Undertale: September 15, 2015 Deltarune Ch1: October 31, 2018 Deltarune Ch2: September 23, 2021 Every existing installment of the Undertale “franchise” has released 3 years apart from each other. Assuming consistency, chapter 3 will release sometime this year.
Based on the recent newsletter, I would guesstimate that chapters 2-5 will drop at around this time next year or the year after. EDIT: Forgot that ch5 is probably releasing separately, I’d assume that 3 & 4 will come out late this year or early next year
@@papyrusse. That's cause theres only 2 released so far lol. In the newsletter he says 3 & 4 will release together while Chapter 5 will release at a later date, separate from 3&4's release.

I am a bit worried about the ending of these chapters as if toby wanted chapter 5 to be apart of the bundle then he had a specific cliffhanger for the end of chapter 5 but now that chapter 5 isnt apart no more this means toby will have to cut the storyline short for this section as we will need a cliffhanger for chapter 4
You're kinda over thinking it,I highly doubt toby wouldn't have a solid ending planned for chapter 4.After all individual chapters can have cliffhangers, chapter 1 had for chapter 2 and chapter has one for chapter 3, and I'm sure chapter 4 will have one of some kind that will string them together.
At least you guys are getting communication. We in the Silksong community have been waiting for the game since 2018 while Team Cherry has been radio silent since December 2019. At least you are getting progress updates while we would be happy if Team Cherry just breathed.
Some speculation about chapter 3 suggests that it actually WON'T fully take place in the TV, notably because of how certain details in the green room seem to reflect important details related to other places in the house, such as the old, weathered blue couch on the right representing Kris' side of the bedroom, with the pristine green couch on the left representing Asriel's. However, I think this is just as likely evidence that the dark worlds reflect the will of the lightner who creates its fountain (as suggested by previous discussions about the fountains and the process of opening them), revealing that Kris is aware of and likely holds disdain toward Asriel or perhaps even Toriel for the way they are clearly the less favorable child. Chapter 3 will have a LOT to say about Kris as a character if this is the case, and may even help reveal more about whoever opened the OTHER fountains (assuming it wasn't Kris, but also gives valuable information even if it was), as we may come to understand the motives, or rather the will utilized to create it. Previous fountains seem as if they're designed with helping certain characters in particular- the first one for Susie, helping her to open up, make friends, and show that she isn't just the monster she was perceived as. The second seemingly for a combination of Noelle and Berdly, though I think Berdly was just a convenient coincidence. Noelle learned how to become stronger, and to stand up to a controlling motherly figure, and Berdly learned to not be so full of himself with a mightier than thou personality. Given this pattern, the third fountain will likely be with regards to the relationship between Toriel and Kris, helping to correct the obvious family favoritism. And, if this pattern is to continue, each dark world will serve a specific purpose in developing certain townsfolk' characters, and those characters are likely the specific ones from Kris' own life. Taking that into account, Asgore's flower shop is an obvious candidate moreso than even others, but the rest are not so clear based on info we have now. Other characters don't seem to have as relevant backstory with Kris as the ones we can expect based on this pattern, so unless somebody ELSE creates a fountain (like Noelle), then I think the final chapter will involve creating a fountain designed specifically for Asriel when he arrives in town. A fountain located in the bunker south of town, to finally reveal the events before the game starts with Kris, Asriel, Noelle, and Dess. The events that lead to her disappearance.

I don’t know why people think it will take place in the TV. Every Dark World has been a full room, not just an object. The TV is probably gonna be a character like Queen was a Computer.
@@jackofclubs6229 For starters; One is an accident, two is a coincidence, and THREE is a pattern, so don't try to use the first two as an EXCLUSIVE rule (I use the first two as evidence for a THEORY under the assumption that it IS a pattern, which is different than using it as evidence to outright DISPROVE a theory). Secondly, there is plenty of OTHER evidence to assume that chapter 3 will be based in the TV primarily. The shadow men are clearly characters from late night noir detective/mafia movies, there are two characters based on the morning weather channel, a character named Mike (presumed to be Mic-Ro-Phone), and ANOTHER character named Tenna (like TV Antenna), whose crew is referred to as "That Cathode's Crew", which can be seen as referring to Tenna as a "cathode" as an insult for being outdated CRT based technology. The green room is a concept used in media production, namely movies and TV shows. All teasers we have available for chapter 3 suggest it is almost entirely based in the TV, and the only counter-evidence is, as I said, not sufficient to use to disprove the idea in its entirety.
I don’t think the Green Room means chapter 3’s dark world will be just the tv, I just think the TV is definitely the focal point because it’s the main thing in a living room, like we could have something to do with Chariel maybe but idk, also my personal belief is that the green room appears later in the chapter (not the beginning) because it uses the Hip Shop motif, which Color cafe, the end of chapter shop of chapter 2, also uses
turns out, the chapter 3 dark world represents the whole house, as we can see in the green room, there’s a Maus, representing the one found in the light world at Asriel’s pc
I don't really mind what ends up happening~ The doggo and team have already proven themselves to be good storywriters. I fully trust that this game will be good regardless of how they go about it.
I can see two things happening in terms of characters. Either for each chapter the main three are joined by different lighteners that also have there face in their text box (example: jockington) or Noelle and Berdly will remain in the spot light, showing up in the other dark worlds
I saw a Theory that at The End of the Game we will all take a Happy photo and in The Weird Route the faces of everyone else would be scribbled like in the Soulless-Pacifist Ending in UT!
You made a mistake saying that ch4 might be a fully hometown chapter. Toby already said in newsletters that its a standart chapter and it has bullets for it already made.
A feeling I’ve gotten for awhile now is that at some point in the future chapters (regarding unusual gameplay elements) there might be a brief, sort of 3-D portion of the game, like claymation or something. Specifically what popped in my head (for some reason) was that one kinda creepy portion of Homestuck where they turned into rudimentary clay figures.
In every 3 years, a chapter releases so... Chapter 1 - 2018 Chapter 2 - 2021 Chapter 3 - 2024 (THIS YEAR!!) Chapter 4 - 2027 (?) Chapter 5 - 2030 (?) Chapter 6 - 2033 (?) Chapter 7 - 2036 (?) But there is a note that i heard before. It was from Toby Fox and it was saying: "Chapter 3 and a few chapters are already ready..." or something like that i dont remember. WE WILL SEE! THIS FILS ME WITH HOPE.!
From 2018 to 2024 and we just got two chapters.....and the wait just for two more chapters which was planned for 3 chapters The hype is dying man i want to experience more Undertale universe in it's fullest before i die
I honeslty wouldnt mind chapter 4 being all hometown because it means we get to explore more of the characters and the map more and maybe we'll be able to see noelles mom because it seems like a good idea to make her debut in chapter 4 if its like all hometown

Chapter 3 is gonna take place innthe entire Dreemurr household. The green room couches represent Kris and Asriel's bed. And the counter has knives on it (From the kitchen) and a mouse.

a new valentines newsletter came out and while there wasnt much new content we at least learned the weather people's names are lanino and elnina, tho it isnt really clear which is which
was half expecting this video to just be like those hard drive articles where it talks about everything we know about elder scrolls 6 and its completely blank
I think it will be the living room, but the TV seemingly will be the main darkner in charge of the dark world like King and Queen, and therefore will have a very large influence on the shape the other darkners take as well as the dark world itself.

Ok I am hoping (and this probably won’t happen) there is a light world section where there is a school party / dance. This would work with the more over world focused screenshots, and some of the concept art. (specifically Susie getting punch) I think that this idea, although not likely, would be fun and I like the idea a lot. Also it would imply more birdly content and that’s a win.
I'm starting to think the dark world's aren't effected by the rooms they take place in but just the objects in the rooms. Chapter 1 had a whole lot of darkness, a giant checkerboard, & somehow a castle but nothing that makes me think of a closet when I see it. Chapter 2 seemed to take place in the computers or maybe just on the internet & objects from around the room were there but there wasn't much that felt like it was based on the computer lab itself. Just its contents. Then again, there was a lot of green floor before the city & I think the computer lab has green floor so... I don't know.
Do you think that the areas of this chapter will go through the day's brodcasts? Like starting with the weather then going to the movies and then at the end of the day the tv will turn off and you'll be released to seal the fountain.
Maybe for the sitting down and the punch there is a party and you can go in it and you can interact with everyone in ur class in deltarune and get punch that Susie gets a drink of, but it’s just my theory!
A really good idea based around the Chess Theory I’ve heard is that the TV’s full name could be Mike Rook and that Chapter 4’s dark world could potentially be in the church, since Bishops (the next in line after rooks) are typically related to religion.
Did people actually think the dark worlds weren’t all going to be themed around different kinds of media? Did people see the smiling TV and not think it was going to be a TV world? I thought it was pretty obvious with Toby’s obsession with meta-narratives taken into account that each dark world would represent different kinds of fiction. We even have a video game series and mass marketed fictional mascot brand (dragon blazers and Ice-E) that are almost certainly going to play parts as dark worlds… But no… living room world, I guess.
In chapter 1 in the closet there could be like cardboard castles for example and chessboards, It would make sense that since Kris made the dark fountain in the living room the dark world would represent the living room in some sorts
@@PonikoRoblox that’s because it represented physical media and fiction like dolls, cards, and tabletop games. Nobody should’ve thought the living room was an option when the computer lab dark world represented the internet and not the computer lab
@@foggy8298 My theory is that c3 is mainly going to be about the tv, but will have some elements from the house, thats why there's the cactus on the green room. And c2 was mainly about the internet/laptop but we also see the ferris wheel poster and the trashcan possibly referencing spamtom being in the dark world too.
thankfully the release of undertale yellow can stave off the fandom's need for more content for a while, we have a whole other game to pick apart and play through repeatedly unril the release of chapter 3 and 4.
Actually there is so much more. The Spamton Sweepstakes revealed many other things like all Noelle's blog dialogues, various Spamton comments, and also other secret sections of Deltarune site (the TV one, the armchair, and also others that were just funny)
3:10 idk if i’m being crazy, but it sounds like the beginning home hometown day is a leitmotif of “Waterfall” (Which is a motif of Another Medium/Patient) Or it could be a motif from the Snowdin Town theme
Here’s a theory I thought of in 5.13 seconds: the main bosses are likely to be chess pieces. I’m chapters 1&2 we have King and Queen. We know the main antagonist is called the “Knight”. And Kris is the player’s Pawn.
I got into undertale last year because I saw my buddy ol pals playing Undertale Yellow and wanted to try it out, but this year I have gotten REALLY into ut/dr, trying to scrape for any at least decent fangame to quell my thirst for undertale, so this video has been very cathartic
I feel like chapter 4 will be the diner, given that there's concept art of scenes based around food that seem to take place within it. Also food, in certain contexts, can be treated as entertainment and all the previous stages are all based around various forms of entertainment (Board games, internet, and TV). Also also if the chess theory turns out to be true, rook and cook do rhyme. So... there's that.
