@@TheEditorMatt I think its campaign and multiplayer is better, but vanguards zombies is better ONLY because it has way, way more features (aka its a reskinned cw zombies)
0:50 Trigger Discipline is not practiced during WW2. It's only a mandatory firearm discipline after the Vietnam War Also if you really want to be nitpicky: no one held pistols with both hands during WW2
@@Nate_M_PCMR they were trained to hold pistols with a single hand. But then again, no one carried their rifles like the ones in-game. They had to carry it at the base of the weapon. Instead of the "ready to fire" style in FPS games.
@jerbs5346 it's not that people are irresponsible now with guns, it's just feral blacks committing so much gun crime in the USA. If you got rid of all the black crime, the gun crime in the USA would be around the same as Belgium.
Good video but I don't quite get the Magnum nitpick, yes it was never "standard issue" to the US Army but officers could buy their own sidearms instead of using the 1911 and it wasnt out of the ordinary for enlisted to carry pistols they acquired as well. There are in fact some written accounts of Registered Magnums being carried into combat by US troops simply because they had purchased them back home and brought them along with them.
I read that this tradition was kept in the army up to even the Vietnam war, where soldiers would bring their own weapons with them. But after this there were done more rigorous checks, so during the Iraq war the practice was stamped out completely.
1:58 to be fair you can load the Gewehr 43 by changing the magazine or by stripper clips but usually I've seen the Gewehr 43 most commonly loaded with magazines. During the war, to save on resources and all, I'm sure its easier to just use stripper clips instead of changing the whole magazine.
@Wilhelm Von Berghoff Gewehr 43 like the SVT 40, was only issued with two spare magazines (plus the one in the gun) so you wouldn't be changing mags very often, and would mostly use stripper clips
@@seanherrmann6301 SVT were actually issued with 3 magazines (1 in the gun, two spare) and 12 stripper clips. In soviet supply system stripper clips were issued with guns, not with ammo
Good video, if I may though : - The M7 launcher entered service in 1943 and was widely used. - For the Springfield M1903A1 it's not missing the front sight, they literally modeled what looks like a M1903A4 instead of the proper A1. - Holding a STG 44 by the mag is un-practical as it's way too low and close to the other hand and may cause jam. On an other matter, it's funny how this game from 2008 is still more historically accurate than Vanguard lmao. - The FG 42 is missing its bipod.
Also the MG42 reload is incorrect with the bolt being pulled back after loading in a new belt even though it should be done before putting in a new belt since it’s open bolt
in the campaign, every fg42 you can find is classed as deployable, and I'm pretty sure there is a bipod on the model, but you can never actually deploy it Plus the fg42 cannot swap between semi-auto and full auto (it could in earlier cod games)
Actually holding the STG44 by the mag was actually often used as the metal handguards would get hot pretty quickly. While you are sacrificing recoil control, if you're not wearing thick gloves, you would burn your hands otherwise.
One word for flicking a revolver. *you are in a war, with people dying all over, or inside a tiny bunker with zombies trying to eat you* Not to be rude but its not like a shooting range, i would honestly rather reload more conveniently than just you know. Doing it properly
@@freedoomer2524 they dont add more than one animation now, they wont back in the early 2000s where they gave a shit gameplay wise, its a gun in a old Arcade WW2 fast paced dark era FPS. Not a Gun Simulator in a controlled environment.
@@Krejii05 bro im talking about the people that make gun showcase videos and say how flicking it shut isnt reccomended. I know its a damn game but there are games that do it properly
@@freedoomer2524 yes, but im saying, it makes sense, that a game based in WW2, you know a *war* with drafted soldiers would want to load a gun faster than properly
The G41 was only loaded with stripper clips, while the G43 was loaded with both magazine and strippers, atleast from what I can gather. This can also be applied to the SVT 38 and SVT 40.
A soldier who had a G43 or SVT-40 would have a few loaded magazines but more stripper clips mainly due to logistics, plus so you don't just dump the empty magazine on the ground during a fire fight
Another sin for rifle grenade launchers on bolt-action rifles: the guy keeps shooting and putting the grenades on the barrel, but doesn't chamber another round
Honestly if they a made a “World At War 2” with updated graphics, fixed animation errors and bugs, added new weapons that weren’t DLC, I think we’d all go nuts for it. I love this game. I recognise its flaws and errors but it’s an inditement on the current gaming industry that a game from 2008 with its hardware limitations and technically less knowledge of WW2…is better than a game made this year.
Although it was possible, topping off the M1 was never done in combat. GIs and Marines didn't generally carry loose rounds for their rifles, why would they? They generally either emptied the magazine or did partial reloads although the latter wasn't as common. Secondly, the only difference between a Registered Magnum and a Model 27 was the markings. Smith & Wesson moved from model names to model numbers in the mid-50s. Other than that, good video.
Shhh, Munancho tries to be cool by copying other famous channels, like CinemaSins and M4sked, but being a cringe kid and failling at both. I mean... the guy once answered my question to where does he takes his info and he replied that he gets his own research from forums. Not manuals or actual gun experts... but f*cking random forums.
I like the manner of the pistol handling in this game, Holding the pistols with a teacup grip wasn't wrong (for that time), altough holding it with just one hand is a far more correct for the game's history setting. But at least the teacup grip is far more suited instead of the modern finger-wrapping pistol grip in vanguard 🤢
About the browning M1919, I think that part where he holds on the barrel has a cloth on it. Idk but that cloth maybe can actually hold the heat from the barrel and also, soldiers back then wouldn't straight up shooting full auto with MGs like that they would just shoots 5 rounds instead so I maybe be crazy but I can see it can't be that entirely wrong. Also John Basilone used the M1919 in Guadacanal which it was were he got his medal of honor for it by using this gun holding with the hand on the barrel which caused to get his hands burned.
Basilone used a M1917 since the Marines at the time didn't have the 1919 but he was basically firing the gun for 3 days and moving it around and the barrel jacket was hot he created the carrying handle when he was training marines on the new 1919
Also it was incorrectly described in the video as a Russian weapon rather than an American one. Perhaps this might have stemmed from its one appearance in the Russian campaign, near the end of the mission "Ring of Steel"
@@spdfatomicstructure where is the M1919 in the Russian campaign don't know its there all I know is that the Russians in the final mission use M9 Bazokas that reznov says fire the panzershrek despite them being Bazokas and the Germans use M2 flamethrowers
About the shotguns tube capacity, in WAW the trench gun actually does hold 6 shells. I think in multiplayer they only had it hold 4 for a balancing purpose cuz shot guns are pretty annoying to go against
@@GetTheFO I remember vaguely of how terrible it was to be on the other end either shotgun since it was all about the MP40 + Jug + steady aim meta plagued the game. It's been over 10 years since I played the game. Good times.
@@sacredprovenance I still remember going into lobbies where literally everyone was running the MP40 hahaha. Swear some of the best times I’ve had in games were on WaW.
1:11 springfields were only seen limited to snipers at this time which chopped off the front sight post. The scope could be a bit more historically accurate since US marksman optics were usually very low powered (only 3.5x). What's shown in WAW is an anachronistic 8x scope that was seen during the Rice Farmer War
No? The US Army used a variety of low power scopes on its own sniper rifle variant, the M1903A4, and that one did have no front sight. However, the USMC adopted the 8x Unertl scope to fit on its 1903A1s (which should be the variant in-game), and those kept the front sight. The "anachronistic 8x scope [in Vietnam]" you refer to was the same Unertl from WW2, just mounted on Winchester model 70s. The specific 3D model in-game is still inaccurate though, for example it doesn't have the external adjustment knobs.
Sometimes the "this gun was never used" can be forgiven if its in the same timeframe. But ONLY if its done right (Being the HIGHEST level, going through quite some trouble for it) Honestly the bolt not opening thing I forgive as well since... Ya know- 2009 PS3/XBOX 360 limitations as well as the DB ejecting rifle casings since the jank system most likely didn't allow a gun to *not* eject casings in one for or another.
I don’t think a lot of people know but Americans in ww2 used guns they got sent from home all the had to do is ask their commander if it ok and find ammo for it so some people would have used revolver hell a general used a single action army revolver
I agree, and if the mosin doesn’t open the bolt then it’s still fine compared to lots of other guns in either vanguard or waw, I mean at least the thing looks and functions as it should
Limitations? That doesn't make any sense, a bunch of the other bolt guns have the bolt opening properly, it's just animation jank. Same with the DBS firing casings, it's the only gun that does that, it's just an oversight too.
Tbh the time period makes the trigger discipline normal. If anything it would be odd to see it in active practice in this time period. Also them 2d png mags tho
2:17 That's complete and utter bulls*it nitpicking, because let's be honest: it's way more simple to just eject the partially empty en-bloc clip than to manually top it off with one round at a time in the heat of battle. Jonathan Ferguson, the weapons curator and expert at the Royal Armouries said it himself in Gamespot's video about Battlefield V weapons. Many Garand owners also said it was a chore to top off an M1 Garand rifle. 6:38 That's just pure bulls*it, it's not even nitpicking, the M7 GL actually entered production and saw widespread use from 1943 and onward.
@@mildlyupset6011 Ah, but I am not nitpicky about things that have been wronged in WaW. Like the Thompson M1A1 accepting a drum mag or having to lock back the bolt handle. However... when you are being nitpicky, do it right or don't do it at all, otherwise, you are just one hypocrite douchebag.
The Thompson drum if it theoretically would fit in the m1a1, would go in sideways not upwards, also the fg42 has a last round bolt hold open on the full auto mode, so the reload animation is incorrect. The german soldiers were actually issued with spare G43 magazines, and had pouches for said magazines, and I have a feeling it was even more unlikely to see a double barreled shotgun in ww2 than it was to see a .357 magnum revolver. Also, holding a 1919 that way is actually fine, especially considering the in game character has some cloth or whatever wrapped around the barrel. The bigger issue would be since you're essentially holding a machine gun by the stock, your hands would likely hurt from the weight and power of the machine gun if you shot it long enough.
I just noticed that the Sturmgewehr was ejecting full size Mauser casings. No wonder Vanguard got it wrong, they saw this game and were like "let's do that again!"
4:41 I think it makes sense the Americans wouldn’t hold the gun correctly as it’s a foreign gun in the campaign I’m pretty sure the Japanese actually do hold the gun correctly
Yeah, that can be seen in the Russian Campaign, how you (Dimitri Petrenko) reloads and holds the STG44 and the MP40 in a way that you can see he doesn't understand how to properly use it
One thing you missed is on almost all the bolt actions, the rear of the bolt turns when it shouldn't. It should stay in the same position when unlocking.
The reason why the sound of depicted accurate is because they use real gun sounds the development team literally went to a firing range to fire the weapons
Ptrs was so hard to fire that even if u get a shot while prone in real life it has a massive recoil hit that it was the main reason of some anti tank unit solider broke their shoulders
M4sked did not say "flicking the revolver's cylinder shut isn't recommended as it could damage the crane" It was originally from FrostThreat48's imfamous quote.
I think people in the comments are purposelly defending these obvious errors because of nostalgia. If Vanguard had these exact same errors and nothing more people would go crazy
4:28 I know most side loaded SMGs shouldn't be held by the mag, but doesn't the curved magazine allow that to be possible without causing jamming? I know guns like the MP18 did allow it, but I forget if the 100 could as well.
The M1 Carbine does have a bolt hold system although it's manual, there's a small button on the top side that you press down on while pulling the bolt back to lock it. Still, it isn't automatic as the game depicts although I wish that was the case IRL
The thing with the Garand is 100% true. It's kind of an intricate process, but you can essentially pin the clip between the bolt and the breech, allowing you to stick some more rounds into it.
Few addition for DP-27/8: 1. It should have slightly higher fire rate. 2. Russians usually refer it as DP-27 which is referred to the year it was designed, 1927. While the West refer it as DP-28 for the year it was produced. 3. For some reason, it was only appeared in Multiplayer despite it's a perfect weapon for the Single Player mode. But there are some historical mods could be able to solve this and its fire rate for us, thankfully.
One thing about the trigger discipline is that, when we look at pictures from the past, it seems that a lot of people (even in the military and police service) just didn't give a damn about keeping your finger off the trigger.
No rounds in the magazines? Tech limitations, (this is 2008 mind you) Trigger discipline? Yea that’s a relatively new concept during maybe the 80’s definitely the 90’s
technically, he wa doing the m1919 correctly, as some soldiers would use a wet rag to prevent burning (rag can be seen on the barrel) but it needs to be changed fter a while, if im not mitaken, 60 shots because the heat will make the water evaporate, and lead to the rag cathing fire
Can't remember if I commented on this video or another one but the M1919A4 is all jacked up. It looks like he's holding the barrel jacket with a cloth ammo belt wrapped around to protect your hand. While a good idea, it doesn't help much with raising it up to eye level and shooting as it weighs 35lbs. When you hold it by the barrel jacket and the pistol grip it's very awkward and hard to hold up even with good upper body strength. The sights are also incorrect. They're flipped up and missing the adjustable aperture. Lastly, the reloading is all wrong. It's a closed bolt machine gun and there is no bolt hold open. There was a safety bar that could be added but it's not on there as far as I could tell. And even if it was you don't pull it forward as the bolt will potentially not seat correctly if helped forward. When reloading you do it one of two ways. 1. Open the top cover, lift up the feed pawl, place ammo into feed tray, lower the feed pawl on first round, close feed tray cover, and then pull the bolt to the rear and release. 2. Insert cloth belt with metal pull tab into the opening of the feed tray with the cover closed, pull and release the bolt to the rear twice. I know that's super in-depth but I own one and I hate when it's portrayed wrong.
