Regarding boat repair, yes, you would likely be very surprised. A pulley boom, a pulley block, a very large fishing net, a cable, and likely some very heavy strain on the winch motor. I could easily see that putting that boat out of commission for at least a day or so, which in itself would cost thousands in lost profits, to say nothing of personnel costs and repairs.

In regards to the last sin. The water in the bags is presumably tap water. The ocean water would have a much higher consantration of minerals and wat not giving it a higher density than the water in the bags which means it would generate more of an upwards force, also there is air in the bags.

The bags are floating because there's a little air bubble at the top, and the fish can't produce downward thrust because the bags are sealed. The real question is why they are floating as though they were filled with air, mostly above the surface, instead of like they actually should, mostly below the surface. But that's just a minor nitpick...

If you've ever actually put fish into an aquarium, you find that their bags do in fact float on the surface. www.thefishwish.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/DSCN3043.jpg This is done to let the fish acclimate to the temperature of the water, and it probably floats mostly thanks to the shape of the bag and pushing against the water molecules and all that but also, there's usually a good amount of air trapped in the bag and if you know how pontoons work, there you go. Additionally, the ocean has a high amount of salt and the salinity tends to help with the buoyancy of things; swimming in the Mediterranean(i.e. a salty sea), I didn't even have to tread water to keep my head above water while I have to tread fairly hard in lakes in Ohio(aka almost zero salt by comparison) for the same effect. Salty water = more dense than salt-free water = more upward force on the round bag filled partially with air = good buoyancy. ~Science~

With the "Thousands of dollars" thing, even if the mast didn't need to be fully rebuilt it would still be a pricey repair and a motor driven wench like that not only being stopped by forced to operate in reverse has a high risk of frying the motor, which would be a thousand dollar repair, on top of any inspections to the ship that would have to be done after such major repairs. Granted that's all worst case scenarios, but "thousands of dollars" isn't much of an overstatement. Clown fish likely are faster than manta rays, as small fish can be shockingly fast, BUT it's highly unlikely that a clownfish can sustain that speed over the distance in question. Clown fish can swim fast overa couple meters but probably not much beyond that, as there is basically no reason for them to ever travel further than that at a "sprint"

What do these sharks eat, then? Sharks are not omnivores; they have multiple sets of sharp teeth. I don't see how popping the bag would help all that much. Surely now you're in a plastic bag with several small holes in it, which I'd think is more of a suffocation risk. The pressure inside those bags is not sufficient for them to burst like balloons

bags full of water DO float in water, because a) there's always a tiny bit of air in there and air is lighter than water, b) things only sink in water if they are heavier than the water, c) plastic is not heavier than water, and d) WATER is not heavier than water. To be fair, the bags should be mostly submerged. Unless the water in the bag is clear water (which why would you put saltwater fish in clear water), the only part of the bag that would float above the water is the air part. and also, there's this thing called buoyancy. it's the reason ships don't sink, despite being WAAAAAYYY heavier than water.
