Everything Wrong With Ghostbusters (2016) 

I've never seen the movie. Watching this will be the closest to watching it and I plan to keep it that way.

"Why is everything so dumbed down!?!" That right there explains Hollywood today and their movie-making approach. It's only going to get worse and worse sadly.

Remember when they tried to accuse anyone who didn't like this movie of being misogynists? The sole reason I watched it was to see if that claim had any shred of credibility. No... no it did not.

The first problem with the comedy in this movie is that it was mostly improvised, apparently the actors were encouraged - even expected, to fill out the scenes with "funny moments" without any direction from the script or the actual director. The second problem with the comedy in this movie is that the original Ghost Busters wasn't a damn Comedy - it just had funny moments interspersed between actual plot and action.

The special effects in Ghostbusters 2016 are somehow worse than Ghostbusters 1984. That's gotta be worth 100 sins at least.

The problem with this movie is that it’s entire premise was built on “look were going to change the ghostbusters to girls, how amazing” and then completely forgot the other elements that made the original good…….I’ve not seen afterlife yet, but from the trailers, looks like it’s got things right…..and has a young girl who is a ghostbuster…..but whilst still paying respect to the original!

This movie has been recently been fixed. In the trailer for Ghostbusters Afterlife, they state that there hasn't been a ghost sighting in 30 years. It's been retconned and isnt recognized for the dumpster fire it is, crisis avoided!

I saw this movie in theaters seen as I love the original, and enjoyed the sequel, I thought I'd give it a shot. It's one of my biggest regrets.

The best part is that they've announced that the Ghostbusters Ultimate Collection omits this film with Paul Feig complaining that it must be an oversight as it won at the kids choice awards. This just proves 3 things: 1. Paul forgot that it lost an estimated $70mill after factoring other costs 2. An award show voted by kids (supposedly) where celebs get slimed on is hardly an endorsement of quality, especially when you consider that it beat Captain America: Civil War 3. Even Sony wants to forget that the film exists.

When you replace several extremely good comedians, an excellent screenwriter who knew exactly what he wanted, and and incidental cast who complemented each other and the story-line perfectly with this detritus you get a failed movie. It has nothing to do the gender of the cast, and everything to do with the fact that they are not funny, the writing is not funny, and it felt as if they had all only just met in the canteen.

I am so surprised that I didn't think about this aspect years ago, but Abby was holding a camera, and photographing the ghost. She was apparently looking at the screen, so she must have seen something. Why didn't they post THAT footage to RU-vid, instead of Erin's freakout footage? At the very least, if the ghost wasn't recorded, there should have been footage of the slime suddenly appearing.

7:45 I agree, McKinnon was pretty much the only watchable part of this movie. Even though it is comedy, she seems to be the only one who plays a slightly believable character. That was the best part of the original film. The characters were real and found comedy in the situation, they didn't have to be caricatures of actual people.

This movie is such an affront to the original as well as all other comedic films that I can't even watch this entire video. This film deserves a million sins on the counter forcing me to add 10 sins to Cinema Sins total sin count, bringing the total to 14.
