Same here! :) my son is about a year younger than Arrow. One step ahead, or actually for me a couple of steps ahead, but great to be able to be prepared for whatever next phase, milestone. Great content. Usefull tips and information. Following since I was pregnant.
Thank you this is perfect! We’re gonna start potty training in a couple months once my son turns 2 1/2 so this was good info! Please keep us updated on what worked what didn’t, etc :)
Thanks for the tips! We started potty training yesterday. So is Arrow potty trained now? Did you train for naps or do you put a pull up on for naps? I was about to put my daughter down for her nap without a diaper yesterday and my husband thought that was a terrible idea lol
What kind of training underwear for daytime/nighttime did you use? I’m collecting my supplies and would love recommendations! ♥️ This video is so helpful!
Hey Brittany!! I have always followed your videos and love all of your content! You are so raw and real. Idk if you will see this or respond but what do you recommend to put in the “clean up” basket? We have carpet in some areas of the house (all upstairs) and I’m trying to get some good products, we are preparing to start this week once I finalize my Amazon order.
Hack**** use a rubber ducky to display how to pee on the potty…. Simply fill it like it’s drinking, then squirt it into the potty high enough so the child can see the water enter the toilet.
So is arrow fully trained or are you still working on it? I just started potty training my 3 year old daughter. She still isn’t talking, so we are using a potty watch every 30 minutes.
Wow, that's intense, didn't think potty training was a science 🤣 you went in very prepared. I've potty trained my two kids slowly, with lets see what happens strategy 😀 worked well, 1st was diaper free before his 2nd birthday and 2nd was out of diapers month after her 2nd birthday. But getting it done in a few days seems great 😀
@@susantea777 I just started to talk about the potty, we put her dolls and stuffed animals on the potty and I tried to put her on the potty and if she didn't want to I didn't force her. It was like that for a few months. And one random day she said she doesn't need diapers anymore (she did ofc 😀). But it was a cue for me that she gets it and from there it took a few weeks and she was diaper free.
@@85Onne Thank you for the response! Gotta try that out hopefully it works :) she's been pretending feeding her little baby doll so I'll probably start by putting her doll on her potty too. Crossing my fingers! Thanks!
Hi Brittany, I really love all your videos, It helps me forget my problems sometimes..🥹 My sister has a little boy, he is 3 years old now so I learned a few little things. All the tips you gave us like when she is in the bath, you will be glad that you have a potty on hand. But the plastic bags I wouldn’t use because you can just throw it in the toilet unless she is sick ofcourse. Axel always likes it to flush afterwards. Anyways happy newyear and sorry for my spelling, I am from Belgium. Greetings from Julie and please keep doing your video’s 😊
What signs did Arrow show that she was ready? Our son is a couple months younger than her. He tells us when he has done wees or poos in his nappy but isn't interested in sitting on a toilet or potty! He's very strong willed and won't do anything he doesn't want to (like any toddler I guess) but he really is a creature of habit!
People put too much pressure on potty training. We’ve just been open and talking about using the toilet since my son was born. He sees us use it and likes to flush for us. Eventually heI’ll want to copy how we do it and we have everything we need for that time. But we’re not in a rush over here.
I taught my toddler the 3 day bottomless method too. But now the struggle is teaching to not to pee/poo once she has underwear. Because once she has something on she thinks is a diaper and its a whole set back. 😔😔😔 any mommas have some advice?
We used the trunks/boyleg style underwear that way they feel different on as they aren’t the same shape or cut as a nappy. This worked for us! Good luck!
My daughter is 18 months and is now aware that the toilet is something you “poo” on but she’s not really aware what “poo” is i believe. Last night she climbed on my closed toilet and said “i poo poo” and t grabbed the toilet paper and tried to wipe herself lol so She’s not ready to potty train but Im just watching videos to better prepare myself . Thank you for this! I just happened to see this video the next day after my daughter did this haha
There are a lot of different signs of readiness, the ones I noticed were long periods of time of being dry in a diaper (awake and during sleep), interest in the potty, fast at alerting me of a potty in the diaper, using words like pee or poo, and finally sitting on the potty itself!
I feel like Arow wasn't fully ready for potty training based on what you are saying and how you struggled. My daughter when I knew she was ready went diaper free in two days, with no accidents at all. What is missing in your video are the signs of readiness from a child. Parents shouldnt decide themselves when to potty train.
She showed lots of signs of readiness, yes that wasn't mentioned in this video as I assuming parents will look to this video when noticing the signs of readiness, and all children will learn at their own speed. Accidents for a few days is completely normal. I happy you had such a smooth experience!
Haha I had them watch the course I took, and we all agreed it would be very challenging to do this method alone with a dog in my apartment. We didn’t want my daughter walking my dog with me bottomless in the streets of LA. I think that was a selling point lol
I have a Qustion,i try now 1 Month gor Potty Training my 18 Months old,i feel like she isnt ready,is 18 months to early? I got the same toilett with the flush and all,she used it first 2 days well, but after she starts pee everywhere,i know when she needs and tell her the toilett is here but she not use it,even she knows! I tryed pantys,no diapers for a while and show her everytime and tell her too where the toilett is but nothing! 😒
Great video Brittany! Things I wish I knew before potty learning (also did the BLF method): in the first period after the three intense days it still felt like a challenge to go on an outing, especially a longer one & number 2 can be surprisingly scary on a potty…and that also remained for quite some time after the 3 days Just to add some more potty-experiences 😊
Having my daughter help clean was actually a big mistake! She then was more focused on cleaning than learning where/how to pee… loved your other advices! Hope this continues to go well for you both!!
I bought a $6 portable potty for my son, I started putting him on from time to time in the morning from he was 17 months. He's 19 months now and says stinky when he's going number 2, that's a good sign to me as I'm gonna take that as a queue to put him on it. I like the potty liner idea.
I’m just about to start potting training my 2 1/2 year old and so happy this video came out! He knows where to go potty, it seems like he knows when he has to go (because he runs and hides) and he will even say he wants to sit on the toilet sometimes, but for some reason he just won’t go number 2 in the potty, any advice on getting him to go in the potty?
1 potty trained my son after he turns 2 he got it after 2 days but he won’t go number two also for about a week lol. I think they’re scared to do number two I remember my son crying all the time cus he knows it needed to come out but doesn’t wanna sit and push he became so constipated. til one day I knew he need to go number 2 I distracted him by bringing his iPad and played his favorite show on it til he got it out and told him “see that’s nothing and it’s not scary it feel good to get it out” lol and that’s it but that was a pain cus he just cries and cries wen he knows it’s coming but don’t wanna push it out lol
I started the potty training journey. Then the next day a fever for 3 days straight then super sick for a week long aftwards. He asked for his nappy (diaper) and I know you shouldn't start this journey when unwell. So regressed back. Now need to start again. Sigh...
Anyone has any advice for a toddler that goes to daycare AND has been using pull ups regurarly for a year now? She shows a lot of signs of being ready, but how to coordinate it with going to daycare 5 days a week??
My daughter is a month you get than Arrow and we started her at 1.5 years. Going to watch this for future children. She does it very well but still prefer to poop in pull ups rather than toilet mostly. Pees fully on potty.
My daughter will not have her nappy off for even 2 minutes she screams at me to put it on. Also will not even attempt to sit on the potty so I don’t know what to do !
Started using the potty with my daughter at 7 months when she could sit on it. She's 19 months and still uses diapers but uses the potty everyday. She's so used to it now we are gonna stop using diapers. It's just hard to get the daycare to do it too
I learned a lot from your baby sleeping training. Could you say something about transition to the todler bed? My son is sleeping very well independently but I'm terrified of the transition now 🙃
Thanks Brittany for another great vid! How old is Arrow again? I always try and follow you guys’ journies because my toddler is a little bit younger than Arrow. (He’s 2.5 years)
Love your videos. Sending you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the 🇬🇧. We are about to start potty training in the new year ✨️ 😊 🤔🤪 wish us luck hahaa
I started potty training at 9 months. Don't recommend waiting this long. There will be regressions sometime tho. Once your toddler can get up and run good luck having them sit on the potty
I appreciate you mentioning that it was an emotional journey for you. I really struggled after breast feeding partially due to my hormones but emotionally it was way more challenging than I anticipated. My little one (and me!) isn’t ready yet for potty training but might be soon. I’d love to try the three day method but everything except our kitchen is carpeted. 😬 Any tips?
I would probably designated one room to the training, lay down waterproof mats, and just had loads of activities planned for those 3 days. Sounds like your kitchen and bathroom isn’t carpeted. I would do some baking and bath time to break things up a bit ❤
