Two things: 1. This movie was really clever and funny, and a really unique way to parody action movies. On the other hand it did kind go off the rails near the end. 2. I would pay to see that action-hero Hamlet movie!

I also loved the scene where the bad guys drives away, and Jack is just like "watch this", and shoots at the car fully expecting it to blow up. Then when it doesn't, he just stares at his gun with this really confused look. I lol'ed so hard when I saw that the first time.

This movie was meant to be a parody of all the action hero movies. It was never meant to take itself serious. Especially the part where Jack says he always has to shoot his closet because an armed gunman is always behind and it costs him a fortune in closet doors

I can't express how much I love all of the movie theater and projectionist related sins. I also notice these types of mistakes in movies as a former movie theater employee/projectionist and (internally) sin them.

Somebody probably already said this, but the reel in use is the upper front inside the reel shaped cover, the takeup reel is below it inside another reel shaped cover. The ones on the back are for rewinding or storage while the main is playing...It would take a number of reel changes (2 projectors and maybe one more reel change) for a decent length movie.

At 2:00, movies DID use to run in the mornings. I remember going to movies to see the first show on the first day, and 10AM was a very common time for that. You'd be out just in time for lunch. But at some point the first movie of the day for theaters started getting moved back further, I have no idea when but i still remember movies showing in the mornings at theaters in the 90s.

For the record: Following it's wins, the Amadeus VHS release and subsequent posters (having an Amadeus poster up felt like a video store requirement) made a big deal out of the 8 Oscars. Even as a kid that was constantly in both mom and pop and chain video stores in the late 80s and early 90s, and had no idea what Amadeus was about at the time (nor any desire to know), knew about that magical 8 number. It was everywhere. Hard to miss.

Wouldn't playing the prequel to an extremely popular franchise before its sequel releases be a good idea? Everyone loves watching/re-watching the prequels before the next movie, the chance to go see it in theatres again is something people would gladly pay for.

I don't think I'll ever accept a reboot of this movie (if it were to happen). Everything in this movie is so well done and INCREDIBLY ahead of it's time. A reboot would kill any of the magic that this movie gave us as kids.

Seriously you have amazing talent making this movie, the soundtrack - hello ACDC HELL YES!, the action set pieces and car chases are actually entertaining as hell and still hold up - Arnold is back and better than ever and of course the T2 references are off the chain! It came out at the wrong time (JP) but (like Waterworld) I will ALWAYS defend this movie! Also seriously...who wouldn't want to go into their favorite TV show or movie?! I WOULD! Also Jeremy..and writing crew....I understand its all tongue and cheek...and for a laugh...I get it really...I do....but how...HOW CAN YOU NOT REMOVE A SIN FOR Charles Dance Dance is fucking amazing as the villain and if anything ANYTHING - should have had 5 sins removed at the introduction of his character with an explanation that you cant remove all the sins at every turn so here is 55 sins removed for you folks that care" sorta thing....I mean really?! Not enough of those my man ;)

Why the sins for the car diving off of the bridge and not being damaged? That is the _entire point._ It is parodying the fact that cars survive a wildly unrealistic level of destruction in action movies. It happens so often I'm surprised you don't have a sin that is simply "The car survives this." *Ding*

my biggest issue with this movie was the effects. That flying van ramp that exploded looked worse than the silkscreen of the moon, and i wasn in Long Beach while they were filming parts of this.

14:20 AND Dracula had an ad at the blockbuster. You don’t put ads up for upcoming rentals while the flick is still in the theatre. So that blockbuster scene had to have taken place in the future.

Depends on where you lived. We had a cheap seats theater that kept movies for a few extra months, so you could still see the movie in theaters even after they were released on vhs. When dvds started becoming popular, I used to go see a movie there, and if I liked it, would go to the store the next day to buy it.

Loved this movie. Two mistakes from narrator. He says that the home invader scene was not necessary but it is needed for an explanation for how Danny got out of the hand cuffs later in the film. 2nd, narrator asks why Dekker is mad at Slater when his own house is blown up. That was his ex wife's house.

Let me tell you about this movie. I was home sick as a kid when this was playing on cable. I tried explaining this film to my parents, and all of us were convinced it was a fever dream I created for years. This movie is so... busy, and bizarre, that I honestly can't believe it got post Terminator Schwarzenegger to star.

All the sins for theaters showing older movies... Uh, that's a thing. Ask Alamo Drafthouse. Or a lot of other independent theaters in larger cities that create either themed events or specialty events designed to bring in certain audiences. There's also low-end cheap theaters that deliberately show older movies to keep costs down and typically sell tickets at low prices and/or do double-features. In fact, half the theaters in my city did this prior to the pandemic.
