Look, I'm okay with representation and stuff But come on, the show has been running for 8 years, people were excited for the finale, and instead we get a dumb one where the villain is defeated by a roast Just for a representation that you can find on different shows (Plus, the lesbian representation has been there since jailbreak)

I have this philosophy where all my stories and its characters are almost an entirely different world and people, with its own logic and their own beliefs. So, however the story would naturally progress is (should be) outside of the writer's control. Even if your beloved character is progressing to become a bad person, pushed by the other characters and their environment (naturally and believably mind you), then so be it. If you don't want it to be like that, then you must change everything to not be like that and shouldn't force that kind of change. What i'm trying to say is, i wouldn't prioritise my belief and politics into my stories, especially if it's just as a form of protest. Don't get me wrong, RS's decision to go through with the marriage anyway despite knowing the consequences were bold and respectable, but not admirable. Respectfully, if you wanted to do a protest, just do a protest, don't have your life's work that people had enjoyed for so long be cut in half, gutted, and then ridiculed (justifiably). Granted, if the marriage episode WAS actually a seemingly natural progression of the story (i'd argue not really), then it would only be a matter of being idealistic or realistic. Like, how in an apocalypse, some people don't have the power or competence to save everyone, so they make *sacrifices* and focus on what's most important. Or maybe like irl, where if you're not rich, you can't really spare all of your dollars on charity, you gotta think about your bills, so you make *sacrifices*. But of course you can be idealistic and try to practice your beliefs to the letter all the time, again, respectable, but not admirable. So, if i were in RS's shoes i would hold of anything that would make those godforsaken autocratic, theocratic and dictatorial countries wet their pants (at least not as obvious, like a whole ass marriage and at least not in the *middle* of the story). But that's just my way of thinking and i'm just sharing it.
