you do anything minimally decent.
14:13 "Is that Batman?" The reason that this is so funny to me is because there's a Halloween costume company that uses Paul Wesley's (Stefan's) face without his permission and every time he tries to get them to stop, they just say that their model looks just like him.
SPOILERS Uh.. Remember. Stefan was ripping his way through the country as soon as they turned, and that was after he forced Damon to turn, after which Damon (angry at Stefan or not) had to deal with his Ripper brother for years until he knew he couldn't help his brother if he didn't want to change and had to leave. Then Stefan met Lexi who "helped" him. Then, in New Orleans, Damon wanted to be with his brother but Lexi stopped him so he selflessly let his brother keep his detox with Lexi. They met on and off in the decades after. Then a century after, Damon only started killing people when he had to leave someone whose name starts with an E in a dire situation about 50 years before the show started.. So no. Stefan wasn't especially "believing in him & hoping to change him" as much as you're saying.
Whatever the above comment says ^ i repeat. Also Damon's gf just died because of Stefan. He liked Andy despite everything. He's allowed to be distraught.
Its funny you said that scene with Andi was like a Scream scene because Kevin Williamson who made the 3rd scream movie was a showrunner for the first 3 seasons of TVD
he hasn't flipped the switch, i think he's just pretending When they flip the switch they feel NOTHING, they dont give a shit about anyone and anything...him crying on the phone with elena shows he still has some humanity.
I'm so excited for the reaction of this season, it's my favorite! My favorite scene from the whole show is coming and I can't for your reaction. ❤ Keep sharing with us. Love it! Xoxo from Brazil.
Finally, one of my favorite episodes with the Delena necklace scene, the Stelena phone call scene and Tyler and Caroline finally going to town with each other 😄 The only thing I hate about this episode is that everyone else is present for Elena's birthday except for Bonnie. They always find some lame excuse in the first seasons to keep her out of some important scenes until her magic powers are required. I like that she becomes more of a main character in later seasons.
I watched every season of 7th Heaven and didn't recognize him after several times watching TVD and had no idea it was him until I saw it in the comments on another reaction video 😅 Bro looks a lot different with facial hair 🤣 🤷
This is the season where things get very intersting. We get to see a whole new side to Damon and a whole new side to Stefan. I like to think of it as who they used to be before being a vampire. Stefan was more reckless and Damon was more careful. Poor Caroline. Mrs. lockwood is savage. and as for Niklaus, that man is just pure evil but yet still hilarious.😂😂
@@siaahale13 i wouldnt agree. Personally Damon was the good brother. When they were younger Damon used to confess to mistakes that Stefan did when their father wanted to punish them. Damon joined the army. He wanted to fight. He was a soldier. But Damon didn't see right and wrong when it came to love. When he loved someone nothing they did was ever wrong to him. He loved them like they are all that mattered. It's very evident from the way he loved Katherine and the way he loved Elena. So I don't think Damon liked the danger of it all, he just loves that deep. When he thought Katherine was dead, he wanted to die and not become a vampire. So it was never about the danger. It was always about HER.
@@dhairiyasundar1285 i said “if anything” so if it were either of them, damon would have to fit the category. i don’t think labels of them being good or bad are even relevant before becoming vampires. i referenced that he delved himself with vampires without even being compelled with katherine and that’s pretty reckless, especially when their family was against it and katherine wasn’t exactly a “good” vampire anyway. i would also add that it’s pretty normal for any older brother to “protect” their little brother from when they would get in trouble or any mistakes they made. stefans a kid. and, damon “wanting” to fight is pretty reckless if you ask me. not to mention he was fighting for the questionable side… now im not saying his personality was exactly like how he was as a human, i just think it obviously went further downhill when he was living as vampire for many years. he actually enjoys the predatory nature of a vampire and delves in it, and possibly suffers from identity issues. that may be his downfall.
I hope the actress that played Andi had another gig and that's why she was killed episode one. Rather than being offered to come back for season three but only one episode.
I love watching your reactions to TVD and I love all your videos, I recentely rewatched Teen Wolf and I would love to see your reaction to that, so if you take suggestions I think you would like it very much 😊. Can't wait to see more TVD reactions!!!
What I also enjoy about this show is that there is no set in stone good brother/bad brother dynamic. Stefan and Damon are both as capable of being good and being bad people when they kill innocent people. They are basically in the morally gray area and nothing is ever black or white in this show. Btw Stefan's humanity is still on, damon just think it's off.
there actually is a set in stone good brother/bad brother dynamic. it’s clear as day. i think people like you try to diminish this specific subject bc a lot of damon stans don’t want to accept damon being as bad as he is on his own (hence the other comment i replied to under this video), and try to drag stefan down to damons “morally wrong level” so it doesn’t seem as bad. damon has done of lot of bad things and he’s often presented as the bad boy who stirs the pot. whereas stefan, is the good one. even characters in the show have called it for what it was, specifically rose (others as well). vampires are capable of killing innocents, we know that. in fact, damon does it all the time. stefan does it once and it’s like, “look see! they’re both bad! stefan isnt as good as you think he is😆🫵”. …… yeah context is crucial and all of it seems to go out the window once stefan does smth out of character.
@@siaahale13I mean, he didn’t just do it once though? They mentioned he left a trail of bodies up and down the coast. And the reason they knew it was Stefan was because he has done this before.
@@evaboekhoorn8429 once was an exaggeration leading up to the ridiculous quote i stated. also being that this is kind of the first time we see stefan WILDLY off the rails in this ONE episode which is what i was also referring to. damon knew it was stefan bc he knows “ripper” stefan and his signature. don’t want to spoil anything but, there’s also a lot of be said about stefans ripper side and the moral line he walks on. stefan and damon are not the same at all in that department and that’s one of the differences between the two.
@@siaahale13 this is exactly my point. Most people are in denial that Stefan can be a bad person. Stefan has killed thousands of people and yet you still paint damon as the bad guy. They both have killed. They are both morally grey characters. They are both equally as bad as each other, so you just sound hypocritical.
@@siaahale13 that is where you’re wrong. There is no set in stone dynamic. The show is clearly telling you, they are both morally grey characters. Stefan has been killing innocent people and you let him off the hook. Damon has done just as many bad things. We still enjoy these characters, despite them killing people. Stop putting Stefan on a pedestal and accept they can be both good and bad. It’s never black and white.
Wait until Carol inevitably finds out her son is a werewolf. (Because we know that Tyler isn’t going to sniff [no werewolf pun intended] this shit out.) 💀🐺
