What a great idea for a video. My worst nightmare would be having major issues in a place that I couldn't speak the language. Very impressive that nothing has arisen that you haven't fixed or adapted to during your adventures. Well done!
Thank you! Ya, that is definitely a big fear of ours too! Thank goodness for Google translate though. We are trying to learn more of the engine maintenance so we might even be able to do more ourselves eventually.
Hey guys, glad to see you're bashing through the problems and staying focused on your dreams. Sorry I haven't been able to comment much lately, but I've been trying to keep up on your adventures where I can. Keep up the good work!
In case it also helps, Ford Transits are a really common vehicle in the UK (in fact, Fords in general)...so you may find getting things from the UK easier if you do ending up needing any parts/ assistance while in Europe, if availability in Europe is a problem).
Very true! We have noticed that most Ford Transits here are actually diesel, while ours is gas. We have been able to source some parts locally, but I think we will need to get our brake pads internationally. I think it's not a big problem, we just have to plan ahead, which can sometimes be tough. Thanks for the tip!
So many moving parts!! I’m not surprised you’ve had so many issues! It’s a real learning curve for you two and very informative for anyone building or thinking of building out a van! ❤💜🇨🇦
I don't think I understand? The shower pan idea for under the sink? If so, I was meaning that as a back up, I would still be using the jugs and then if they overflow the shower pan catches the overflow so it doesn't spread through the entire van
I wonder whether a handheld ‘wet & dry’ vacuum (or a window vac like a Karcher one) would work for emptying your shower tray, as some seem to have reasonable collection capacities & there are USB re-chargeable ones too? Plus they have the added benefit of using them as a normal vacuum too, & being pretty small & easy to store. Hope this thought is helpful for you and/ or for others.
I hadn't really thought about it! I think a lot of the water is safe to drink here. We didn't get sick - so that's good! We are still in Greece now, but headed to Bulgaria soon 🙂
