The Sims 4 High School Years is the newest expansion pack that's been out for almost two weeks at the time of this recording. I've paid my money, put in some hours, and now I have opinions. A lot of them actually.
But for some reason I didn't want to do the same review I normally do for the packs, which all of those videos will be linked somewhere, haven't decided yet. This is supposed to be a pack that caters to teens
specifically the American high school experience. But it seemed to be missing something, an actually authentic high school experience. Instead, this felt like a broken simulation of a life simulation high school pack.
Now there were some pros. A lot of features that I actually enjoyed and can see myself using in my personal game. But you'll have to wait for that because today this is Everything Wrong with The Sims 4 High School Years.

I hate how the teens look so old in sims 4, i always feel like a creep when i go send my sim to talk to a sim only to find out they're a TEEN 😭😭😭

My sim is constantly getting the want to dump his bf whenever he's sad or mad. And he'll have 4 or 5 fears at once so he's constantly tense or scared or mad. I honestly miss whims

I think the point is that EA should just add that in the base game lol because console players cant get mods

For the record, after 10th grade, there where several classmates we had to look twice at because they looked old enough to be parents. It was weird.

Why did they get rid of the X feature on the wants? My sim is not going to become friends with his landlord, and I don’t want to wait until tomorrow to do anything else.

I think I'm the only one who gets really annoyed by wants and fears 😭 honestly because they're so basic it makes me mad like my Sims pissed off because they couldn't go out to the bar for the 15th night in a row

I work with kids and I can assure you they dress like that the only issue I have is the height. They should be a bit smaller than young adults.

This part! The height would make a huge difference! I either need a short or extra tall frame to tell the difference😅 like irlm either taller than most teens or shorter & I'm 6 foot 1

@@christopherjackson9741 Yeah fr, I want heigh sliders honestly. I know mods exist but I feel like they're missing a huge aspect of a "life simulator" which is that people come in all different shapes and sizes and height is a big one

so true! teens need a makeover and hieght sliders, but theyd probably just make preteens and keep teens the same like how their gonna do babies babies

I am a young adult who looks the same now as I did at 14 😭 so there are people who age like sims, but I guess its not everyone. I feel like there should be a stage in between child and teenager, that is slightly shorter and "flat", representing like 12/13 years old

The wants and fears are so weird, especially if there's patches the game made for certain sims. One of my sims are acquainted with the grim reaper and I can see the change in his autonomy after the recent patch. His AI usually ignores conversation advancements so he can leave. Now my sim has wants to be friends or prank the grim reaper or patchy the strawman (who i put up seasonally) all the time knowing both of them show up so on occasion. She just ends up mad if I don't. Let's not get started on the dead-end job fear...

I- I'm a teen and when I make teens in ts4 they DO look like teens tho? You gotta change the body shapes and height. I use height sliders and my teens even look 14 lol

when I make teens I don't really use my height slider mod until I'm happy with the desgin without it. I find it rather easy and sometimes I do make them look like young adults because sometimes teens are more mature or do look that way

Well, as a young adult, to me, teens in the sims 4 do look like young adults. In real life, humans go through puberty, their body changes A LOT. It doesn't really make sense that when sims go from a child into a teen lifestage they suddenly lose every child resemblance they previously had. "Teens" in the sims 4 look more like 17-20 rather than 14-15 for example, which would be a more ideal age in my opinion. It just doesn't make sense to have the same life state twice except one is a sized down version of the other. Even my sister, who is 16 at the moment doesn't look as mature as the teen sims do. You can say "it's genetics, it's makeup, it's this/that...", I'm pretty sure that not 99% of the teens look 25.

Girl you need height sliders and body presets, also try making their eues a bit bigger and cheeks a bit puffy and give them smaller frame. I make ALOT of teen sims and cc helps a lot, im afraid without CC they just look like young adults

How is the want system support to work? My sims only get fears and that's it. Also about what you said, I'm able to recreate teen like sims easily but I am a teen so that may be why

1 mistake is so the sim lock it so you cant change if you sims brith day is long,short or normal andddddd…I’m stuck on long mode🙃

Hey, quick question! Im thinking about getting this pack because of the; cheerleading, prom, boba shops and clothing shops, clothing, accessories, basically everything in create a sim, and I am getting the seasons pack possibly today. I want to make a Christmasy cheerleader who has lots of drama up her sleeve. In base game im pretty sure your teenage sims cannot woo-hoo or flirt. Can you actually flirt or woo-hoo or even kiss with this pack?

The Sims 4 is just lazily made and it'll unfortunately never be what it could have been. The only thing this game has that outshines the other Sims games, are the graphics.. and that's literally it.. Other than that, the games broken, patches are a temporary fix until another patch comes out, there's not enough distinction between different personality types, the game is geared towards way too young of an audience, there's never any repercussions, everything is always hunky dory, the packs get dragged out to keep Simmers wanting more, gameplay is almost nonexistent, the Sims Team have no idea how to code their own game, The Sims franchise is in EA's hands......... and it gets boring after 30 minutes of playing. They really screwed up with TS4 and it sucks big time.. I really wish I could just sit down and enjoy this game but I just can't.
