Aggressively bullying, at least the kind like threatening the actors family, horrible. The Reva character, however, is also horrible and should never have existed. Her entire arc just fluffs this bloated series and contributes nothing really to Obi-Wan's and Vader's story, the other Inquisitors already established could have kidnapped Leia for the same purpose.

8:37 Moses Ingram was an awful actress in this show ESPECIALLY in this episode. Its pretty amazing that this whole series was a sad embarrassment for the franchise, but she still stood out on top of that. She’s been convincing in other things so I really don’t understand what happened with her in this show, but you don’t need to pretend she did a good job just because Disney used her as a scapegoat for why this show did so poorly (when we all know there was so much more wrong with this show than just her character).

So I guess this means Leah was expelled from the Prometheus School of Running Away from Things.

You are right to call out the trolls making out they are fans when verbally abusing Ingram on social media, however that doesn't take away from the fact Reva is a badly written and acted character. I hope you weren't suggesting we cannot complain about such things simply because an actor is a POC?

Step 1): Introduce an obnoxious and poorly-written character that no one asked for, and have them play a major role in your flawed and meandering dumpster fire of a show. Make sure they are played by a minority actor that isn't at all suited to the role. Step 2): When fan backlash occurs, cherry pick a few genuinely abusive comments, and pretend that represents the entire fandom. This way, you can blame the fans when your show inevitably flops. All valid criticisms can simply be dismissed as "racism, sexism" etc. This is known as "fan-baiting", and Reva is a prime example of this increasingly common practice by studios.

The problem with Reva is not that she’s black but that she’s not a very well written character

While the show was medicore at best, the chase scene gloriously elevated it briefly to the level of Birdemic. No idea how could that get through any sort of quality control.

If a director looks at that chase scene and says “yeah, this is fine” then that director needs to be fired because that quality is just unacceptable.

While Reva certainly wasn’t my favorite Inquisitor, in the end I didn’t mind her. I thought the writing around her was okay, nothing too special. That being said, I do have to agree with most people here. While any and all racism isn’t okay, that isn’t the main reason why people didn’t like her. Moses as a person of course deserves respect, but I can understand why many people don’t see her as a great villain. Anyway, thank you for calling out the toxic part of the fandom. If not racism, there are some “fans” out there who spend all of their time and energy complaining about SW. saying it sucks/is dying, trying to determine what makes a fan, etc... it can be exhausting. Many toxic “fans” think you’re either a shill who mindlessly consumes everything SW nowadays, or you’re “smart” and you hate SW. Those people are wrong. Honestly the only part of the show I couldn't get behind is that chase scene. Personally I think they did a great job with little Leia

We were all expecting Obi-wan to be in hiding. Never venturing out unless he needs supplies. He's training every day in the force and lightsaber combat because in Rebels, dude was so good, he killed Darth fucking Maul with 2 moves effortlessly. But no, we see brooding Kenobi who apparently sucks at using the force, out of practice with a lightsaber and literally is afraid of Vader. They established in the script for this show that Obi-wan WANTS to train Luke when he gets older but he himself looks like he can't train a dog, let alone a person

I was always annoyed at people who harassed actors. The actors in the show are great, there is only so much they can do with bad writing.

Thumbs down for virtue signaling over Reva - people didn't dislike her because they were racist, people didn't like her because she was a lousy actress playing an even worse character - they would have felt the same no matter what her race, sex, sexual identity, sexuality or any other irrelevant aspect of her as a person was.

I keep seeing/hearing about racism in SW, are people forgetting that there have been PoC in SW since the OT, I think it's more the issue that her character was written poorly with a terribly pointless arc, I mean we have Lando Calrission, Mace Windu, Fin, Saw Gerrera, Captain Panaka and Moff Gideon just to name a few, SW has always been "diverse"

Beginning of the season: Fake Fans, "Uhg! Reva is the worst!" Real Fans, "Yes. But she is supposed to be the worst because she is a Space Nazi." End of the season: "Reva is still the worst." "And now the writers want us to like her, completely ignoring the fact that SHE IS A SPACE NAZI!"

I'm giving 10000 sins to this video for claiming Moses Ingram is great. She was terrible for the role, nothing to do with her skin color, she has no screen presence, no charisma, no intimidation factor, she always looked like she was trying to do her best DMX imitation.

30,000 sins for CS’s decision to remove 3 sins for Moses’ awful performance. She’s not alone, Rupert Friend’s performance was awful as well. Her performance was BAD as a result of terrible writing and directing, and not because of her skin color. There is such a thing as bad performances. Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luther, Sophia Coppola in Godfather III, the cast of Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, Kelly Marie Tran in TLJ, Rupert Friend in Obi Wan, and Moses Ingram are all BAD PERFORMANCES. You are aware that Disney had the racist PR response ready before episodes of Obi Wan even dropped? What?!?! Disney used racist backlash as a way of combating real negative criticism of their content? They’ve never, eveeeeeeeeer done this before.

You should've removed a sin for Owen Lars protecting Luke and Beru by not giving up Obi-Wan/Ben Kenobi even with a lightsaber at his throat, also you seem to forget Anakin Skywalker was supposed to be the most powerful Jedi as evidenced by him being "The Chosen One" so it makes sense why so many Jedi died during his attack on the Jedi Temple during the Purge aka Order 66

The Alderaan open-air forest chase was one of the worst I’ve ever seen in terms of creating some decent tension. That a 10 year old could stay that far ahead of grown adults in an open sprint is just too silly. Then they have them getting thwarted by branches that are fairly easily avoided. It might have been more believable if it was a thick overgrowth just narrow enough for a child to squeak through. Or maybe they could have made the goons somewhat overweight and out of shape, so it was more believable that they would struggle to keep up with a healthy, relatively athletic child. SMH…

Coming from someone who thought Mace Windu was the coolest character in the prequels, Moses Ingrams character is for me undeveloped, poorly written and at times poorly acted. I think the biggest problem in the show is plot convenience, armor, holes and so much more and I quit watching after a few episodes.

the actress was not the problem, the character of Reva is absolutely unlikable not from the "villain" stand point, but her motivation is the most cliché thing ever and her behavior is that of a petulant child, which is not endearing at all, so the hate towards the character is 100% justified, the actress did a good job with what absolute shit she was given.

Re: Reva, it is ok to hate a character and bad writing and bad directing without hating the actress. Reva is a poorly conceived and stupidly implemented villain though I am sure the woman who plays her is a perfectly decent human being deserving of respect. That said, I hate the character who is very dumb. It's the Rose Tico thing all over again. Fans aren't racist for disliking that character, who is terrible and does dumb things and doesn't really advance the plot in any way. Certainly the woman who played her is a decent human being and no one should insult her personally. And don't we all remember how much we hated little Anakin and then grown up Anakin, played by white dudes?

Maybe Moses (Reva) is a good actress, but man every single time there is a scene with Reva I just get pulled out of the show. She is such a boring, one-dimensional villain, and she just doesn't feel menacing at all. I was very surprised you removed a sin for her performance.

Moses Ingram is a solid actress when she isn’t directed to yell, but Reva isn’t a great villain. The spiteful removal of sins was warranted, sure, but Reva herself doesn’t really add much to the Star Wars mythos. If anything I found her a little distracting. Being too much in our face in a show that wasn’t about her. This isn’t Ingram’s fault though; as usual this is on the writers and director.

Moses Ingram is not great in this episode. Neither she is too bad. Bullying an actor is a remarkably stupid thing to do. However, calling fans "racist" for being displeased with mediocre acting is a new kind of low. Being black doesn't give you indulgence for mediocre acting.

Still think Moses Ingram is shoved in here with her character just being wasted big time. You could take her character out and not much would change on the story. Dude you read the previous script for this? They made Reva’s character more compatible and almost fit perfectly in the story. But no they wanted to rush a character into the story and beg for us to like her from the start. It’s called earning that grace, it’s not just given. Why do you think we love all the characters from the PT and OT? Yeah, screw the racists but I’m not gonna sit hear and act that every criticism towards this character is racism or harassment.
