i've seen so many people hating on it and saying it's the "worst title RGG came up with yet" but honestly that B-movie title feel just feels 100% majima to me, i think it was a good choice
Yokoyama was serious when he said RGG's next title would be something unexpected lol crazy premise of a game and knowing that this is a gaiden game (its japanese title has Gaiden in it), means that RGG is also making another mainline or bigger project like Judgment or something EIther way, so excited!
Somebody found that all of this information was leaked on Reddit in May, but it got no attention because nobody believed it Unexpected is an understatement

I hope the whole hack and slash formula is exclusive to Majima- it fits him incredibly well and makes sense for certain characters to have specific playstyles. Kiryu has the OG Brawler formula, Ichiban has the RPG format and Majima has the hack and slash.
A Majima Gaiden game where he becomes a pirate was something I did not see coming. At least RGG is actually giving us a Majima game, even if it's not taking place between Yakuza 0 and 1.
The possibility of a Saejima Gaiden or Akiyama Gaiden actually has me really excited. It's a natural next step from the DLC campaigns RGG have experimented with in the past to give side protagonists much more of a spotlight
@@darektrankiewicz880 Akiyama probably would have some kind of Detective Vibes in his Gaiden Game, as he would have some Villains/Factions that would threaten his business or anything but weirdly his Villain was like Mysterious in some kind of way and here Akiyama needs to finds out why and Who basically Well this is just my thinking lol, but I think it will be great to have Loan Shark Detective vibes 😎
So basically Kiryu was on Chemotherapy, Ichiban was on Vacations, Saejima and Daigo were doing their own stuff (hope after this we could Get Saejima Full game tho, lowkey hoping lol) And Here we Got Majima stranded on some Island and got Amnesia and will dealt with some new Foes and also Conflicts that would fleshed out his character even more, hell yeah for Majima Game again after his Protagonist playable days during Yakuza 0 and Majima Saga on Kiwami 2 😌✨ But of course Majima will eventually get his memory back lol and then he will probably have a time to tells Noah about his time during Tojo Era or even Cabaret Manager Era that would motivates Noah to be brave yeah i can see that Happening Anyways can't wait to Play As Majima again along with His Mad Dog Style and the New One Seadog Style as Pirate 😌 ✨
Not a fan of how Majima is going to have amnesia at the beginning, but besides that, the gameplay and the customization akin to the boutique from Gaiden got my attention.
Masaru's Love Journey actually has me kinda interested. I've rarely enjoyed the hostess minigames in RGG titles as the live action footage intended to be the main appeal doesn't interest me at all. But this version actually appears to be filmed skits/scenarios, instead of a camera wobbling back and forth in a woman's direction for three minutes, so there's a solid chance I might have more fun with it.
I love that line "its like the game was made by Majima", I wonder if thats what they're going for? With that Majima-telling-the-story framing device I get the vibe there's supposed to be some intentional ambiguity on whether or not its embellished or all this crazy stuff really happened 🤣
I already love the inclusion of Noah. He is such a cutie patootie and I can't wait to see how he interacts with Majima. Plus I hope there will be DLC where we get pirate outfits for everyone.
If the coliseum is anything like Gaiden's, then we could potentially get a fight against a "phantom Kiryu" like how you could fight majima, Saijima, and daigo. Wouldn't that also be the first time we could fight kiryu as majima? HUGE POTENTIAL
This game should be called as "Like a Dragon Gaiden: the man who forgets his name" or "Like a Dragon Gaiden majima saga: Pirate journey" Also are we getting saejima gaiden after Like a Dragon 9?

ngl i'm not really expecting it since they didn't really showcase it all with this game aside from the fact that it's there at all, but we'll see as more info comes out about the game over the next 5 months
So maybe I missed something regarding that wildside merch. Is it out yet and do we know where we can buy the merch as I would love to see a some plain black clothes with a yakuza tattoo on the back
RGG was right, I did not have Pirate Majima in Hawaii on my bingo card. Still holding out hope for a Judgment 3 announcement but I'll happily take this!
Hopefully we get Ryuji Gohda’s Like a Dragon Gaiden spinoff sometime later in the future. I imagine the spinoff will come out by the time season 2 of Like a Dragon Yakuza comes out.
Maybe Yagami jacket being in wardrobe is reference to all the mods which swap them, like EXactions, or Yagami died of ligma shit i dont know, Goro looted that bag
They get to reuse assets a lot and iteratively update it so that should help cut down dev time. However even with that they still crank quality games out so fast.
I probably will down the line. Between the series technically switching to "Like a Dragon", to dropping the numbering in many titles and so on, the entire rebranding has just been a mess to make sense of, even if you've been with the community for a while.
Dont get me wrong i'd play any yakuza games the release but i kinda miss the more realistic and gritty storytelling of the earlier games(i know we still had the castle scene in yakuza 2 but still). A pirate game seems awesome but I'd like something that's not THAT over the top too
I hated the ichiban games tbh, and I hated Hawaii.... tried hard to like it as I've been playing it for 20 years now. It just isnt for me. I'm glad Judgement and Gaiden titles are back to being brawlers
Not interested it looks like it’s going to be a weak entry to the series kinda like Ichiban isn’t as good as people say I can’t stand him this is RGG’s version of trying to be black flag
